I finally officially booked my room in Deb's townhouse.. haha procrastination, I tell ya!
Swap is ready to go!!! Had some fun inspiration last night, and I really love it!
Packing... I brought my tote and stuff upstairs... so I'll be packing that stuff tonight/tomorrow.. and need to do laundry before I can pack clothes :P
Need to read back on what I need to bring for the townhouse... and a mug.
We're leaving Lethbridge at 4:30.. so should be dropping off DH and Pais around 7:30, then bolting up there... It'll be around 9:30 when I get there, I figure.
I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Paisley's making it really easy for me to ditch her this weekend ;). Wishing these 2 yr molars would just finish cutting through, and life could carry on.
I'm bringing my cuttlebug and folders..... I'll bring my cricut mat... incase I get some cricut inspiration too. I probably won't bring my cartridges... since sounds like most of the ones I have will be there already ;)
I'll have to think about meals.... hadn't really thought about that yet!
don't have a clue what swap I'm going to do. I have about 30 ladies coming here for lunch tomorrow. After that, I'll get busy and get myself ready.
Robin and Gayle -- I got a little box in the mail today. Woot woot. Gypsy in my hot little hands.
I'm coming with very, very little. I really don't want to bring my house with me. Maybe I'll just work on one or two cards. Hey Robin, you wouldn't be interested in putting your Enveloper into the "buy, swap, trade table" would you? I know a lady that would be VERY interested in obtaining one of these. You must have another instruction sheet at home tho'. The one I brought here is not the one for the Enveloper. But I went online and got their templates.
I also ?? tore the cartilage in my left knee yesterday. Very swollen and very painful. Had an xray today and an MRI has been booked. On VERY good painkillers, so maybe the wine won't happen for me this weekend. :(

Gee Whiz Deb, you gotta watch where you're going!!! Oh my, well we will fetch and tote for you this weekend whilst you sit and direct with your wand! Then you are having a mere 30 for lunch?!? Wow where do you get your energy? Maybe all your guests could stop by Mac's take out window along the way!!!
Gypsy Girl yah! There are a number of updates to do on it through the Gypsy sync - if it starts to be mean to you just give me a call - have fun!!!!
I went out and bought a trolley type thing this week, finally, because if there's anything I dislike more it's carry and hauling all this stuff in and out! So it will be there for everyone's use.
I am actually getting organized well in advance, this probably means something is going to crap in at the last minute tho!! I have put each project in a 12x12 zip lock bag so I see it and plan it for embellishments. So let's see how this works!
Has anyone heard from Ruth? Is she on this side?
have a good day, going to be a barn burner here today - yippee!
Thought I would post what Dianne and I are bringing for our pic-i-nic on Saturday lunch and then whoever wants to join us can add below so we don't end up with 200 olives!! Please tho, just let me know how many will be joining us so we know how many cold cuts and buns to get.
Dianne & Gayle
Cold Cuts - various (anyone have any all time favorites)
Crusty Buns (home made big ones!)
marg mayo, relish, mustard
pickles, tomatoes, sweet onions, lettuce
bread knife and butter knives, plates and napkins
Lisa
Cheese and whatever else at the store that looks "yummy"

I can bring cheese and whatever else I see at the store that looks yummy.
Gail, I can bring some of the things on your list as well. You gals don't have to bring everything. Just let me know.
See you all Saturday.
Oh ya are we in the same room we were 2 years ago?
Check with Robin on the actual room as I'm not sure but I am pretty sure it's still the Land Science Building.
Also I checked with the Olds Aquatic Centre close to our dorms and it has the pool and hot tub that is open to the public from 4-8 and other times if anyone feels they want to soak their old bones from all their hard work!
Don't worry about us bringing lots of stuff it's just what we do!
I'll be okay Gayle, I'm gonna leave my wand at home. I'm not bringing a lot with me, but I'm not thinking about it until after lunch today. I'm all ready for my ladies and I still have about 1 1/2 hours until they get here. Wow, that's a first -- I wonder what I forgot??
I too can bring something along for lunch -- I'll shop on the way and find something. Maybe a veggie tray, or fruit tray -- any preference anybody?
I'm not sure about the wine :( :( tho. With my wee little pill that is getting me from am to pm, I might want to be very careful with alcohol. I'm going to try a little at noon today and see what happens.
Only 2 days OMG. I haven't even decided on a swap yet!

