Well, I had a dream last night where I showed up to the Shoebox swap w/o my shoebox, door prize, or supplies! Not only did I not get to participate and not receive a door prize, but Shelli Gardner was there so I was especially embarrassed... There was lots of cool new products we could buy, too, but of course, I didn't have my purse or any money on me either.

I'm sorry to say that I don't think I'm going to be able to come now.
Unfortunately my home and yard were severely damaged in last nights storm. We'll be in a hotel for a few days (hopefully only a few days) while temp repairs are made. :(
I think the stress of working and trying to see to the necessary repairs to the house might be a bit much and I wont be able to dedicate the appropriate energy to preparing for the swap.
I would have loved to have met so many of you ladies.

Well, doggone it! I just found out that the big Girl Scout Day at our local waterpark is the same day as the swap. And I'm the troop leader. So sad. But the girls worked so hard and sold over 2500 boxes of cookies between the 12 of them, and this is their big event that they voted to attend. There is no way that I can miss it. DH will be out of the country on business and can't take my place.
So, I have a spot to sell to the next person on the waiting list.

How messed up are my priorities .... I'm more upset about not being able to attend than the loss of my trees, fence, windows and roofing? But there's just too much to do to get it cleaned up so I can't spare the time; plus there are a number of older neighbors that dont have anyone to help them, so my son and I will be stepping up where we can. Thank God no one was hurt.

OK, so my friend melmel convinced me to go to this swap because dbaker3 is not able to go (pooh!), so I am her replacement (yay!). I have never been to a swap, but SO very excited and nervous too. Nobody knows me on SCS because I never post! Gasp, I know, I am terrible since I have been coming to this site for years. However, I am inspired by donna to upload a pic of me and upload some cards so that I can say I do in fact have a gallery on SCS. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you all and to learn some more techniques!
