2nd Annual HPC Convention July 24-27 2009... part 3
2nd Annual HPC in Columbus, Ohio July 24-27, 2009
Ladies, this is a thread to discuss the very informal (Swap) Hos n Pimps Convention or Home Pro Cardmakers Convention
A list of who's coming etc. is kept updated on post #2
We're getting together:
July 24-27 in Columbus, Ohio.
Hostesses: Manda Doorley (manda_dex) and Heather Tripp (chris1josh2)
The "Stable" will be:
***once I have a better head count I will have this information. we are currently working on getting pricing and information to make a decision to which hotel.
*As with last time if you want to room with people, that is great... it will help with your total cost for the room. However, we will want to know that as well, so we can keep a running tally of total rooms we need to reserve as well as working on getting the best pricing.
The closest airports to the Easton area where you will be staying will be Port Columbus (cmh). This is about a 15-30 min drive depending on the time of day you land. Most of the hotels we are looking at have shuttle services, plus there are always cabs there to take you if someone can not make it there to pick you up.
If you are thinking about renting a car so you can go anywhere other than the hotel area and airport keep the following in mind. The area where you will be staying is an outdoor venue with shops and restaurants a plenty within walking distance. There is also a Michael's, Jo'Ann's, and Archievers in that area as well. There are a few Hobby Lobby's as well, but those do require driving distances...so we can either car pool or figure a way to get there!
Shoebox Swap location...This is still TBD...some possibilities are my house (if I can kick my hubby out for a day!), a conference room at the hotel, or possibly a LSS. The downside to the later, is there is not one that I frequent that I can say please close for an entire day for just us!!!
The rest of the time were there, things are going to be pretty fluid. This is a very informal get-together; there are no planned/organized events. No one is charge of entertainment, meals, and rides.
Kids are more than welcome. Scrappy will be bringing her sidekick, Baby Bella, with her just about everywhere she goes, so we dont want you thinking that you cant do the same.
Ma Ma Ho doesn't want to see any nasty feet/pedicures on any of you!
Heather and myself are the point of contact for the Pimps & Hos convention. We will keep a list of who is coming and will answer any questions you have. Our email address: [email protected], and [email protected] ** Please send me a PM for updating the post on attending, rooming and attending the Shoebox swap part.*** This tends to be a little chatty, and I don't always have time to read all posts, so PM's are the best way.
We would love to meet each and every one of you. All of you make SCS one of the very best things about our day. Weve made so many friends. . .Weve had some really great conversations. . .And, weve Rolled-On-The-Floor-Laughing-Our-Asses-Off more times than we can possible remember. So, think about it, and post here if you'd like to attend so we have an ideal of how many people are going to get together.

The bad news about JA's is they did not have what I wanted (after I called and asked and they said they had it ~ they had the PAPER not the chipboard) the good thing is I found something else that will work just as good (K&CO Embossed Stickers) Ya you heard me stickers! but they have glitter on them, and they will keep the book flatter, which is going to end up being around 35 pages when all is said & done.
I did 30 6X6 pages tonight :p Ok, it wasn't that hard, 6X6 Paper, advice card done on computer, and sticker embellishment (some with ribbon) but hey, it's 30 pages! Still have to do the covers....

BTW, doesn't look like Ferentz is going to get the Browns NFL Job, which means no vacancy @ Iowa, which means no coaching changes here in Madison. It would have gotten pretty interesting if Ferentz left, cause Iowa is a dream job for Coach B. He would go back to his alma-mater in a heartbeat. So we want Ferentz to stay @ Iowa.....the longer the better, although rumor is he wants out and wants to go back to the NFL.... :(

ok all the Ho's have to send thought waves "Ferentz stay, Ferentz stay"
If one participates in the shoebox, does she make kits enough for everyone, or just for a limited amount, say 10 for example? If for all, how much notice before the event is the final head count?

we make enough for the entire group. I'm not sure how much notice there will be, but I'm sure we'll know at least a month or two prior to July, a more accurate number

awe, thanks! Be sure to check out my blog on Wednesday because I am at the end of the blog hop for MFT and will be able to give away a stamp set left from my comments!!!!!!!!!!!!
LJ, love the idea of the advice card book! The girls did that at my bridal shower, one of the comments was : Don't do it........
I do too! We saw them at a Party Supply Store and mom was going to buy them, and I was like "HELLO MOM I can make a book like that!" So she said "OK" and put the dorky cards back. Hee-Hee! I'll post pics soon. I have to do the covers and get page protectors (which are 50% off at M's this week!)

Thats what I was thinking also. We can close it in May to give everyone enough time. Also last time we did 2 items and I am thinking only 1 this time right??

I wish someone had that when I had Christopher. Very cute idea.

I agree, especially if there are more people!!!!!!!!!!
I actually think I might get this done tonight. I have some SU 6X6 page protectors somewhere. Just got to find them (and it would save me a few bucks too that way!)
