***DELETE***Northern California Shoebox Swap - June 28th in Tracy, California
1st Semi-Annual
Northern California Shoebox Swap!
Held in Tracy, California
June 28, 2008
10am 4pm
Join us for a day of stamping and scrapping fun!
Cost- $6 per person ($7 via PayPal). This fee covers drinks and door prizes throughout the day. Registration will be limited to 10-12 people in order to keep the swapping reasonable. Your registration fee must be paid for by Monday, June 16th. There are no refunds after this date. You may pay via PayPal by using a debit card, credit card, or PayPal existing funds. You may also mail a check if you prefer. Please contact me when you are ready to sign up and I will provide my PayPal address or my mailing address.
Shoebox Swap Mandatory- All cards are to be full cards. Each card must use at least two layers and one embellishment. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock (pre-cut), stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc. Make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. Supplies are not limited to any manufacturer, but please use high quality cardstock.
Each person should have two sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make your card. Each swap should be in its own individual baggie or envelope that contains everything each person needs to do your card. This should help the swap go more smoothly.
Lunch- We will be doing a potluck lunch! So each person will be responsible for bringing something to share! Beverages will be provided. It can be something you make or purchase. You do not need to bring an enormous amount of food, just enough to share with 8-10 people! A sign up list will be posted in June.
Door prizes- Two door prizes will be given throughout the day.
Fabulous Nametag Contest- Make and wear a 3x 5 nametag with your name and your SCS name so we know you on sight. Get creative and make something fabulous! The best nametag will win a special prize! This is also a fun way to learn everyones names!
Other Stuff Please bring your own items for your personal stamping and scrapbooking needs, especially your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just cant stamp without! You will need these supplies to assemble the swaps. Please be sure to label your items if you feel it is necessary.
Remember to register and pay by Monday, June 16th!! Address to the event will be emailed out after payment has been received.
For any questions and to register please contact me via PM or Amanda (luvdtr) who is also hosting this event, so please feel free to ask her any questions too!

thanks for the invite... can you tell me where this will be held? In someone's home, community center? How much room is there to work in? Just curious, sounds like fun and I've never done one before.
It will be held in Tracy at someone's house. There will be two tables that will hold approx. 8 to 9 people each but the max for the swap is 12 so that we will have plenty of room to scrap.
I'm interested. My brother is moving to Tracy so this would be a perfect excuse to visit. How does it work? Does it take 6 hours to make all the cards, or do we bring stuff to work on to do there as well. I don't really scrapbook, but I could work on cards.
Each person will bring a project (Shoebox Swap) for others to create. Depending on how many people attend you will make 10 to 12 cards on Saturday which will take most of the time. We will also break lunch and a couple other breaks for judging the name tag contest and giving out door prizes.
Hi, This is Linda. I figured out how to do this. I've never done this before. Looking forward to the swap. One problem I am having is figuring out how to pay. It's me, not you. I'm not very computer literate. Let me know.
The shoebox swap will be a blast. I belong to a Stampin up group with the hostess and the organizers of this shoebox and they are fun, fun, fun. Can't wait for it to get here.
I am looking for a place called Kidspark. Its like a drop in child care center. I asked my mom if she would babysit so I can go to this and as soon as I told her she wanted to come too so we needed to find some other person to watch my daughter and I thought they had one in Tracy or Stockton. I need to google them and find out so I can see if we can come or not.

Oh I'm sorry! I don't know if there is one. I've never heard of that place. Sounds like a good place!
The kidspark locations are only in Chicao, El Dorado Hills, Elk Grove, Folsom, Sacramento, Rocklin, and San Jose. Nothing in the Central Valley.
You might want to check out www.caresquare.com, they might have something or someone to check your daughter in Tracy for the day. I have never used them but a couple people in my playgroup have.
Wow thanks for the resource. My daughter loves kidspark so thats why I thought of theat, and thanks for the kidspark info. I ended up googleing them and found out. But I found one near my sisters house in Kansas so that was cool.
We are about 3 weeks away from our party. I would like to start putting a list together of what everyone is bringing for the potluck. Currently we have 8 people signed up so you should bring enough food to feed 8-10 people.
I have added an area in the original post to list what everyone is bringing for lunch. Please post what you would like to bring and I will add it to the list. Remember that drinks, plates, napkins, and utensils will be provided.
This is terrible. We sold our house and will be moving to Idaho the same weekend as the Shoebox. I will not be able to attend and I am heartbroken. We were completely shocked that our house sold. We were taking it off the market 3 days before it sold. Have fun and for the card group people and Stampin group. I will still send cards and orders.
Linda
