Actually, don't the ones from the summer mini make it into the next year's catty? I could be wrong; to be honest, I've never really paid attention because I was stamping for my pleasure only. BUT, I have decided to become a demo, and I'm mailing the paperwork on Monday!! Now, I'll have to start paying attention to all of those things!
I think it would be fine to use something from the summer mini, but that is just me (and I know that jewellh would vote with me on that one, but we're flexible to what everyone else votes to do)!!
I CAN'T WAIT until next Saturday!!!

Allison,
I PM'd you a few days ago but haven't heard back. I was wondering if I could join the shoebox swap. I totally missed the thread that said we had to RSVP for it.
Thanks,
Pam
Before I complete my swap can we use stamps from the summer mini that did not make the catalog?
I got to thinking and thought it might not be a good idea.
The summer mini isn't eligible to go into the new catty until the following year. Since we don't know which ones are going to to go into the catalog, you might want to think about something else. Does that help?

Now I am in a panic.
I ordered the stamp set and have all the right paper and reinkers etc.
Since it will be just 1 card out of 20 and it could be just sent to someone or givien away and not kept what do you think?
I guess what I was thinking was that if people had the set then it would give them another idea of something to do with it.
Now I am worried.

I say to just go for it Granny! It doesn't bother me in the least. I had actually wanted to use one of the stamps from the mini as a background, but I haven't decided to do it definitely or not.

I know that I'm not in charge and I can't speak for everyone, but I know that I am preparing a few extras for anyone who missed the thread.

I definately don't want to make you worry or panic! I thought you were considering it, didn't know it was a plan! Go for it! I'm sure we will love it! I am going to PM you.
Smooches!

Okay, now that I'm in...what time is this? I mean from when to when? What is a recommended "packing list" of things to bring? Are we doing just shoebox swaps? Time to stamp other stuff? I think we need a directional guide at this point. AND I say this only because I'M LOST!!! I know I'm doing 21 swaps SU only, complete cards or card fronts - I think I missed that. I'm demoing waterfall card - just showing everyone how to - right? Whether they do it with is not my concern - correct? I mean, I'm only cutting paper for me to SHOW the technique - right? Okay, I'm off again.....

IMO do it! If anyone falls in love with it & can't buy it, that's a GREAT way to remind them to always buy the set when they can! We've all seen sets in the minis & thought maybe later, only to find that later we couldn't buy it.
Needed supply list is still coming right? I have my shoebox ready, my $10 and my gift for the dirty stamper game. Anything else I need to work on?
Shell...I'm not Allison(duh) but I think she said to just bring what you needed to demo and post the name of what you are doing and make and post a "shopping list" for anyone that might want to do a "make and take" of your demo piece.

Thanks Connie. I will post that in just a bit, then!
I'm demoing a waterfall card - bring 2 - 3 colors of coordinating card stock and a stamp set with images that will fit 1 3/4 inch pieces of card stock. Refer to the SCS Resource link for waterfall card - that will give you the dimensions on what to cut. AND DON'T FORGET YOUR ADHESIVE! BRING REFILLS! (just in case!)
Granny, I'm so glad you asked about summer mini sets! I am using one from it too. I just thought that if a demo had a party within the next few days she could use it for last chance summer mini sales!! I hope noone minds. I know I don't!!
Also, I know the retired set "Bow Wow" is a popular one, but if anyone is going to sell it in the yard sale, I would love to know. Please PM me if you are thinking of selling it!!
See you all very soon!

You got it right Granny.
If you are signed up for a shoebox swap, make sure you bring the items needed to recreate the card.
If you are interested in learning a technique, contact the following people for a list of items needed:
* If you are interested in learning the watercolor crayon technique, please make sure that you bring your own watercolor crayons. If you do not have them, Shell is willing to share. However, I don't want her to have to share her set with 35 crazed stampers... ;-)
Other than that, bring whatever you would like to work on.....

