You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
As much as I want to come I'm afraid I can't. My girl and I are going somewhere since schools are closed for us on Friday and Monday. So we are either headed to the beach, NYC or a cruise, LOL, one leaves on Friday and comes back Monday - doesn't that sound wonderful??? If something changes I'll let you know.
Keep me posted on the spring one. You know my scrappy weekends book up quickly.
Karen (Vixen Stamper) or the gal that brings it all, LOL!!!
Karen - I'm so sorry you won't be able to make it....what if we need something??
Heart - so glad you will be able to join us!
Bev - 1000 envelopes will be $75.
Donna - looking forward to seeing you.
Everyone else - envelopes are 7.5 cents each (I have some envelopes left over, which I parsed out to the first people who asked. The person I buy from raised his prices slightly, which is why there's a bit of a difference). I'll have them packaged for you on the day of the swap with some extras available, too.
And just to brag a bit....I have my swap done, cut up, packaged and in the shoe box. I have even started putting together your goodie bags, too. Expect a blizzard....this is a rare occurrence!!
Is there a cut off date of signing up? Just checking so we know how many cards to cut.
If we don't have 30 sign up, are we still going to be able to have the swap? I know the rental has to be met. Trying to recruit some stampers but everyone is so busy. Looking forward to seeing you ladies/
We need more stampers....... I am looking as well. Fingers crossed we fill the swap and our cut off is next Thurs to cancel if we can not get more stampers.
October 12, 2013 - Shoebox Swap in Aberdeen, MD (Harford County)
We (Andrea & Lisa) are hosting another shoebox swap on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., at: (please read the entire description)
University Center Northeast Maryland (Heat Center) (1st Floor)
1201 Technology Drive, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001
at Aberdeen Exit 85W off of I95 and is approximately 35 minutes north of Baltimore and 60 minutes from Philadelphia.
We are asking that you stay for the entire time of the swap.
THEME:
The theme is Christmas/Holiday Season. We do require that all products must be made using Stampin' Up stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. Stamps and colors can either be current or retired.
SWAP:
There is room for 31 people (over 18 years of age please) to attend with each person bringing a shoebox swap for 30 people to make cards. There is a $21 non-refundable charge per person for room rental, expenses, and box lunch which will be collected before the day of the swap. All monies need to be in by Friday, October 4, 2013. If money is not received by this time, the waiting list will be opened up. Everyone who signs up must have a SCS ID to make this fair for everyone attending.
All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc., along with your own adhesive and scissors to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. We'd like each person to have a sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make your card, and also have their swaps in baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go more smoothly.
LUNCH:
We will have a catered lunch. You need to select what type of sandwich and beverage you would like. Here is what is in the boxed lunch:
Sandwich (select from: turkey, ham, chicken salad, tuna salad, and vegetarian)
chips
apple
cookie
soda (diet, non-diet not sure if pepsi or coke)
Let me know if there are any food allergies.
There are vending machines on site and restaurants within the area if you would like to dine after the swap.
There will be several door prizes throughout the day. And we are asking for card donations which will be used for our local cancer center. These can be old swap cards, card fronts, or even one of the cards you are doing for the swap.
To sum up what you’ll need to bring for the shoebox swap: shoebox supplies, adhesive, scissors, paper cutters and any other supply needed to make cards. Card donations for the local cancer center. I am attaching a registration form that should be sent to me along with the $21 non-refundable charge. Send me your choice of sandwich and beverage.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Lisa and Andrea[/QUO
Hi Lisa and Andrea, Mary Kay McWilliams wants the Turkey with diet***Lynn Hershner wants Turkey with reg***Mary Helen Nichols wants Turkey with reg and Kelly McMillion wants Chicken salad with diet. Thanks Ladies, can't wait to get together and see all the wonderful cards.
Hey Ladies
We need 5 more stampers to make this a success..... call your friends. We need to have this done by tomorrow or we will have to cancel. I don't want to cancel another swap. Lets work together and get 5 more people.
Andrea
Sad news, I had to cancel the Aberdeen location because we did not have enough people HOWEVER, I got us another space in Bel Air on Churchville Road......Yeah us. So I have to wipe the slate clean for lunch and start all over. I will send a menu out as to what we will be doing. The restriction is not as great on us but I still just want us to order lunch and you can bring snacks for your table.
I will send out information by Sunday. I am in the process of organizing my son's Eagle Ceremony for this Saturday.
Let Lisa know if you want envelopes and I have tombow adhesive refills for $2.25 a piece.
Hi Ladies, please sign me up for your swap! I love doing Christmas Card swaps! I will fill out the registration form and send it in right away! Thanks, I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
Welcome! Andrea will add you to the list on Sunday I'm guessing. She is hosting a party tomorrow to honor her son's achieving his Eagle Scout status and is really busy.
I'm glad you can join us! I believe the new cost is going to be $16 per person plus a canned good for the church's food pantry. Andrea will post something definite today or tomorrow.
Kathi - you are definitely on the list even though you aren't "on the list" yet.
Donna - I'm not sure about your check, but I can tell you that Andrea planned an Eagle Scout ceremony and luncheon for 80 people that was held this past weekend, so she is a little behind. We emailed a little today, and I'm pretty sure she plans to catch up on swap business by tomorrow.
I have all people who paid on the list as PAID. I still have some ladies that need to pay. I will reimburse all people who paid $21 a cash back of $5 at the swap. But anyone sending a check now the cost is $16.
Remember to bring a non-perishable item so the church can stock their food pantry.
Lisa has envelopes and I have Tombow refill adhesive. Let us know if you are interested .
Post any questions or feel free to send a message.
Kelly
You asked if Halloween card would be ok, yes it is a holiday, sort of. I did the Christmas and Holiday so all my cards would be done or close to being done for the season.
I am so BUMMED as I have been away from SCS since early August and just logged in to see you're hosting a Shoebox Swap! I just don't have the time this Fall but I wish lots of fun to all those that are attending! Both of you host a great time! This will teach me not to stay away from SCS so long!
Hello Karen! I'm going to miss this one too - hope to see you at their Spring Shoebox Swap! Take Care. Janet

Since we have 23 people signed up, should we just make that many? Alternatively, could I make a 2nd card, as the 24th person? And make 2 of everyone's? I'm glad someone asked about the Holiday, I might make a Thanksgiving Day card...
That's fine. Just let me know for sure that you are making two cards so I can give you two box numbers.
Andrea and I have both made a second card as bonus projects for everyone to make as well. Plus, I have a surprise, super fun project for anyone who is interested to make.
