I'll be offline for the next five days or so, going to see my mom/sisters/niece/daughter to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday!
Speaking of teapots... I bought this one (link below) for my mom's birthday gift. Long story short: My sister loves to buy random little garden decorations to put in my mom's garden as surprises. Well, she found this cute little ceramic sea turtle one that is 'hatching out of an egg.' She hid it in my mom's garden and left for vacation, and my mom hadn't seen it yet. Well, while she was away, my mom came across it... she thought it was a real turtle hatching from an egg, and called my other sister panicking because she said it was stuck in the egg and hadn't moved lately, and she was wondering if it was going to die there! Even my stepdad thought it was real. My mom actually got upset thinking it was dying! They took a picture and sent it to my other sister who explained it was a garden ceramic decoration! It was hilarious...
Anyhow... this all just happened less than a month ago, so the sisters are all getting her commemorative sea turtle items. haha https://thehungersite.greatergood.co...--2015720535-1
That is so adorable! Turtles have always reminded me of patience. TFS and your story is too cute!!!
You gals are awesome, thank you for bumping for me. I had a truly blessed trip visiting my sisters, niece, daughter, and most of all my mom who just turned 80. I haven't laughed that hard in what feels like years. She is a hoot for 80. We had a girls night where we stayed at a hotel downtown and went to a festival, more shopping that the law (or my bank account) should allow (including Archivers) and ate more food than needed by far, though I did do pretty good about staying healthy with my choices all things considered!
I'm bummed however that the turtle teapot has not yet arrived at her house, now have to go track down the order I placed adn find out why it didn't get sent... :(
I love shaped teapots, how about you? The ones that look like animals or such, you know? I have the small whale one but am always watching for more unique ones. Like the turtle one I ordered for my mom....
Any you have and want to share????
Just came across this and it sounds very interesting. Always wanted to attend a Tea, but never found one close by.
I would love to join you ladies for this and make some new virtual f. riends.
My 85 yo mother collects tea pots. She has 6 or 7, one my sister brought back from her London Trip and two that have been handed down through the family. We both have several tea cups. We have a set that were hand painted by an ancestor.
I have also been eyeing tea cozy patterns and this may push me to make one or more.

I don't have any that are shaped. There is a local tea store that has plenty near me. I have been tempted to purchase one The gal there is from England and has written fiction books that are centered around her true life story. She grew up in an orphanage. The name of the books are Polly Brown if you google it. She is a very interesting gal to talk to and will enlighten you with her stories. She also signs and sells her books there.

Welcome Robyn! Those teapots and cups sound very interesting! Would love to see pics.
Good morning! Sorry I have been MIA. Will try to get back into checking in once in again. I just posted my Scrapbook Inspiration Challenge if anyone is interested in scrapbooking. If you want to check it out it is here. It has nothing to do with teapots, but with the 4th. There is a link to a great video, too.
I will be back later with photos of my teapot collection, or do you want us to wait until the teaparty? I have found a couple of crafts, don't know which one I will make yet. Maybe all of them! LOL

Its been a long exhausting week here with a lot of people losing power around us. We were blessed to not lose power and were able to help, had my inlaws living with us for 6 days. I can only imagine what this heat wave is goign to do to the utility bill next month but am grateful for the AC.

That must be miserable! Hope the heat wave tapers off soon. We are having unusually nice weather here in FL this year. The rain we have had has kept it cooler for us. I love the rain to say the least. Of course, DH and I will be heading to Arlington next wk to see DS. He said the heat is bad there too. I am hoping that it won't be too miserable..
Hi everyone. I will be heading to Arlington this week. I hope to plan a trip to Annapolis. I know there is a cute little teahouse there where you can purchase various teas. Maybe I will get to visit a teaism shop in D.C.
finally figured out what I want to do with this - I'm going to do 3x3 cards in a little holder of some kind (hmmm - sounds like I still have some "figuring" to do...)
I started what I was making, but got stuck. It is a tea "wallet", but might have to change my mind. I was going by the tutorial, and realized part way into it, that I need some kind of special die. Right now I am trying to improvise...
Here is a tea themed card I made for DTGD challenge, if you want to see.
Got to head to church. Shouldn't get on before church, always stay on longer than I intend! Got on to get the newest DTGD challenges and noticed this thread at the top!
I need to do mine too, was thinking a decorated box to store teas, or a tin, just haven't had as much crafting time as I would like (like that is anything new! haha). I have a great quilt pattern somewhere too but doubt I'd make much progress at this rate!
Hi everyone. I have been MIA the past few wks. When I returned from visiting DS my DH got sick and then I caught it and I had to leave this past wk for a training class that was over the weekend for work. So, I am home now and hope this week winds down a bit. I really need to do some crafting. Looking forward to this tea.
