Anybody in Iowa from SCS get together on a regular or semi-regular basis for stamping fun? I would love to be included so I can learn from those more experienced than I.
Please let me know if anything comes up!

Hi there
Where is Iowa are you from? I'm in Fort Dodge and would love to do something like that too. We could start a group if there isnt one. My fiance and I have a small cafe and we could meet there if we needed a place.
I would love to do this also, but I am from southern Iowa. My sister and aunt and uncle live in Fort Dodge, so I go there sometimes. It would be nice to have our own Iowa get together at some point!
I now live in Oskaloosa. I have stampin parties at my house, it is nothing special, but it works and can accomodate a few people. I would volunteer to have a get together at my house if anyone were interested. Maybe some Saturday?
Nice to hear you are the same "neck of the woods" as me. I am in Kalona, and have just become a TAC (The Angel Company) demonstrator. I am planning on an open house in several weeks. Any of you fellow SCS's wanting to join the fun, I will put another post up when I decide a date.
That is pretty good! We will definately have to get together. I still need to make about a bizillion christmas cards, maybe some saturday in october or november?
Well, I am relativley close to many of you, I am in Douds, 15 miles south of Fairfield. So, Agency, Oskaloosa, and Kalona(not a bad drive)and have reasons to go that way( Coralridge Mall and Cedar Rapids-sister's). How cool is that?

Hello Lisaulin-I am in Kalona. How long have you been stamping/scrapping. What kinds of tools do you like to use? Do you take any classes, or get together with anyone to do your craft? This is so great that there is someone close. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
I'm close to the middle of the state in Marshalltown/Ames and do card classes and scrapbooking lessons in my home and various other locations. I love to get together!
Hi, I just found this thread! I live in northwest Iowa---Sheldon, to be exact. I'd love to get some kind of Iowa gathering put together! What a great idea!!

I am relocating to Waukee, IA from Ohio and know absolutely no one. I hoped I would find some ladies to get together and stamp with.
I was so excited when I found this thread I nearly jostled my hubby right off the couch!
I won't be there until after the first of the year, but I hope some of you will want to get together on a regular basis to stamp and just hang out and have fun.
I understand perfectly your dilemma dacygrl. I moved to Kalona, IA about 5 years ago and left all of my stamping/scrapping friends in IL. I searched the internet and have found quite a few stores, conventions and websites. A website you might want to check out is www.stampingbugfamily.com. I have been in this internet group for 5 years, and these people are like family. We swap, encourage, and help out our fellow bugs. We have a reunion once a year in Palatine, IL which is about 3 1/2 hours from me. I have made wonderful friends.
As for where you are moving; I believe it is perhaps a little town on the outskirts of DesMoines, and the DesMoines area is wonderful for stores and classes. There is Archivers in DesMoines, Scrappers Haven at 641 N. Ankeny Blvd. in Ankeny - not too far from the DesMoines area; and Memory Bound in Valley Junction which is on the outskirts of DesMoines. If there was anywhere to move, you have moved into an area which is really close to alot of great stores. There have been stamping and scrapping conventions in the DesMoines area, and if I find out about them I will share them with you. They are sporadic.
Also, there are alot of independent consultants in the Iowa area.
I live about 2 - 2 1/2 hours from where you are so perhaps we could meet and go shopping together. I do go to DesMoines once in a while so I can go to the stores. Let me know when you get settled and we can see from there. Hope you move is uneventful and goes well. Welcome to Iowa. It is a great state with alot to do (even though everyone says "your moving to Iowa? There's nothing to do there") :>) Take care.

Des Moines would be a good gathering spot as it is more centrally located for most of us. I am 2 hours north so it would be no problem to come down for a gathering. Sounds like fun!

Stamping at my house! Well once I get there.
