How large does the container or pail you put them in need to be? I found an embarrassingly large supply of the Target $1 spot pails hidden away. I would love to use these, but I wonder if I can fit 50 suckers in one. They are 3 inches tall and almost 3 inches across at the top.
Well, duh! I just looked at a couple in gallery again, and I guess you really do not need to have a particular number of suckers in them, do you?
i made a 60 sucks for my friend's birthday. I used 60 dum-dum lollipops. i bought a basket from the dollar store it was fairly shallow and didn't have a handle. I used florists foam to secure the suckers. I thought if the sign said 60 sucks there should be 60 suckers in it.
i just made a 30 sucks with one one of the Target pails and i used blow-pops...it was a streach to make it fit. Usually when I do a 50 sucks I make my own bos with Chipboard about the size of a kleenex box.
I feel like there should be the same number, but I have like 25 of those pails. I think I got them when they went on sale. I have some larger pails, too. But not near as many!!
If I had the $1 pails I would take 5 coordinating pails and hot glue them together, positioning the one in the center slightly higher. It would make a pretty arrangement.
I've made 40 sucks bouquets in the Target buckets, I think you can fit 50. I used a mix of Tootsie pops, Blow pops and dum dums....you might need more dum dums to fit the 50 pops. I put a weight (rock, whatever) in the bottom, then put a foam ball in, large enough so that 1/2 the ball sticks out over top of the bucket. If the sticks were longer, I think you could fit A LOT of suckers in no problem....what if you attached the sticks to those floral picks that have wire at the top?
