The 12x12 swap is of interest to me too, but I can't imagine having (or even buying) 10 of the same embellishments for all the pages. How does everyone handle that?
Tasha - you go first - I'll watch, and if it is safe....maybe.
Christine - but think about my hoarding problem, and having to use up that much paper at one time????? I break out in a sweat.
She's weakening -- I can feel it And my dearest Robin -- if you can't use your stash -- just go out and buy all new (keeping in mind of course that it is all for this specific project) and then you don't need to use ANY of your stash;)
So glad I could be of help!!

I have NO problem with that at all. It really is no different than making 10 of the same cardfront for a swap. You do one -- then just repeat it 9 more times. I actually feel a real sense of accomplishment when I'm finished. Because it doesn't take me that long to do the 9 (takes me forever to do the 1 tho) and I feel so good when they are all finished.
I am just waiting for my SU order to come in with my 12x12 CS that I want to use. Then I'll get at it and get them done.
Then decide which other swaps I want to do. My CF is designed and I have 3 made -- and my 12x12 is almost designed. Hooray -- I'm actually ahead of the game this time.

You can make your own embellishments, and brads & eyelets count as embellishments, so does ribbon. They do not all have to be identical, but should be close.
Making your own could be creating faux metal (from paper and embossing powder), chipboard, paper flowers, detailed embossing, using pop can tabs for ribbon sliders - imagination is key. There is lots of ways to embellish a card and scrapbook page that doesn't mean buying 10 expensive embellishments.
Does that help???

I'm Lorinna's sister, Seanna. I have just moved back to Calgary after a 10 year absence. I'm looking forward to the Calgary Classic. I'm wondering if you can explain the Mountable Card Front swap.
Hi --- I've been away for the weekend, sorry to leave you hanging..... did you actually get a response in all that chatter?
The mountable card front = a card front that gets "mounted" or put onto a card and acts as it's new front. So it's dimensions are slightly smaller than that of a regular 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card. A mountable card front is 5 1/4 x 4. So that you get a nice mat when you put it onto your card. There are some off sizes or fun folds that people do to be creative but that is the just of it. They are then decorated however you would like.... I hope that is clear....
You can make your own embellishments, and brads & eyelets count as embellishments, so does ribbon. They do not all have to be identical, but should be close.

YUP..... this is really important... Great advice, Christine. I really really echo this. I have lots of sheets of this up on my workshop walls to prove this point. DO not make these $20.00 pages for swapping, just make them look like $20.00 for swapping. It is amazing what a few scraps on a page can turn into with a little imagination. A little Crystal Effects and beads can go a long way.....
Okay, Christine......could you please sign me up for the 12 X 12 scrapbook page swap? There, I did it, Robin.....now you go next. It is going to be so much fun! I can hardly wait for this weekend of giggles, girls, paper and sticky messes.

For those of you that are getting hotel rooms, where do you plan on staying? Originally I was coming with 2 other ladies, but they are both going to Regionals now in Edmonton, so I'm travelling alone. It would be nice if I stayed where others are planning on staying. I would like to get my room booked pretty quick.

....rummagerummagerummage.....surely I have enough paper here SOMEPLACE.......
LOL
Seriously - I may have to call in Carole4312 to consult with a layout. Nothing like a Bit of the Brit to help things along. (I've been inspired by one of her recent layouts, I'm thinking birthday candles)

I just need a few more ideas...if only Robin could help us out, and just imagine a page inspired by the amazing Carole4312 what a dynamic pairing we have here.......... awesome!!! Just awesome!!
Robin and Carole this is sounding fun. A Banana and Chocolate Party Page.... YIPPEE..... and little patterned paper and if you are willing to part with some of your "small" stash o ribbon.... you are done. Love, love, love it....
