Calling All GA Girls! Get Together***DATE CHANGE*** March 24th **FINALLY UPDATED**
****FINAL COUNT 32. PLEASE SEE POST #196 FOR SOME FINAL DETAILS****
Deb Cozzone and I have booked a room @ the Roswell, GA Library on Saturday, March 24th from 10-4. We had to change it from the 10th because of regionals and the library had a conflict on that day too.
Lets keep the same format as we have in the past:
Shoebox Swap, Dirty Stamper Game, Demos, Door Prizes, Pizza, Snacks & LOTS OF FUN!
I will keep updates in this, the origional, post.
I will also add directions and other info as we get a little closer to the date.
Let me know who is coming so that we have an idea for how many swaps to make. I will assume that everybody coming will be participating in the shoebox swap unless they tell me otherwise.
*****We will close registration on March 17th so that we can do a final count a week out!******
RULES FOR SHOEBOX SWAP: *****SEE POST # 108 FOR UPDATED SWAP RULES**************
*Full cards only if your project is a card.
*Please try to use only SU products and current stamps. If you can't do this it's okay but we love to show our creations to our customers and can't show other products.
*Make sure to bring enough for each person to make ot take a card. (see post 108 for clarification)
*Bring everything needed for the card; stamps, ink, embellishments, hole punches, cutting tools, scrub & mist...etc. Label everything! Each person should bring your own basic adhesive to carry with you.
*Precut as much as possible and put all of the ingredients in individual baggies. It helps to have one baggie per person so that if we run out of time we can grab the bag and assemble at home.
*Any project is fine, cards, 3-D, mini books...be creative.
*Make a sample for your station and put your name with it so we know who designed each card as we move around the room.
*Bring your best work!
(I'm sure I forgot something so I will edit as needed.)
*****See post 28 for more swap instructions*******
DIRTY STAMPER GAME:
This game is so much fun!
*Gifts should be at least a $10-20 value.
*Make sure they are wrapped
*Gifts can be SU merchandise, hand made crafts, girly things, any stamp or scrap related products...etc.
*If you bring a stamp set, please no used or retired sets.
*We will draw #'s and go over the rules before we start. Allison?
LUNCH & SNACKS
*We thought Pizza would be the easiest. We can have it delivered. If pizza is out of the question then maybe we can do something else. Let me know.
*We will bring a few things to munch on but if you want to bring something please do. Chocolate is always appreciated and needed.
DEMO'S:
*Bring them on. Lets see some cool projects and techniques!
DOOR PRIZES:
*All donations welcome!
COST:
*FREE* ....except for lunch if you want in on what we order!

Hi,
I drove up to Nashville in August to do a shoebox swap. So glad to be going to one in GA. Will be looking forward to spring and passing on the info to my stamping friends.
Thanks,
Brenda
I am going to subscribe to this thread. Not sure yet if I can make it in March, but want to keep updated on what is going on. I am in Alpharetta so this would be real close for me. And I know where the Roswell Library is, so I won't get lost like I did trying to get to the one in Lawrenceville.

Hi, this is my very first post to SCS. I am in Dallas, GA. I am fairly new to stamping and scrapbooking. I am not a demo so can I still participate in the get togethers?

You will love a shoebox swap. You learn soooo much.
I don't see any reason you couldn't participate.
Hey photo Girl,
Welcome to SCS!!! We would love to have you! Our shoebox swap is a ton of fun and you will make so many beautiful things. I really hope you can make it.
Do you have any SU products for your swap? If not, let me know and I will be happy to help you out. I have a ton of stuff and will let you borrow whatever you need so that you can participate. Our gatherings are open to everyone but we try to keep our swaps made with SU.
Let me know if you are coming and feel free to bring a friend if you want!

The vast majority of my supplies are all SU. Cardstock, all of my stamps, I have about 20 sets and a few rollers (maybe 3). All of my ribbon and eyelets are SU as well. I am a CMC so my scrapbooks are not SU but any card that comes from my home is SU all the way. I only 2 of the ink pad sets though (EE & BB). What is the ShoeBox Swap? I read the instructions but again, I am very new to the wonderful online world of stamping. There are actually 2 SU demos in my sub so that's how I learned about it. I have never actually been to a true SU party but have been to card camps and 1 retirement party. I look forward to meeting you all!
I just noticed this thread - I live in Georgia and I would like to attend. Sounds like a lot of fun. I live in Newnan, GA, so Roswell would not be too bad and I would like to join in on the fun. Count me in!
I also have never done a ShoeBox Swap so please bear with me and explain the Instructions again. Are we suppose to get all the supplies together and put them in baggies for everyone to make something? Also, the Dirty Stamper game sounds like fun.
Looking forward to meeting everyone - Thanks
Laura
I would love to join in on this event as well! Fairly new SU demo but have a huge, growing, enthusiastic base of customers so I would love to meet more demos for inspiration, camaraderie and great idea exchanges! Count me in unless something comes up but I'll wait to hear more info from the organizers soon.
Please count me in, I believe I am available that weekend, my birthday (and my husband's birthday) is March 8th and not sure if we have plans yet, but will say yes until I know otherwise.
Thanks for organizing. If anyone from Woodstock wants to ride over with me, let me know.
Maria

I have added PhotogirlCMC, jamlau, JSMILLS and stephens3181 to the list. I look forward to meeting all of the newcomers. We really have a fun time and I am sure that you will like it.
Here is some clarification on the shoebox swap.
Everybody who comes (unless you tell me otherwise) will be bringing a card or project for each person to make or take. We recommend putting all of the pre-cut cardstock and any embellishment into a baggie for each person. We will have a final # a week or so before the event. This makes it easy for everyone to just pickup one of each thing, especially if we run late and need to make it at home. Make sure you bring everything needed for your project, like inks, Stampin'Mist & pad...etc. Each person will set up their stuff at a station and then everybody rotates around the room and makes each project. You can go at your own pace that way.
Please bring a finished sample of your card so that we can see it as we are making it. Also, put your name at your station so that we know who brought what. It is always fun to put cards with faces. When we are finished I will collect all of the premade samples and we will donate them to an organization as a service project. I will supply the envies.
Try to use SU products for your swaps if possible.
I hope I explained this okay. If anybody has anymore questions, please ask.
Oh! This will be so much fun. . .and close for me! Wahoo! So, count me in for the Shoebox Swap and dirty stamper game. Please let me know if I can do anything to help!
Hey Pam,
Can we also do a normal full card swap too? I would love to have more idea's besides what we are making that day. We have enough time to prepare a swap in addition to the shoebox swap. What do you think?
This sounds great! Please count me in - that IS my anniversary but am seriously doubting that my husband will have an all-day activity planned, so I'll plan to be there (and will of course let you know asap if anything comes up)! Thanks for organizing this - looking forward to it!
This sounds like lots of fun but i am not sure i will be in town... i will write this info down and in a few more weeks i should know my plans... thanks for organizing this... i have never attended any and would really love to.
