Western IL/Eastern IA Shoebox Swap
Concordia Lutheran Church
316 South Oakwood Ave.
Geneseo, IL 61254
Saturday June 25, 2011
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or whenever we finish
Cost $15
This is a full card swap. Cards should be a minimum of 2 layers of card stock and an embellishment. You will need to supply all materials necessary for your card-this includes all card stock cut to your cards size, stamps and inks, embellishments, etc. Please use good quality materials and cut pieces nicely. Put all the pieces necessary into plastic baggies and be sure to include clear instructions. Then place your sample, baggies and all supplies in a shoebox or basket. Please include a few extras in case of boo-boos. Cards should be able to be completed within 10-15 minutes. If your card is especially complicated, you might wish to have some of the stamping or cutting done beforehand.
Bring a basic supply kit with you including: scissors, adhesive, pop dots, cutter and anything else necessary to make your projects easy for you. Also bring something to carry your finished cards in. You might want to bring along a camera to take pictures of the card samples as well, in case you dont have time to complete all the projects.
You will need to bring enough supplies for each person attending. Final count will be posted June 10th.
Cost is $15 which includes snacks, lunch and door prizes. Payment and registration must be received by June 10th. Please mail your registration form and payment to me at the address below. There are no refunds, but you may offer your spot to someone else. All funds collected will be spent on the event.
If you wish to bring a favorite snack, we appreciate it and just let us know you are going to do so. If you wish to donate a door prize, we appreciate that also and just need to know you are going to do so. (Include your name, email address, etc with the door prize so the recipient will know who to thank.)
We will have a few tables set up if you have items you wish to sell or trade during the swap as well.
If you have never done a shoebox swap before and/or you have a question, please feel free to email me or post to the thread on Splitcoaststampers.
I've updated the list of stampers coming to the swap. Linda, Sherry, Pat, Patty, and Mim-look forward to seeing you. There are always some great cards.
Sorry for not updating sooner! I was out of town on business and the hotel's internet connection wouldn't work. Glad to be home even though it is really cold and damp around here.
Adding one more name. We have room for many more. Any more ladies in the Eastern IA/Northwestern IL area want to come and stamp? We always have such beautiful cards.
Updated the list. I emailed Crystal but haven't heard back from her or her group. I've got stamp club coming up next week & hope to persuade a few more to come from our area. They can't get a shoe box swap much closer!
Less than 2 weeks before the end of sign up, where are all the stampers? I haven't heard from any of the Marion/Cedar Rapids ladies. Aren't there a few more ladies who want to join us for a wonderful day of friendship and stamping?
I am so sorry for not getting back to you before now. I got a promotion at work and life has been crazy to say the least. My group will not be able to make it this time we are all over the place that weekend. I am super sad I am not able to make it because it truly is a great time. Have fun and keep us on the list for the next time.
Hugs
Crystal

Please send your registrations in so we can go shopping for door prizes next weekend. We've got a few more checking calendars before the signup deadline. It will be a fun day!
I received your registration & payment yesterday. Thanks!
Today is the last day for sign up so we can get our cards ready. Any other ladies want to join? It is going to be a super fun day with lots of good friends and wonderful cards!!
It has been suggested to me that since we have a smaller group than usual, that not only do we do the regular shoe box swap, but also offer the option of a completed card swap for anyone interested. A completely different design than your swap card, and completely done and ready to swap. Anyone interested in doing this as well?
1 more week to go ladies. My cards are done and I just need to put the kits into baggies to be done. I can't wait to see all of the wonderful cards and talk with all the stampers. See you next Saturday!
I have heard from all but 2 and everyone decided to do the additional cards. I've gone ahead and made 14 of my 2nd set just because I'm sure the last 2 will also participate and just have not let me know about it.
To Deb and your Crew. I had a wonderful time today at the swap. I'm still looking over my cards. You did a fabulous job on the door prizes and food also. I enjoyed the completed card swap. Those who didn't get to come missed a fun day.
Thanks Pat! We all had a great time and have already starting discussing doing another one, maybe with a Christmas theme. The cards were all fabulous and the completed card swap worked great as well.
It depends on when you have it. 4 of us from Geneseo are actually going on the Operation Write Home cruise February 3-12th. But it sounds like fun. We thought we had missed the one in the fall.
Cruise & Crop has information on their web page under stamping cruises. Also Operation Write Home has a link on their home page. It does sound like a great time and a welcome break from the cold IL weather in February.