Oh and the updates Gayle -- I'm so computer illiterate, I'll wait until my 2 year old grandson is here to help me LOL

Okay, my swap is done. I started out with one plan and ended up with something so completely opposite it isn't even funny. I am pleased though lol. That happens a lot with me.
If anyone has SU Watercolour Trio from the Summer mini, would you mind bringing it as it will make my swap go a little faster. Thanks.
Now just to decide what I am bringing. I really want to pack light, and we all know that it is not my forte (although I did once, right Robin?). I have NO idea what I want to work on so that doesn't help either.
Oh well, I will let my mind ponder it as I get back to work.
See everyone soon.
Oh.. Adelee and I will not likely make dinner on Friday. I have to work booooo.
Happy Wednesday everyone.

Lunch - I will bring fruit. Maybe it will make it into a salad, maybe it won't. You will all have to wait and see.
Deb - If you decide you want wine, remember Gayle has a dolly. We can strap you to it and wheel you around, so don't worry about a thing.....we will be good to you. Sorry to hear about your knee - I know it is painful. No Gypsy here yet.
Lisa - Same place as 2 years ago.
Cindy - Sweet (snort)
For all of you waiting to decide what to bring, bring Christmas cards as I am thinking if enough of us do, we can sing Christmas Carols, kind of one of those Christmas in July kind of events.
Christine - Boooooohissssssss on not making it for supper. We'll catch you at the townhouse. Remember to wear your bells.
Glad to hear everyone is getting in the mood.....Only 2 more sleeps
Ok.. I'll do lunch. Would cookies be ok? I have some dough chilling in the fridge right now.. since Paisley was very insistent that we make cookies today (although we didn't actually bake them.. just mixed them). That would keep. Otherwise, I could pick up a potato salad or something at Walmart on Saturday morning.... (which would work too.. since I'm usually up early and if we aren't starting til 9). I'll let you guys vote (ok.. really it will be the first person who responds that will decide....)

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas -- oh brother, enough ALREADY

Rest your knee up for the weekend Deb. Then sit all weekend too ;). Does a cartilage tear cause swelling? I have a pretty nifty ice pack for knees... it's a knee cuff attached to a cooler full of ice water... and it circulates icy cold water through the cuff on demand. I loved it when I was having to ice my knee so much. I can bring it if you want... it's just sitting in the closet.. waiting for me to re-injure my knee real good (which happens about once a year.. sadly)
If you have room for it, I would love to see it. Actually I haven't had to ice today at all, but I am sore tonight. I just spent the last few hours deciding what I'm bringing and I have it all packed.
ONE SMALL ROLLING TOTE LADIES!!!!! And I'm not adding another thing.
(I sure hope I don't have to borrow all weekend - I don't think I forgot anything)

Something sweet and she's not talking about herself
Robin
Fruit smoochies (that's a fruit tray and fruit salad all "Smooched" together!
I'm here and I'll call you later. Got back safely but had problems setting up the computer. DH (bless his cotton socks) hadn't installed the new Shaw modem so I had no internet nearly all day!!! Somehow we ended up with two modems, the first would not connect at all but I did get online with the second one so now I'm happy! Didn't realise there was another box around with the second one in so I wasted a lot of time.
Need to get something to eat, not sure if it's lunch or breakfast I need. Fortunately not too jetlagged this time. See you all tomorrow. As for my contribution to picnic, will have to see what's available locally and what we don't have!
Ruth - I vote for no contribution necessary for you. You just pack a wee bag and come on over. I'll bring enough for both of us to contribute.

