I would love to go to something like this. I dont stamp, (ashamed, I dont know where to begin) I do mostly scrapbooking and I just started having interest in cards. After recently joining SCS, I think I would LOVE to learn how to stamp!
It would be nice to be able to go to one of your get togethers and be able to see what I am sure would be beautiful cards.

Fruitland Park near The Villages & I hate the heat!!! Much rather be in AC stamping! The only time to be outside is when I am on the beach & somedays it is too hot for that!

I live in Mount Dora and I am having a Shoe Box Swap at the local library on April 12th at 10 am - 1 pm. I will also be teaching how to make a Flip Book Album. We meet the second Saturday of every month. Check out this thread:
I'm not a full time FL resident - yet (four more years) - but we have a house in Venice on the gulf coast. My parents are in Lakeland, inlaws in Bradenton, and I went to high school in Merritt Island & Cocoa Beach. I'm always looking for stamping events when we're down and also for stamp stores in the areas we visit. I've subscribed to this thread and maybe I'll get to stamp with some of you at some point

I certainly will. I'm heading to FL next Friday. I'm flying into Tampa - stopping by the Ellenton outlets on my way to Venice for the weekend. I have to work in Orlando on Monday (4/2 and I'm waiting for details of where I am working Tues - Thurs. DH flies into Tampa late on 5/1 and then it's back to Venice for some R & R until May 11th. My parents are preparing to head North so I am not sure if I'll be stopping in Lakeland on my way to Orlando on Sunday or not. Any good LSS (that would be easy for me to find) between Venice and Orlando?
I am in Lake Placid in the very central part of Florida. When we were in school we were taught that if you fold the map of FL in half, not counting the handle, and then fold in half from top to bottom where they meet in the middle would be Lake Placid. Don't know how true, never tried this.
I would love to get together with some of you from around here. Not to far to Lakeland about 1 1/2 hours.

Hi from beautiful Edgewater--just south of New Smyrna Beach. I'm up for a central Florida get together. I'm going to one up near St. Louis, MO next month with my daughter who lives there.
Sorry I missed that one! My aunt lives in Leesburg, and though I don't get over there to see her often enough, I always go right past Mt. Dora. Cool town! I guess I'll have to keep my nose in here to see what's happening in my own state!

I hope you dont mind me jumping in but I need some help.
I am coming over to Florida in July, just in time for Orlando StampFest
I am looking also for anything else going on, i would like to spend some time away from Orlando and was thinking of heading over to Tampa and the coast. Where are there a cluster of great small indepentant stamp/scrapbook stores. Yes my holiday is just for craft shopping, a girls only trip with my DD's.
Any local info is welcome.
I am coming to visit my parents during July 4th. I would love to get together with some SCS people. Does anyone live in the Brooksville area (Hernando County)? That is where I will be for 10 days. Hope to meet some Floridians.

I have to look up where West Palm Beach is. I am not sure where any town is. I just now know where Brooksville is and the it is in Hernando county. I want to move to FL some day but I have live in CT my whole life of 37 years and am afraid of change and failure. I would have to find a job and buy a house down in FL. I have had the same job for 12 years and my husband has worked for his family for 20 years so you see change is scary and hard.

WPB is about 60 miles due north of Miami ... which is, of course, on the East coast.
I smiled when I read your post becuz I lived my entire life in CT before I moved down here. As much as I love New England, I would never, EVER, move back. Or, for that matter, any where the temperature drops below 55 degrees. I want heat and sunshine ... for at least 52 weeks of the year! LOL.
Where did you live in CT? I live in the Northwest corner in Litchfield. My husband has been painting ever room in the house and I can't figure out why because I have not asked him to do this. I am not complaining. Something tells me in July when we get to Florida he is going to be looking at houses. If we sell our Dodge pick-up and our travel trailer camper which are both only a few years old we could afford the house in FL. I guess we will see what happens.

That's too bad that a demo never responds to you.
I am a (new) demo and I live in Melbourne. But I would be glad to take you as customer. (Although it would be a bit difficult for me to hold workshops in your area. ;) )
