Jessica you can do either - you can buy something or you can bring something handmade
Or both! I've actually bought the things to go into my basket, but I may decorate the basket to spiff it up a bit. Last year, we had lots of great door prizes that truly were a combination of bought, handmade, and some combo thereof.
I'm not going to be able to attend after all. So sad. But good news is that I have been in touch with Susan Rosser--she was next on the list if I read everything right--and she can make it in my place.
You all don't have too much fun without me, ya hear!

What? Awwwww, that stinks, Sharon! You will be missed!
I don't care where we go, as long as someone gives me directions and tells me a time!! I am driving 10hrs that day and need to know what time to get up that morning and leave!!

10 hours? Are you trying to win the prize for furthest traveler? ;)
Are you coming alone? Maybe you can exchange cell numbers with one of us to touch base.
I am going to visit my brother after it is over with in San Antonio, so I will be staying in TX for a few days. My roomie(Melanie/Melmel) gave me hers today so I won't be out there on a limb, alone!!!
Everybody keeps raving about Gloria's over at the Highlands for Mexican but I haven't tried it out yet and Abuelo's is good also. Although I love the OG too.
I would like to get an informal head count on dinner for Friday night. YES, there has been the thought of Mexican food!! Not a chain but a very good local place called Nelda's. It is only a few miles away from the hotels and the church where we will be stamping.
JMHO, Abuelo's is quite pricey and I've heard Gloria's is too. The Highlands is a neat area but on a Friday night a lot of the restaurants get pretty crowded and the shops close around 9 so there would not be much browsing time. If you are in the area earlier, you could look around there and then shoot over to Nelda's-it's not really that far. Remember, nothing is set in stone just yet. Keep a check on the thread for final details. I can also give you my cell number closer to the time if you need any info.
***If you are planning on coming to dinner that Friday night please PM me as that would be easier for me to keep track of so I can give the restaurant a head count. Feel free to also post here on the thread so all your peeps will know that you are going!
DANG!!! This is what caffine at night will do to ya!!

Yep that's what I was thinking. Staying away from that area on a Friday night is a great idea.

Gloria's isn't pricey for Dallas. However, when I moved up here from Austin, I thought, "Good Lord, you're paying what?! for Mexican food?!" Dallas restaurants are simply pricier than other cities. So, it's definitely pricey for elsewhere, and in my book, often too pricey for me! It's hard to get out for under $20 a head when you count in tax and tip. However, it's fabulous. It's also not Tex-Mex. It's a mixture of many Latin cuisines, mostly South American. I think they do have some items that are closer to Tex-Mex though. It's also generally loud (at least the ones in Dallas and the one in Colleyville). They do usually have a great patio though and good drinks. If you have time and are willing to spend the money, it's a great place to eat. However, I think it'll be a hard location for an event like this as it truly is loud, it's hard to seat a high number of people unless you're in an off time (and service with large parties is really slow there), and well, it's pricey. And yes, I admit it, I'm a foodie. Those of you that have met me aren't surprised as I ain't small!
I think y'all suggested Nelda's last year, didn't you? It sounds like a cool place. I'm sad I'll have to miss dinner too! Actually, I'm totally jealous, hence my stalking and posting. It was fun last year and a great chance to meet and get to know some of the ladies we stamped with the next day!
Yeah - I took Andy to Gloria's - not knowing what it was - and it was pretty pricey, even for lunch.
And it's not really the right atmosphere for our loud, obnoxious group, kwim?
Plus, I would really rather pluck my own eyebrows than go to Highland Village on a weekend evening. Seriously - MADHOUSE.
I'm all for Nelda's, never been there, but I've heard really good things. And it's away from all the mall/highland village traffic. Plus it right around the corner from my house, which is always convenient.

Gonna miss you this year, Sharon! Insert sad face :(!
Jackie, go on and deposit my check as Susan is going to reimburse me.
Tex, Becky and Shannan, I'm gonna miss all of you too and was really looking forward to being with everyone. Grandkids birthdays are in early April but for some reason their parties are on May 3 and their mom has called in the top dogs. Will be helping them out with twelve 8-10 year olds. Our job is to bring 7 tents for their campout. Oh well, at least I'll get to sleep (with luck) in the house. :-)
The upside is that I'll be close enough to make a quick trip to San Marcos to see Jeanne S. (Tex, pray it doesn't decide to snow! lol)

This might eb a stupid question, but I read the rules for the cards, and while I know it is SU! cardstock only, what about DP? I didn't know if a great DP in colors that are a good SU! match for the CS we are using for the base and mats could fall into the fabulous "orange & lime ribbon example" category you gave! Just wondering! Trying to get my swap nailed down, I'm sure even if I decide on something ealry I'll end up changing my mind Thursday night!

Thanks!
It's still SU only. Believe me, I love dp! And I hardly own any SU. But them's the rules! ;)
And kel17 - you were a lot further down on the list. I think it's moved up at least 5 slots in the last week. I don't know if we'll get through anymore names on the wait list or not. I just depends on if anyone cancels. We had a waitlist of almost 20 people when we started.....