I told Ruth that she was NOT to bring anything, but, that she herself could be our table centre piece in her beauty and splendor!! Maybe with a small UK flag tucked in her teeth tho...you think??
We have lots of stuff for lunch now anyways ladies, so don't worry about bringing anymore, seriously, we probably already have enough for a football team, and a hungry one at that.
One more sleep!!!
So who is ready with their craft stuff????
Come one, how many bags are out there???
I have the whole back of my van, and plan on filling it! You never know what a girl might need! To heck with minimal packing!
My goal this weekend is to make as many cards as I can with scraps...so I have 2 things full of scraps, and my 8.5x11 case of paper. everything else should fit in my rolling tote.

Too funny but thanks a million, Gayle!
No wonder I love coming to AB, you girls are just so generous with EVERYTHING! My case will be minimal just 'cos I'm flying but I'll make sure I have everything I need for my simple shoebox swap. Like Tams, I think I'm packing 'scraps' to try to make myself use them up! It's a while since I did any real stamping so I'm excited.

Robin,
I'll bring my $15 tomorrow night since I obviously forgot to mail it.

We could sing "God Save the Queen" to help her aclimatize.
I haven't packed anything out to the car yet. And I need to go through and make sure I haven't forgotten anything. And I need to pack my jammies and a coffee cup.

Robin,

I need to remember to call the college in the morning.. and make arrangements for my late arrival. Anything after 9, you need special arrangements.. and highly unlikely I'll be there that quick (although I imagine the drive Crossfield to Olds will fly by quicker than it should, since I'll be excited, and alone)
OK I'll bite, what's a quickie in your world, cause in mind it's not something you eat!!!
Does anyone have one of those foodangled machines that you plug your IPOD into and it acts like a speaker to hear the music?? OK I'm not that electronically inclinded or up with the new devices, but thought I could bring my IPOD tunes and we could have some music. Mind you with my taste, you guys might want to bring some of yours!!! Can you say Frank Sinatra and the Bee Gees...
okay, I'm packed -- take note ONE SMALL ROLLING TOTE AND ONE SMALL CARRY BAG -- that's it, that's all, no more, no less, done!
Regina, if I remember correctly: turn west off Hwy #2; turn south onto the road to the College; the townhouses are the last left-hand turn; the admin bldg where we need to check in is the second last left-hand turn. Park in the parking lot and walk to the south-east into the building. On the right-hand side is a window where you will check in.
What time is everyone planning on arriving? I can go anytime during the day. I was thinking I would like to get there sometime between 4 and 5 pm. But if that is too early for others, I'll arrive later.

Sounds like Ruth's flight arrives just before 4 pm ~ so Dianne and I will roar up to the terminal, throw Ruth in (and her stuff) and head east? north? and be there about 5ish....unless Ruth needs to stop somewhere.
I just had a brain bump and realized if I packed now, rather than in the a.m., my big strong guys can load my car for me, down the 2 flights of stairs tonight...then I don't have to do all that hauling tomorrow! Not bad thinking for a blonde ah?!? Because unlike others I have MORE than 1 rolling tote.

Regina,
Deb's directions are spot on. If you go to the Olds College website, you can get a copy of the college map. There is also a map posted in the big parking lot. Plus there are security fellows around, and they are super nice to deal with.....and just so you know, I will be fully clothed for the weekend. The girls have migrated even further south since last year. LOL
Deb - I'm wanting to be there around 5pm
Gayle - get those fellows to heave-ho for you.
Tamara - the trip will take no time at all.........

I'm just going to run down and find out if my quickies are ready. That's the only hints I'll give! lol
I've just got my food and 12x12 paper to throw in my jeep. Had to go pick up cutting blades today at MIchaels b/c I didn't want to bring my guillotine cutter. Brought the wrong coupon.
I'll be itching to head down as soon as I'm awake in the morning. Will have to restrain myself. Had to tell dh that I'm leaving tomorrow. He thought since it was a weekend thing that I was leaving on SAt morning.
