My next group stamp & scrap is June 25th, Friday 6pm to 10pm. As always it is free, bring a snack to share if you would like to. Bring whatever projects you want to work on....I was happy to make new friends at the last one and hope to meet more of you really soon. I live on the Southwest side of Tucson, let me know if you can make it and I will send you directions.
-Happy Stamping and Happy Memorial Day.
P.S. I really hope to join Michelle and Tanya at the brayering workshops...not sure I have $125 to spare.

Oh so sorry, I thought this thread was just for Tucson. I live on the Southwest side of Tucson. There seems to be at least three stampers on this thread that live on the east side of Tucson- Rita Ranch is on the east side of Tucson.

One more thing for the Tucsonians....
My friend is organizing a scrap retreat at the Clarion Hotel, July 9th and 10th. It is very reasonably priced at $100 and is a 24 hour scrap retreat that includes sharing a room at the hotel and food. If you want to know more about this just send me an email and I will email you all the details. I will be there and am hoping to find more guests to attend. (oh, it is a scrap retreat but I am sure that cardmakers are welcome to attend.

Thanks,
Staci

Hey Staci~
If you can, it is well worth the money! Plus you get around $60 in supplies- the stamping paper pad, a brayer, stamp set or two, versamark pad and marker, gel pen and I can't remember what else. You don't get the same supplies at the advanced class. I had Michelle sign my brayer=) She's such a sweet person, I enjoyed her so much.
Anyhow...once I finish my craft room I need to have you over for an evening of stamping. I'm getting ready to go put a 2nd coat of paint on right now. Can you guess what color? LOL!
So I'm selling my big ole desk...interested? I'll swap SU product for it, lol.
See you soon...

Sure I could use directions and names of inexpensive places to stay in the area. I learned about this past January's class too late and rather than wait to see if she was going to have another one in Phoenix, thought I would go ahead a sign up for the Tucson one. I'm looking forward to going and meeting her.

On an off note, does San Xavier del Bac have Sunday services? You get great lighting at sunrise to photograph it but don't want to be there if they hold services.

I am not sure about services at San Xavier, the last time I went to take photos there, they were having mass but there was lots of other tourists hanging about, I don't think it interferes with there services. I am a photographer too and I agree that sunrise pics are great but am not usually motivated enough to get out that early by myself. If you want to carpool I would love to go with you on your photo safari.
As for places to stay, I am a fan of Marriott and their chains. They ALWAYS have clean rooms. I stayed at the Clarion by the airport this weekend and it was nice (not as clean as I would have liked) but our stay included 2 complimentary drinks at the bar, and a wonderful breakfast buffet in the morning.

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond. We're up to our elbows in DIY projects...one of which is my craftroom=) Tomorrow my carpet gets installed and then I get to put it back together, finally!
Anyhow...with that said I haven't had the chance to look for hotels etc around the area. I'll see if my husband can do that this weekend and get it to you. Can you PM me your email?
Have a good weekend!

I'm new to Sierra Vista, and wondering if there's anyone out there that wants to get together and stamp or crop? I usually go to Tucson on the weekends for something or other, so would even meet up with folks there on the weekend, depending. It's always more fun to stamp with other folks versus stamping alone!!!

Hey ladies! I'm in Scottsdale until the first week of December. I'm going crazy trying to find a local scrapbook store...all the ones my GPS sends me to are closed! Is there anyone local that can point me in a good direction? Maybe an evening crop? Somebody else here must be a crafter??

Hi there!

There aren't anymore Scrapbook stores in Scottsdale. There is a fantastic Rubber Stamp store in downtown Scottsdale called The Frenzy Stamper...not really a traditional SB store, but they are starting to carry more papers.

There are several SB stores (LSS) over in the East Valley...Mesa & Chandler. You may really like Scrapbooks Etc...it's the largest one in the Valley, over 5,000 feet and tons of stuff. They also own Bazzill cardstock. ;)

I forgot to add that Scrapbooks Etc is located on University in Mesa...closed on Sundays. Lots of classes, lots of stuff...worth the visit. I heard that ladies/crafters drive from out of state to visit there.
