I just move to Mount Dora in Central Florida. I would love to meet and have a stamping event with stampers in my area. Hopefully we could meet once a month for great swaps, stamping projects and Chit Chat. People who do not stamp can only stand so much stamping talk and I would love to share my love of stamping. Please post if you live in my area and would like to meet up.
Are you coming to the Shoebox Swap tomorrow in Melbourne? (I'm sorry, I haven't looked at the thread for a few days).
Anyway, Mt Dora is such a pretty part of the state, I love it there! I *think* it's in March, but there is a huge craft fair there every year. My DIL may be participating as a vendor this year, but she said it's expensive to enter.
Also, Mt Dora isn't too terribly far for me, probably about a 2-hr drive. So, if you organize something for a weekend, I might be able to attend.
I am coming ro the Melbourne Shoebox Swap. My swaps are done and I am all packed up. I can't wait to meet up with you. I will definetly do something on the weekend if I can get enough interest.
I live in Orlando & would be very interested in a Central Fl get together! I was unable to go to the Mellbourne Shoebox Swap but would love to participate in one in the Orlando area.
We had talked about meeting at the next SU Regional and here its the information from the SU site. The next Florida Regional meeting is in Orlando, FL. at the Orange County Convention Center on Sept. 28, 29 with the registration date Aug. 8. WE will have to take this in to account if we meet quarterly.
I would love to do something as I live in Mount Dora. I am trying to get enough people interested in a monthly meeting with planned projects and techniques. I think if we only do several cards for the day and then a project and learn new techniques or specail card folds. We can all learn from each other and have a good time. Please post if you are interested and we can set something up.

This date was the regional they had this past year. I'm not sure why they keep it listed on the SU site - it's so confusing! I had to go dig out last year's calendar to check the date!
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you all knew and didn't make big plans around the date.
Supposedly, Leadership is going to be in Orlando next year. I've heard in years past that they sometimes combine Leadership with a Regional event . . . or at least they used to. So, I'm sort of hoping for that. I really enjoyed the Regional in Orlando - my husband and kids went and spent the day in Downtown Disney which the kids loved and was free!
About ten Central Floridians met last November when Sherristampsalot was visiting from Virginia. It was lots of fun meeting people we only communicated with on SCS. We even had a celebrity in our midst -- Kim, of My Favorite Things, was one of us! She lives in Eustis.
I would love to have a get together in the Orlando area. I live in Lakeland and am thinking that Melbourne might just be a little too far.
Let's get it together!!
Agree it would be great to find something closer to home (I live in Orlando, also) I could check with the local library. If some one helps me find a place to hold it I would happily organize a ShoeBox in the Orlando area. Anyone have a location idea?
Hi all! I live in Orlando, close to downtown, and would love to get together to make cards. But I am a ROOKIE!! I also don't have much SU stuff (I saw that was a requirement for the Shoebox Swap). Anyone interested?
Hi Meredith,
I live in Lakeland and would love to have a someone organize a get-together. I don't have any SU products but I just became a demonstrator (as soon as I sign the agreement) Lets have a get together so I can sell some products! LOL no just kidding. unless you want to...... :-)
Hi Ladies ~ Be on the lookout for another Melbourne Shoebox Swap for April 12. I see we have Lakelanders and Orlandoans (are those actual words?!) so perhaps a caravan could be in order for a really fun day of swapping, stamping and more! Mark it on your calendar and get ready for some FUN!

I would like to set a date for a Central Florida meeting of stampers to start a monthly Stampers Club. I live in Mount Dora and would love to host the first one at my home. I would like to do this the first Saturday of the month on March 8 at 10:00 AM. Please contact me if you want to come Email me at [email protected]. I have probably 150 current SU stamps and all the inks, markers etc. and we can have a great time stamping. You just need to bring a lunch, drink, snacks to share, paper, adhesive and your own personal stamping supplies to make cards. I will have a few sample cards made up and will teach a technique. I also live very close to Stampers Station in Mount Dora for a quick shopping visit.
No, I still plan of going to the April 12th Melbourne Shoebox Swap. I called and reserved the recreation room in the Mount Dora Library for the second Saturday of the month. The Library hours are 10 am - 2 pm. I am trying to get a monthly stampers club started and we can also do swaps.
I am waiting to hear back from the head Librarian but th seretary penciled me in and it looks good. I think that Mount Dora has a lot to offer with the Stamping Station nearby. LOL!!!! Ask all your friends and I will talk Michelle into coming too.
If you live in the central Florida area near Mount Dora drop in for our monthly stampers club on March 8th at 10 am. Bring a bag lunch and beverage.

Oh Vivian, I would love to come to one of your get togethers! I don't think March 8th will work for me though. Please keep me in the loop when u have another one. I live near between Leesburg & The Villages. I am not that far from u & I frequent Stamping Station from time to time. In fact, I was there this past week & I bought Punny Farm (MFT).
The meeting room is set for the March 8th Stampers Club. We will meet at the Mount Dora Library from 10 am till 1pm. I will have a make and take and teach a technique. I have a gal who contacted me to have information on becoming a demo when I first moved here 7 months ago. She decided she could not afford it at the time and has never stamped before as she is a scrapbooker. She is coming and bringing her friends so we will have a good time. I just got two more sign up tonight so I can't wait. Next month we may need a bigger room. LOL!!!!
I live in the Lake Mary Area and would love to join the group! I'll check to see if I can make it to the March gathering; we're hot and heavy in baseball season. I'll let you know shortly!
I would love for you to come and stamp with us. We have several gals already signed up and I plan a few make and takes and some techniques demonstrations. We will have a fun time so please come.
I checked out the room at the library and it is nice, bright and sunny with 4 tables. It will be perfect for our first meeting.
Helen and I are coming from Ocala! Vivian is great to be hosting us for this. We had a great time at a gathering at her house last weekend. Vivian does great stuff and we'll have a ball!
I have planned out Saturdays March 8th 10: 00 AM Stampers club meeting in the Library of Mount Dora, Florida. We are going to make a cute easter basket with the Good Egg stamp set, a St. Patrick's Day pin and pocket card with Pinch Proof, a Diorama card and I will demontrate 3 techniques. I hope you can come and join the fun. Call me at (352) 357 -7184.
I just heard from Teresa got2stamp and she is coming to the March 8 Stampers Club meeting in Mount Dora. Yeah. WE will have a good time so come and join us.
I am busy making the samples and cutting the cardtock for inividual packets for our first Stamping Club meetin. There still is room for a few more so contact me and bring a freind for a fun time stamping cards and projects. I have posted a few on my Blog:
Hey, Vivian. The Ocala library is totally **** about anything but water in the conference rooms. Is it going to be okay to have snacks and lunch in the library in Mt. Dora?
I just called the Mount Dora Library and they do allow food if it stays in the room. They also have several picnic tables if the weather is nice. Hope to see you there.
