I find that anytime I'm handling a lot of paperwork. Its the same at work - constantly slathering on the hand cream. Its all good though - you get to work in a 30 second hand massage and a little aromatherapy into your day.

I have the same problem with paper (and with fabric and yarn). But I try to wait until I've finished working to put on lotion -- so I don't leave oily fingerprints on the cards and needlework.
I have the same problem, but it was *much* worse when I worked at a scrapbook store!! Every winter I'd have chapped fingers and tons of paper cuts *ouch*
It's not so much my hands right now but my cuticles!! They are so dry and cracking :( Winter has kind of hit us with a bang here in Edmonton so my hands are rebelling :(
I have had terribly chapped, split and really sore hands since working in a printing place a few years ago. I have tried so many kinds of creams, even Utter Cream ( Bag Balm) and have been to about 3 dermatoligists and they each have a different answer. I have come up with my own.....I am allergic to the bleach in the paper, or any cleaning products.......I have just found some good cream that has really helped, Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream and they also have a cream you can use at night and then putting on white cotten gloves. I haven't noticed any residue on my cardstock and my hands look and feel so much better. Hope this helps someone....Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne
Not only are my hands super dry but the paper cuts are killing me. I am busy making swaps for the St. Louis Stampin' Up! Regional meeting on Saturday and cutting paper for a workshop on Friday night. I have to stamp but, man, the pain. Anyone have any recommendations on lotions?

I find that Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion absorbs fast into my dry skin & doesn't feel greasy. I can work on cards, etc. pretty much right after I rub it into my hands. It's a little pricey - but a little goes a long way.
If you can find someone that sells Beauticontrol products(not in stores), they have the best intensive hand cream. It works almost overnight to make hands, nails and cuticles feel normal again! It's expensive, but works well and a little goes a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG way! I'm so serious when I say the size of a pea.
They have recently made new packaging, but the best cream I have EVER found for my super dry hands (my dad has Psoriasis, and has very dry hands too!) is NO-Crack cream that they sell at Restoration Hardware. Usually my hands get so dry in winter that they crack and bleed, but this stuff works like a dream!
The "Fresh" scent is pretty much unscented so if strong scents bother you, go with the Fresh scent.
I also need more lotion if I'm not drinking enough water - and I find that I need more water in the winter maybe because the air around me is dryer?
What goes in your body ends up on your skin, not enough water = dryer skin. Plus you need to remember that sugar and caffine can take water out of your body.

I have horrid hands! Between the paper and being a part time hairdresser (no longer working but the family forget that! lol) I do my best to wear gloves while doing dishes but I still get cracks.. especially on my knuckles.. I found Crack Cream from Band Aid and it works wonders! Of course I can't use it when I drive or am about to handle paper since it will transfer.(and I don't use it when I am caring for a child.. I had a baby girl almost slip out of my hands.. no joke! it was horrifying!) It is alot like a Vaseline product but Vaseline doesn't do anything but coat my hands.. this sinks in.. eventually! lol
