Boy Crystal you're way ahead of me. It is 8:20 on Friday night and I've just finished making sure I've got everything and labeling stuff. Did all of my things priced. Now I've got to run and get my "tool" kit ready. Forgot all about that. Spent the day with Heather watching chic flicks, and am watching Addyson tonight while she goes out. Papa is at a gun show. See ya tomorrow.
Hope you all had a great time today!! I am sure the cards, chocolate and PB Fritos (sigh) were just awesome!! Wish I could have made it to this one. Probably a good thing I stayed home. Heard a crash while I was painting kitchen cupboards and discovered 2 shelves in my recently organized (within the last 48 hours) had totally given out, spilling my stuff all over my newly cleaned room. :( An hour after that, the wind blew over this vase/candle/floral thing on my window sill, breaking it. :(:(
Anyway, hope I can make it to the next swap!!
Kathy
p.s. Are any of you ladies near Danville, Iowa??
A big thanks to all who helped me with this swap including the door prizes and yummy treats A special thanks to Becky who did most of the food and all of the cleaning up. It was great to see everyone again and to meet some new people this group is growing and getting better all the time I can't wait for the next one...now I am off to relook at my cards from yesterday.
JUST AWESOME! We had so much fun yesterday. Lots of laughs, meeting new people, the food, and the cards were great. Thanks for everyone who came, and I hope you had a good time and will want to come to another swap.
Sherry and Becky - great job! Thanks for being the hostesses with the mostesses. Make sense??????
Everyone, some of the girls were talking March/April for the next swap, and then maybe June/July for the next one after that. Thoughts and plans are already starting to churn so be on the lookout for the next Eastern Iowa Swap.
I can't wait!
If there is anyone else who would like to host a swap, jump right in. To be a hostess can be done by anyone who wants to be one.
Drive home was good. Had a back up on 218. Must have been bad as there were at least 9 State officers out at the location scene. Not to mention all of the other people involved. I imagine it was someone from the football game as it looked like it was just letting out when I went through.
We also had a great time! This was our first shoebox swap of this type. Thanks so much to the organizers and everyone else for the fun cards.
We had so much fun we spent the whole drive home talking about planning one. Watch your emails. I think we will host another one in November in the Quad Cities (Bettendorf). Hope some of you can make it. I will post details later this week on SCS.
I did grab a list of attendees. At the time, it certainly wasn't because I thought I would be planning one of these swaps.
We were so excited about hosting one we stopped at the location we hope to have it at on the way home. It was closed, so we had to look in the windows. I am surprised no one called that police to say that two crazy ladies are going around the building looking in all the windows! I will go Monday to make sure there is enough space. It looked like there was - but it was hard to tell just by looking through the windows.
Thank you for all your hard work on making this Swap such a success! I had a great time, enjoyed meeting new friends, and judging from the laughter, it sounded like everyone else had a great time too! Looking forward to the next swap!
I can probably have a swap here (in Danville) in the future. The school has a really nice gym that is available for the community to use. I just can't commit to a date yet, as I am still trying to get projects done in our new home. Almost done painting kitchen island, then I will start on youngest daughter's bedroom furniture (painting it all black). Hoping to be done one of these days so I can actually scrapbook and make cards again.
Pat - I will email you info on painting the cupboards. And send you my before and after pics.

Kathy, if you have one, I'd be willing to help from afar.

Hi girls! I'm going to close this 2010 thread, just so your upcoming readers/attendees do not get this one confused with the swap you're planning for 2011! Have fun! ;)
