If you don't have luck at the church I will be glad to help look for a spot. I have access to a clubhouse in my Home Owners Association. But the bad news is no alcohol but the good news is there is a pool! And, a golf course--Coyote Ridge. I will see if I can get a link with pictures.
I had such a blast the past weekend meeting a person in real life that I met here! I hope this works for us! She was such a doll and the shop in Winnsboro, TX is fabulous! Scrappy K's if anyone needs a fabulous place to go buy everything...and, I mean everything. I was astounded at what she had in a small town. I am definitely driving 91 minutes again and soon.
This would be great. I've been trying to gather a group in Ft. Worth. Not much interest... but I'm happy to hear you are getting interest. I look forward to hearing about this more.
I could do any weekend, except Memorial Weekend.

Oh my, I totally agree Scrappy K is very sweet. My parents used to live in Quitman, very close to Winnsboro. Scrappy K's used to be in a big building on their chicken farm and we would drive out to her farm for crops. If you go a block down main street, to the bakery, the chocolate ganache cake is DELISH. There is also an exquisite spa just across the street from the bakery. I mean, exquisite...nothing that you would expect in east TX. I love it!! What would be really fun is to shop, eat, then relax at the spa!!

I've been in Winnsboro recently, and didn't have a clue they had a scrapbook store. Of course, Aunt Rosemary wouldn't think to mention it (if she knows about it). People that don't scrap and stamp just don't understand how important these things are! Winnsboro is between my house and Dallas...actually closer to my house than Dallas.

The Ft. Worth one has "activity" now. I think what we will try to do is get a casual monthly thing going... and have it at different places around DFW.
This way all can be included. We can do say ten women at a time as will be hosting at our homes. I have two tables... I can sit say 12... plus if I get my craft table out, another 6... but it will be way more casual than a BIG swap or something...

It's the date that I have scheduled. I'm just waiting to hear back if I get the space. I won't have a final answer until 2/17. Once I have the location signed, sealed, and delivered I will make a brand new post for sign ups and all the pertinent information.

I've not started sign ups yet. I won't know for sure about the venue until the 17th and I don't really want to start anything until I have the location nailed down. Look for a new thread sometime on the afternoon of the 17th.
I just got off the phone with someone in Commissioners Court and my agenda item was not put on for Tuesday. It will be 2/24 before I know FOR SURE that I have the space. I've been told by various parties that it should not be a problem, but I want to make sure that all is 100% definite before I put up the sign up sheet.
