Hey Brenda. Our names aren't green yet so if you don't get my check by tomorrow (I put it in the mail Monday afternoon) then let me know and I can PayPal you and you can just tear up my pretty Astros check when you get it. Let me know...
Celina, I got it but I am at work and I can't remember who you are paying for. When I get home, I will change it.
Phew - no worries, Brenda. I just wanted to make sure it got to you. Now I can relax knowing my place on the list is secure (and I paid for Katrina, Tina R and Rosemary so they're safe too!)
I know this is a Christmas card swap but can I do a calendar - like a Happy New Year sentiment with a calendar to go along with it? I am stumped for a card idea but that one keeps coming back to me...
Let me know what you think.
Brenda, hope you are feeling better.
Have a great holiday everyone.
Be safe ...
That is a cool idea! It will be fun to make something that we can all use. :-)
BYONT?? So we are making our own name tags, eh?? Mine should be easy - HOLLY??? ROFL!! Stamp a bunch of holly all over it! LOL
I have my card figured out - just gotta cut cs. Got a door prize almost figured out, maybe... now for the name tag and the snack. Any ideas for snacks? Or do y'all want brownies again? :-)

Me WANT brownies
Holly, we will do a vote for the person with the most awesome nametag. The winner will get a prize! Last time Michelle Brown won!

Will post the plan tonight and FAQ document. Sorry. I though I did it a long time ago! OOPS!!!!
Brenda - Dana is that elusive breed of stampers who actually PLAN things instead of doing them 35 seconds before. We are in awe of this creature, and we follow her sparkly organized glow as the wise men followed the Christmas star. I'm speaking of course, for Libby and myself.
We've documented her habitat and followed her with an infrared camera and we are attempting to breed her, as we fear she may be one of just a handful of her species left in the papercrafting world.
Actually, we were SUPPOSED to do all that, but knowing us, we'll wait till 5 minutes before she's extinct and then it will all go downhill from there.

XOXOXOX

I did quite well on the GRE----higher than what was required. I could've done better, but I just didn't have the time to prepare. I did significantly better on the math portion than the verbal portion. MAKES NO SENSE!!!

Very cool, Brenda! Back in the day you had to sweat it out for 6weeks before you knew how well (or not!) you did. Gotta love technology for its instant gratification. Congrats on your test - now you can concentrate on the swap!
Our table will probably take 10minutes for all four cards! LOL... seriously, though, our table will be very simple due to all the swap virgins. I wanted to keep it simple so as not to scare them away. So I think you will only need adhesive at our table!
The final count is 22. Breakfast starts at 9 a.m. We should be finished by 6 p.m. I need some advice on the schedule. What are some things we can do to s-t-e-t-c-h things out a little bit? The problem is that we only have 22 cards and that we need a lot of time between lunch and dinner so that a) Karmen has enough time between meals to cook and b)there is enough time to get hungry again. I know we can take a lot of breaks but what other things can we do? Rae Anne suggested a white elephant gift exchange. Any other ideas? I was thinking of maybe even having some stamping challenges to complete? Ideas, comments, thoughts?????
We did a challenge at the Lone Star Stampers group one time that was fun. Two people at a time got up in front of everyone at a table and they had been given a lunch bag with some truly random supplies in it.
They each had one minute to take everything in the bag and make a card out of it. The cards were pretty hilarious. There were little stampy prizes for the winners. We could vote on the cards or something. I could ask Carol for other things she's done that I can't remember - they were always fun.
OK, don't throw anything at me, but is dinner a necessity? We will probably be finishing up pretty quickly with just 22 cards and we usually finish up lunch close to 1pm (if we start at noon). In theory, we could be done with all our cards by 4pm, even with breaks and catch-up time. I would be OK with packing up when we are done stamping and missing dinner but that's just me ...
I keep seeing people talking about DOOR PRIZES ....but there is nothing in the original post about this thing.....is everyone bringing a door prize as well?
And for the record I LOOOOOVE Lydia's suggestion of the challenge of making a card out of whatever is in a bag!! Awesome!!!

It won't bother me to finish up at 4pm and head on home. Most of us are pretty worn out after 6 hours of stamping, and it can be a struggle to push through the last couple hours to finish by 9pm (remember that first one?? LOL).
As for the door prize, I'm wondering about that too. I have one ready just in case, since we've had them in the past. The prize is usually stamping related (stamps, ribbons, handmade stampy items, gift cards to shop at Michaels or HL, etc...) and usually no more than $20 or $25.
I just remembered! ACK! I have to have 2 cards already stamped - one for my table so people know what they are stamping, and one for the display case. ACK! Gotta get busy!
Dumb question - are we stamping at 9am, or are we eating at 9am and then stamping at 9:30?? Just wondering if I need to show up at 8:30 to sign in and eat so we can sit down at stamp at 9am........

I haven't made the final schedule yet because I wanted to get ya'lls opinions, but I am pretty sure we can be done around 4p.m. Once we are done, you are free to leave. Or you can hang around and have dinner. You don't HAVE to stay for dinner, BUT it's already been paid for. I, personally, want to avoid going home and want to s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out as much as I can!!!! (plus I crave Karmen's cuisine!)
Those of us who are staying for dinner can bring a project to work on. I am already making 30 sets of my card, so I am planning on making the leftovers. You can take advantage of some uninterrupted stamping time AND all that table space! Some of us are even planning on staying AFTER dinner for fun conversation and some wine. It's YOUR day, so do what YOU want! It really makes no difference to me. I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO ENJOY THEMSELVES.

Breakfast is at 9:00 a.m. and we are stamping at 9:30 a.m. You can start setting up at 8:30 a.m. or later.

The doorprize is optional. If you bring one, then you get to enter the drawing. I also like Lydia's challenge idea! I think we'll give it a whirl!!!