Yes .... Shell is willing to share with ... a few! LOL! Those little crayons are like gold!!!!
I can't wait to meet you all in person this Saturday. Someone asked about the times, we said we would start at 9 am, and go as long as we felt like it.
Someone asked about stamping time for scrapping, I am sure if you are willing to stay late, there will be others who want to stay and scrap, I know I will be. We have the clubhouse as long as we want it.
Some people are bringing snacks, I am going to have coffee ready there. There are tablecloths (paper) there, I will bring some plates and cups and plastic utensils for people to use while eating snacks. I will be ordering SubWay sandwiches (the platter type) and some pizzas that we can eat for lunch. There is plenty of table space and chairs. There are bathrooms and a refrigerator, microware, icemaker and stove in the clubhouse if anyone needs to use those things.
I have one bedroom with a twin bed available and a full size futon bed, plus floor space for more (and a double blow up mattress), and a tent (if you like to camp) if anyone wants to stay over....just be aware that I have cats if you are allergic.
Somebody asked where Woodstock was in relation to Brunswick (which I believe is South Georgia, on the Eastern side?? Woodstock is about 25 miles North of Atlanta, just north of Marietta and about 1 hr and 20 min. south of Chattanooga, TN. We are between I-75 and I-575.
I will bring some extra electrical cords in case we need them for heat embossing or light boxes--not sure what people may need to make the cards in the shoebox swaps, so will bring them just in case.
A local stamping store, Stamp Art Jubilee (www.stampartjubilee.com) will give us a 10% discount if we visit that day, they are about 8 miles from the clubhouse. We could make a field trip if you all want to go over there. There is a Hobby Lobby about 7 miles down Bells Ferry Rd too.
I have my NVR shoebox swaps ready for people to make and my SU shoebox swaps ready too....and my prize for the dirty game :-). Looking forward to learning some of the techniques, I am going to email Shell and Buttsjt for the list of items needed for thier demonstrations. Thanks for posting the items for the Waterfall cards Stampintree. Did anyone sign up to teach the Altoid box demonstration?
Maria

mooneybeams - I can take your spot. It won't be anything fancy, but I will come up with something in the next few days. How many are in the NVR swap? I'm off to the gallery to get some ideas....
Oh and I have a small set of non-SU watercolor crayons that I am willing to share for the watercolor demo. Just need to find them, actually my son's but I'm sure he won't mind.

I vote for a field trip to Stamp Art Jubilee. I had planned on stopping there on my way home. I'm in search of a "bra" stamp and they sometimes have them.
Let me know if there is anything you want me to bring. I'm not far and can get bring stuff, even at the last minute.

Boost me up ladies, boost me up...having PMS slump. 5 hr drive is weighing on me - BUT the destination is keeping my spirits up (can't wait to meet you FIRST Beth!). My husband says, "GO..have a good time!" I am looking foward to meeting you ladies. As far as supplies for waterfall card - check out the Resource section. I don't fold over the large piece of neutral card stock - I just use 1/2 of it - my card doesn't "open" just waterfalls. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense now, but it will. As far as stamp sets and colors - whatever you want! You can use just about any stamp set! I don't know what set I'm going to use...Natural Beauty, Tags & More, I never know the real name of the stamp sets, I'm always making up my own names. I may use Going Out in Style...mood just hasn't struck me on what set and colors to use. SO....PM me if you have any questions. I just wanna WATCH the crayons. Sound cool!
Here is the supply list for the Drunken Chalks. The colors and stamp set are just what I'm using you can bring any you want
Here's the supply list:
Spray Bottle with Rubbing Alcohol
Chalk Inks (I'm using Color Box Brights and Subtles)
Metallic Ink (I'm using silver)
Glossy White Cardstock
Matte Acrylic Sealer
Background card stock (Im using Lavendar Lace & Bashful Blue)
Stamp set (Im using Flower Garden)
Ink Pad (I'm using Lavendar Lace)
Matching Ribbon
You also might want to bring a heat gun to dry between steps. That's something we can share. I will have mine there
I'm staying with Beth - TMDMom - we're Chatter chatterers and have been chatting since just after Atlanta Regionals which is funny that we were both there, but didn't know anything about the other til after! So, looking forward to running into more Georgia folks that might have been there! I'm heading up after I drop kids off at school Friday. Gotta have time to souvenir shop for the kiddies!
and not heading back until Sunday....it's good to "know" people! I'm thinking when I get my RV I'll be able to travel the country and just park in SCS sisters' driveways! AND see the COUNTRY!
