Heart Orange World Cardmaking Day - Any plans?

Good afternoon, SCS family!

World Cardmaking Day is tomorrow - a day just for "our kind!" I've been curious all week but am just now remembering to ask you all: do you have any fun plans?

Tomorrow my mom and I will get together and spend a few hours making cards together. It's one of my favorite things to do, work on a project or two while mom does the same. Usually with a favorite classical piano CD playing, and perhaps something seasonal simmering on the stove for some ambiance. I can't wait!

I look forward to hearing if you have any plans up your sleeve - and if not, I'd encourage you to make some!

Hugs!

There are quite a few online events available.

Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine has videos beginning early in the morning on their channel: https://scrapbookandcards.com/new-no...ls-collection/

Craft Roulette is sponsoring a big giveaway: https://craftroulette.live/events/20...ard-making-day

Stampin Up is having a World Cardmaking Day class on YouTube: https://www.stampinup.com/categories...ard-making-day

I will probably look at a few videos and just create what interests me. I get overwhelmed at all of the events available.

That is wonderful that you and your mom share this hobby! Your description of how the day will go sounds cozy and relaxing.
I am a cross country coach and we have a meet tomorrow but there's always the late afternoon and evening! A Club Scrap card kit just arrived and its theme is Gnome for Christmas and I'm SUPER excited to work with that. I adore gnomes and the stamps and paper in this kit were too cute to resist!

None truly crafting related because my space isn't currently in a condition that creativity can actually take place. I put in all knew cabinetry and have been working on organizing all the things for months. So, I'll work a bit on organizing my craft space some more and then in the afternoon my hubby and I are going to go help with a community project (outdoors) for a few hours. Of course we're having a wicked heatwave right now in the mid to high 90's, and having signed up for the afternoon shift it should be a lot of fun 😳

I am hoping to finish up on my Thanksgiving cards, and then start on my Christmas cards. My Stampin Up Demonstrator no longer has classes, so I no longer have connections to my "card craft buddies" .. We had a few regulars to the card classes, but I haven't heard back from anyone wishing to get together... I miss those once a month gatherings....

Hope everyone has a fun day doing what gives us peace, contentment and happiness !!

It sounds like you ALL have great plans! Including giving back - thank you for doing that for your community!!!

Four cards done so far but it’s only 5 here!

Have a great day all!

I'm making cards for this month's cards for a cause. I got out a bunch of SU stamp sets that are direct to paper...no hand-coloring. I have be CASEing cards from the gallery.

Sadly, I fell asleep after returning from the cross country meet and didn't make a single thing! My WCMD will be today after church and breakfast with my parents. My SIL ran a marathon yesterday and got an incredible time and I want to send her a card congratulating her, plus I want to make my 2 nephews super fun birthday cards. For their cards, I love scrolling through the tutorials here on SCS for interactive cards. And, the Christmas gnomes are still waiting for me heehee.

Shoot - well, every day can be cardmaking day, in my opinion!

Mom and I turned it into a cardmaking weekend... and I even managed to make time to trim my gelding's hooves Saturday night once the natural light started to fade (thanks to the light in the barn)!

If you haven't already looked into it, WCMD is always the 1st Saturday in October. In addition to events, like those listed above, there are also discounts from our favorite companies. It's a grand reason to grab a crafting buddy and celebrate the best hobby in the world!

I'm not State-side, plus I'm definitely a solo cardmaker (all my friends are into gardening!) , so I'll give it a miss, but thanks for the information! I craft almost every day in any case so I'm celebrating almost every day 🤸🏽‍♀️ 🎉 😊

It was started by Paper Crafts Magazine. My guess is they were promoting their magazine. Now it has taken on a whole different approach. Many companies have giveaways where they promote it through a blog or YouTube. I think they were focusing on the upcoming holidays when it began.
