OOOOHH!!! It looks like so much fun! And wouldn't you know it, it is the ONE weekend that I already have booked so far in advance (with another scrapbooking retreat, so it's not all bad). Anyhow, I'm still relatively new to this part of the site....is there any way that I can make sure that I'm on some sort of e-mail list for when the 3rd Calgary Classic kicks off?? I really would love to come and meet you all face to face.

Well girls I see our good friend Dianaq has registered! I'm still waffling as the timing may be problematic. We're planning a trip to Disneyland with another family and he works out of town two weeks in two weeks out ... wouldn't you know it his two weeks off are the 16th-26th
Are we starting a wait list once we are full? If I have to back out and give my spot to someone on the waitlist will they just pay me their fee?
Adalee I LOVE your summery avatar! May be time to update mine soon LOL!
BTW ... that is the epitome of GOOD DIL!

Yes Anne Marie, we will start a small wait list once we fill up. We know from last year that cancellations can happen so easier to plan with a wait list.

Welcome to Regina, Rosana and cousin Liza -- the Calgary Classic awaits
I am so glad that it is working out to have Regina and Rosana return -- they are wonderful people and add a lot of colour to the event I'm looking forward to meeting cousin Liza--- will you be sleeping???
Thank you everyone for the Avitar LOVE -- I was getting tired of explaining the sunglasses story.. I needed headshots for some upcoming ventures and so Rod and I did a bunch O' looks, I have another one for my background shot...they are my fav's. It is lucky to have a photographer for a DH sometimes...
Thanks for the MIL love... hehehehe we survived the car ride. It actually went really well, she is a sweetheart. THe visit --- so far INTERESTING. I guess we just don't all grow up the same ..... hmmm....
Another beautiful day here.... gotta love it!!!! Please continue to send the good weather vibes so that the landscapers can get done soon! I'd love to spend the weekend in my back yard!
Greetings from a wet BC -- Rod informed me today that several cheques arrived yesterday and today. I'll just update them all when I return home. So the only updating, I'm doing from the road is PayPal and Internet Banking. If you sent a cheque -- don't worry I'll post it next Wednesday when I get home
Hey Adelee and Christine after much soul searching I've decided that even if the trip to California is after the event ... in the interest of not over booking myself I'm gonna have to pass :(
My DH is after me about not taking so much on all at once!
If I am in town that weekend I would LOVE to stop by and visit ... Chat with old friends and of course purchase some raffle tickets for the heart and stroke foundation. (Don't worry I'll leave my numbers with someone trustworthy LOL!)
I'll keep subscribed so I can still hang out and chat with everyone!

That is too bad Anne Marie :( - I can relate to the not overbooking yourself but you will be happier for it if you stick to it.

AnneMarie, I'm sorry that you won't be joining us for the whole weekend but I certainly hope that you do drop by---- think about some beautiful red scrubs for the drive by ;)
I have a question for the ladies that live in Calgary. What are your favorite stores to buy supplies (other than Michaels)? Neeru and I are planning to come a day early or stay a day later and hit a few while in Calgary in October. Need to know the must go to places.
Hi Kristen... there are a lot of pretty good stores in Calgary...
I am biased and will list The Scrapbook Pantry first (cuz I work there!) It's a new store and I find a good selection of stuff I can't find elsewhere in Calgary
Scrapbookers Paradise is big (if you go to the South store) and they have some fun things
Scrapbookers Bliss is a small store with some great gems to find
The Scrap Yard doesn't appeal to me as much as it does to others... but definitely worth a look
And then we have our only stamping store... Paper Pastimes... again, doesn't appeal to me as much as others, but still some good stuff there.

Hope that helps!
Great List Nancy.
Every one of the stores is worth a look - they are all different and provide different choices. Some are closed Sundays fyi.
There is one more that I can think of - Scrapbook Sally. It is primarily scrapbooking and has their own series of papers. Certainly worth a look. (NW Calgary).
ONe more store worth checking out is Creative Packaging (lots of ribbon, boxes, bags etc).I have to live up to my ribbon enabler title
We will be providing a map to most (if not all) of the stores in your information package at the event.

Would it be easy for you to post it (maybe just even addresses for those of us out-of-towners) who might want to shop before. I don't want to take time away from the Retreat to go shopping, but I might also want to come down a day earlier. I know last year I signed up for so many shoebox swaps that I didn't have time to breathe, let alone go shopping. LOL

Thanks for the info. I like to plan ahead and just know October will just sneak up on me. I seem to have a lot of things going on this year that makes the time fly by. :o
