Nancy,
I'm CASEing your cardfront from the last shoebox on my blog this week. I loved it so much that I had to copy. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey, keep those German Jack Russell short haired terrier pointers from digging up the yard it's not go to ground season!
Question for Sue:
What kind of clear bags did you use for the pretzel sticks you made in the past? I am thinking about something like that for my daughter's preschool class.

Hi, Heidi:
I get the bags at AC Moore in the candy making aisle. They are by Make 'n Mold. I either used #5900 or 5040. I LOVE these bags and have them in lots of sizes!
Here's a link I stumbled across that has customized ATC info stamps (I've heard of the company but never ordered and do not own any of their black-rubber stamps):
For any that was hoping to get the Creative Memories Dragonfly punch and missed out. I found a Marvy Dragonfly punch that is the same size and actually has a wee bit of more detail. I now have both!

Back years ago in Nursing school they had Poor Man Soup. It cost $1.00 a bowl and was very hardy. It is relatively inexpensive to make if you have plenty of left over veggies.
To make from scratch:
1 - large can of Hunts diced tomatoes
1 - small can of Hunts sauce
1 - bottle of Campbell's tomato juice or V-8 juice
1 - lb of ground meat -browned in 1 tbsp of olive oil...use left over hamburgers if you have any.
I use a combination of Bison & Turkey
 - large onion cut in large pieces cook with the meat
Now add: anything that is left over in the fridge like:
sliced carrots, green, red, yellow, peppers, celery
30 minutes before ready to serve toss in any left over pasta. I usually cook 1/2 cup of macaroni and toss in.
I throw in all in a slow cooker and let it cook on low till the veggies are cooked.
you can also add left over meat chopped into small pieces. I have used pork, steak, roast beef at times.
Only seasoning I use is sea salt and ground pepper.
You can add left over tomatoes if you have any.
Enjoy!

Just returned from Suzanne Dean's beginning Copics class in Buffalo! TOTALLY worth taking! We learned lots of stuff and an easy way to use Copics. I need LOTS of practice but it shouldn't too be difficult.

Just do plenty of practicing! You will find it gets easier as you go. I use SU Markers and love my Derwent water color pencils. I love water coloring anyways.
Have fun!

ROTFL
I am such a DORK!
For some reason, I thought Poor Man's Soup was a rock boiled in water! No. Really!! I think it was in a children's book in the dark ages when I was a child...LOL
Your version sounds MUCH better!!

You and me both! I love my Derwents and my Prismas. I also watercolor with the SU pads, depends on what look I'm going for. Have you had any of the Prismas made in Mexico? I've been having problems with them. I think I'm going to try Khor-i-nor (spelling?) to see if I like them. I have to find a replacement for Prismas once my older ones are used up. I'll also have to try others from Derwent, the set I currently have is very pastel & I'd like more vivid colors for some images.

you're thinking of stone soup where 2 guys walk through a town & the people are curious about stone soup and the guys cajole the townsfolk that the soup would be oh so much better with an onion, a carrot, etc & by the time they collect all the veggies & bones they have a superb soup to share.

ROTFL! I almost peed my pants! Now that I remember I read my kids a story about Poor Man's Soup using a rock. I think the village people brought things to add to the pot. Such a long time ago! My babies are 32 & 34 yrs old now... Guess I am telling my age.....
I hope you make my version, it will taste better! You can also puree vegies that kids don't like and add to it... they won't know the difference!

Made 6 Thank you cards for my friend Michelle. And a thinking of you card that everyone signed at our Scrap-booking group tonight. They came out so darn cute, using the Iris Fold technique than stamped for the center. Wish I could get them onto the computer, scanner is still not talking to the computer. Wish they would just make up and get on with life!! LOL
Maybe if I make an extra and send it to Fran she could post it!

hello. I have finally detoxed from the cold and cough syrup! Boy was that awful! I went to the doctor last Tuesday so of course the last day of terrible symptoms was Monday! always happens!
A question I never thought of.. this isn't a SU only swap right? I use mainly SU for stamps but just want to check. I didn't want to not ask and be wrong so..
I still haven't thought of anything for food though.. I though mini meatballs in a crockpot or even soup (it is still winter in CT then) but I will have a bit of a drive. No more than 45 minutes but enough for those choices to be a terrible idea.. I don't care to see meatball colored seats in my car.. any ideas? mini sandwiches maybe? - open for all non-messy ideas!

Hi Jan, I'm glad you are feeling better. Use any stamp you like! Since you're traveling, how about hummus & pita bread? It's easy enough to transport.
I know I am fortunate to only have a 30-40 min drive butall I can imagine is my car seats covered in sauce! lol
I do actually have a secure lasgana carrier.. anyone up for lasagna for lunch?
or antipasto?

lasagna sounds wonderful. there is no oven, so we'll have to heat it at my house (3 minute car ride)
What is the difference between the shoebox swap and a make and take? Would it mean that if one were to do the make & take she would in essence prepare two shoebox swaps?

What is a shoebox swap?
Design a card that can be completed in about 15 minutes. Complete 2 (one as a sample for your shoebox & 1 for the hostess) and then make a "kit" for each person, which contains all the supplies to assemble your card, in your shoebox.
In lieu of a food item, you may provide a make and take for all. A make and take is when you bring all the saupplies to create a 3d project, like a box to put a present in or a gift card holder,

That is probably all in the first post, isn't it, and I did not even think to look there, and now I expect you are annoyed with me. So sorry. :(

I travel 2 hours to a crop once a month. I take all kinds of things that go in a crock pot. I prepare what I want to take the night before and put it in air tight containers. When I am ready to leave they go in a cooler with a couple of ice packs. They do fine traveling that way.
Good luck!

Mrs. Claus called, she says to tell that no good cookie eating, milk swigging husband of hers to get dressed and come home! The elves are on strike and there's reindeer poop to clean up!
