I know convention was here in Utah but some of us didn't get to go and would love a get together with our awesome fellow stampers. We are going to be doing a shoebox swap. Here are some of the details!
Date: September 30th
Location: Golden Corral in Layton- Directions later, easy access from I-15
Time: 10:30-2:30 (Try to be on time because the price increases at 11am)
Price: $6.99+tax After 11 $9.49+tax Per suggestion, please bring $1 for the tip
Reservation Name: Split Coast Stampers
What is a shoebox swap? All cards are to be full cards. Each person will need to bring enough supplies for everyone to make their cards including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc. Each person is also asked to bring their own adhesive to use on all the projects we make. You will take your adhesive with you when you go from shoebox to shoebox. Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labelled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought.
Theme- I guess no theme since no one is really speaking up that they want one and that is ok.
Doorprizes- Yes! If you want to bring one, please do so that day and we will do a drawing every so many minutes according to how many prizes we have.

Any weekend would work for me. Maybe we can have this at an LDS ward house, then there wouldn't be a fee....I am not sure we could do it there, but you never know. Also, I know some restauarants have separate rooms for large groups...maybe we could have it at one of those, then people could just order what food they want. Just some ideas.

September 16th sounds good for me especially if that first weekend is a holiday weekend.
Welcome ladies and let's try to get more people to attend. As around and see if anyone you might stamp with would be interested. I also need someone to help me coordinate it.
I would love to be a part of this! where in Utah? also I can do it any day but Sept. 16 (DS's birthday). So sign me up with the option to get out of it if it winds up being the 16th. Thanks!
We are up in Davis County. It will probably take place here in Layton. It looks like it could be the 2nd, 16th, or the 30th. I put the 16th at the top but I don't know if that works for everyone. Right now we are hopefully spreading the word and we will work out the kinks in the first week of August or so.
I changed the initial message to either the 16th or the 30th. My hubby is home from Kuwait until the July so after he leaves I will work on making the final date and all that stuff. I am so excited about this and think we will have great fun.

Hey, I live in Logan, Utah and would love to do this sometime. I'm having a baby supposedly at the very end of August, if I go late like I usually do then not until September, so the September meeting won't work for me, but if you have future get togethers let me know.

I probably wouldn't come, mostly because I have a hard time recovering from deliveries. (Or at least in the past it's taken a good 6-8 weeks to get me moving around much.) I have a 2 year old girl and a 4 year old girl already. This one will be a boy.
I just feel like I need to give myself ample time to heal before I go traveling somewhere.

I understand Heather. I had a c-section with my first guy and it was really 3 or 4 weeks before I was really able to move around normally and that wasn't going anywhere, just around the house. Hopefully this one will go well and we will have more!!!

I have a question. What is the minimum number of people we want to try to do this with? If we have a smaller group we might just be able to get a banquet room at like olive garden, or golden corral or something. I hope to have this planned and have a final count by September 9th so we have time to figure out how many for sure we need.
Ok ladies. It is now July 9th almost the 10th and I need to start getting things rolling. I will be bumping this thread often to see if we can get more people. Ask your friends and see if we can make it 20 people, at least.

I'm seriously thinking about it. I think that I'd bring a friend too. Definitely keep me posted... I checked mapquest and it's only an 8 hour drive...piece a cake right?!?
Laniebug if you are driving with a friend you can split the drive time and there you go! I drive to CO to visit with my aunts and to stamp just for the fun of it so why not!

Last time we tried this I totally flaked out, but I did send in my fee even though I was unable to attend at the last minute. The 30th of September will work for me. I'm in Pleasant Grove and would be willing to car pool. How fun this will be.
Okay everybody!! I just got off the phone with YuRee. Looks like we are going to be having this at Golden Corral in Layton (directions to come). It is really easy to find and just off I-15. This way, we will just have to pay for our food and rental costs for a space. And, bonus, nobody has to cook!
So, September 30th, 10:30 to 2:30 at Golden Corral. The cost is $6.99 prior to 11:00 am, after 11:00 it will be $9.49, so be sure to be on time! We are going to have the room for 4 hours and since that just happens to go into lunch time...the manager said we could munch off the lunch buffet too! Super nice, huh? The reservation is under Splitcoaststampers.
So, YuRee will be updating the OP pretty soon and will correct any info that I have gotten wrong. LOL
Also, we were wondering if you all wanted to have a theme??? Is that something you would be interested in? Also, how about door prizes? If you are interested in donating a little something for door prizes, please PM me or YuRee (cookscrapstamp).
