Oh yeah.. I guess I should include that in a PM.. Each perosn needs to bring their own adhesive that way they can just carry it from one station to another with them.. :( Sorry.. Did I tell you this is the first time I have done something like this???

The tables will be fine. I will bring some paper to use for scraps. I have a bunch.

I am soo glad that I am not the only one new at this.. Thanks Tracy for helping to put me at ease a little bit more.

Another first-timer with a couple o'questions...

For the card base, do I just score it or should I fold it?

Do we need to bring a "recipe" for the card? Or instructions? Or do we just figure it out for ourselves at each station?

Thanks!

Ok.. Answering questions and if anyone thinks otherwise, please say so!!

Folding vs scoring cards... I would think that if you score the cards/projects in advance that will a time saver.

Recipe- IF your card/project is complex and you feel it needs directions, you might want to include some in your box or else you might get "paged" a few times to answer questions. {I guess that is a for sure way you get to talk to almost everyone if you don't. ;)}

Keep the questions coming. This is how we will all learn TOGETHER!

Wow! It sounds like you Utah girls are going to have a blast. I wish I could make the trip for it. Take lots of pics to share, please!!

Can I make a suggestion about the tips?? I would bring about $2 per person. I worked in Utah at Golden Corral for over a year and we only made $2.15 an hour. If you are planning on taking an entire section then that server will lose lots of money that they could be getting for tips.

I hope you all have a fun time!! Let me know when the next one is. I might be able to make a visit since all our family is there!!

Thanks for the answers to my questions. I thought of one more question overnight:

Should we "package" the components for each project in ziploc baggies or just have the pieces out there?

I'm going to be out of town the week before this, so I'm getting my stuff ready now.

TIA!

I think the zip lock baggie for the different parts sounds like a great idea. That way we know that everyone has all the parts they need. That's what I'm gonna do.

are people going to be cutting things there, or are we suppose to have everything cut to size? I was thinking I'd just have a baggie with each project in it, everything cut, background stamped, etc.

I believe that we are supposed to have all the parts cut to size, ready to be stamped & put together.

This sounds great but please don't stamp the background.. Bring the stamp so each person can stamp it if they want to.or not.. Cut each piece to size so they can be assembled quickly! There should really be no need for any paper cutters if everyone does this and it will make the projects so much faster.
The ziplock baggies sound like a really good idea. The other nice thing about it is IF you get behind and can't make the card you can take the baggie and do it later at home. Bring your camera and you can take a picture of the card the baggie goes with. I think I too might bring them all that way.. Darn, one more thing to do!

Another thought...
How about nametags? With our real names & SCS names to make it easier to get to know one another. I don't know about anyone else, but after meeting a few new people, names start mixing together & I just can't keep it straight, KWIM?

Debora,
I am making name tags...Please everyone post your SCS name here and also your real name and I will put them on there for you. Also, if you are bringing friends that are not on SCS, please just post their real name. First name only is fine, I think!

Oh....one more thing. My swap requires watercolor pencils to color your image with. I will be bringing my set for everyone to use, but maybe if any one has their own set, you could bring yours too to expedite the process. Just an idea. I am sooooo excited!!!

Bringing home the colored items is a good idea too. I will bring my pencils just in case anyone wants to do theirs, but just so you all know, a lot of mine is colored.

So I was wondering...where is everyone coming from? How far is your drive to get to Layton?

I'm coming from West Jordan, it's about an hour for me.

Come on down and hang out with us.. What could be better than food, friends and STAMPING!!!!

3 days left! I can't believe we are going to be pulling this swap off. We have had a few cancellations and I am very sad but we will push forward! I am going to have a donation box and if anyone is interested in donating there extra cards I will stamp them out and send them to the troops overseas. Totally optional but just a thought and if it doesn't happen then no biggie!

Have a great day ladies and see you soon.
