Okay time & location set. You wouldn't believe the trouble I had! I feel like people think stampers/scrapbookers are delinquents or something! One lady asked what the space would be used for and her response to me was, "Oh... we can't loan the room for those reasons." Totally made no sence because we met all the online requirements, but whatever. I found a place! Hope it works for everyone.
I didn't know what time to say since I've never done one of these before. So I reserved the room from 10 to 3:30. No problem if we get done and leave early, but if you ladies think I should change it to later we can take it up till 5:30.

Sorry to hear it was so difficult. Maybe she thinks we'll stamp on her walls and drop ink pads on her floor? After all, stampers can't be trusted right? LOL!
Would you care to share where this wonderful place you did find is? ;)

Yeah that lady was pretty weird.... I found a couple places, but I went with the one that didn't charge for use of the facility- the Northborough Library (I posted the info on the original post).

Oh, thanks. Northborough is fabulous! Thanks Lindsi.
Is this just a shoebox swap only? We will make one card for everyone in attendance correct? I am interested as long as I make it back in time. I will be in Texas at the Air Force Hospital going through in-vitro until Feb. 10ish. So I should be back in plenty of time.
Are there any restrictions? Only SU? Or can it be any vendor of good quality. Just thought I would ask these questions. I would most likely cut out everything before I leave in two weeks.

Well I hadn't thought about those questions! LOL... this is my first time doing one. Since most of what's on this site is SU why don't we say SU products for ink, paper & stamps, but NVR for embellishments?
Is that OK with everyone? If there are any issues with that let me know because it really doesn't matter to me, just easier to CASE in the future if we do it that way. So if there are no objections by the end of the day I'll add that info to the first post tomorrow morning.
Love to come, hopfully I can, but I need explanation of what a shoebox swap is. What acually is it? I've heard of it but never went to one. What would I need to do? I know it is something to do with cards or supplies placed in a box or is it a full card in the box that we trade. If somone could clear this up for me it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You design a card then bring all the supplies to make it in a shoebox with all the paper cut. Then at the swap everyone makes and takes home one of your cards. So you end up with one card from everyone. I've never done one either, but it sounds like fun. Hope you can join us!
I am interested in coming also. Is there going to be an admission charge? What about lunch? and is there going to be give aways? Just curious!
Audrey
No admission charge... I was just thinking about lunch. I have to see if we can have food in the room- I think we can but unsure. As for give aways, hadn't thought about that, probably would be fun!
I'll check on Monday about the food.
Hi, am looking forward to attending. I just had to make sure I didn't have to work! As it gets closer, just tell us how many cards to make!
Hugs, Audrey
Okay it's Feb 1st... so deadline to sign up... there are 8 people. That's a nice group, not too few and we should have plenty of time to finish all the projects!
Someone mentioned give-a-ways.... I'd love to do some, but I've got to make 150 candles and thank you notes this month for my brothers wedding.... soooooo if anyone else would like to handle this let me know!
I'm a demo. If you'd like, I can plan my card with Polka Dots & Paisley.
Debbi
Doesn't matter to me... I'm getting some new stuff from the Spring mini in the mail soon and figured I'd use that... but wanted to use something different than everyone else, that's all.
I am always looking for a challenge. The harder the card the better. I usually make mine for others medium in difficulty.
I am excited to get together. I was thinking about bringing my teenage daughter with as she is an avid stamper as well, and would love to come. Do you think it would be possible to make a 9th person, or to use her as a back up for any drop outs? She has her own stamp sets even. It was just a thought I had the other day, so no big deal if we don't want to add another to the list.

I don't have a problem with it. I'm going to use the same card for another shoebox swap I'm doing with some demos in my area so I'm already making a bunch more... what's one more?!
I dont think I understand what this swap is. Do I cut the paper and then assemble/stamp 9 cards? or do we bring the cut paper and stamps and we each make the other peoples cards? (like a stamp camp?)
Thanks,
Caitlin
