i know lots of people make "gifts in a jar" for the holidays, but these would also make great gifts for showers (easy snacks a busy new mother could make), mother's day (especially, if you don't live near eachother: LOVE the pancakes in a jar), birthdays (for a chocolate lover!), etc.
Right@Home posted some ideas and recipes (with recipe cards!), here and here - be sure to go to the bottom of the page for additional "in a jar" ideas.
I usually create some kind of mini calendar - BUT lost my resource for the template - any ideas for finding 2011 calendars that are about 2 x 2?? Thanks!

I have usually only given card sets as gifts, but will need to be FAR more "frugal" this year......so thanks for the great ideas ladies (and maybe gentlemen) ;)
I make melt and pour soap (get decorative chocolate molds on sale after the holidays or even use things like chocolate box inserts, anything that is fairly stable can have soap poured into it) ... it's a little expense to "start up" because you need scent and dye, but it lasts for-ev-ah.
I also make chocolates (never use the same mold as for soap!) and I heat the melts in a coffee maker... perfect temp and no fuss!
Anyone got any ideas for what to give a young (23-ish), hip (okay, so that proves I'm not young), and MALE teacher? We always fill a basket with homemade handcream, Christmas tags, and hot chocolate mix for the ladies, but this year's teacher is a stumper.
I think you can still do the hot chocolate mix so perhaps adding marshmallows and/or candy canes and an inexpensive mug will work?
If its cold where you live (forgot to check location before typing) perhaps handwarmers (the type that come in apckets usually sold by camping/hunting gear)?
Oh ... and all teachers probably never have enough pens and other office supplies.
Yes, very cute. I made a bunch of these last year and they were a huge hit, especially with teen girls (and their moms, too.)
The tutorial uses the SU Top Note die, which I don't have. I used the largest Nesty in the Labels 1 set for the purse flap and just adjusted the measurements a little to fit.
Thanks for the ideas. I really like the suggestions of the I-tunes card. And I have my boys trying to find out how many of their teachers have dogs so we can add some of our homemade dog treats to the baskets as well. (We make them for family every year.)
