I bought a We are Memory Keepers stamp positioner when they first came out from Scrapbooks .com
when all the controversy started they put them on clearance. I immediately purchased a second one @nd informed my stamping friends who did same and some even bought for gifts .a they were not expensive to begin with and I think they cleared them out at $15.00!
my original is still going strong and I am so glad I have a back up.
I bought my green cuttlebug about 20 years ago still going strong, and got a free Big Shot for points earned hosting a SU party. It is also a back up as I usually grab the lighter and smaller bug.
I also like the bug because of the SUCTION cups on the bottom which holds it securely on desk.
I am sure there will be another positioner as I can’t imagine peoples no longer having the right to choose what product they can or be forced to buy.

I think My Sweet Petunia and their owner are going after every company selling a stamp positioner.
I read the last legal brief. SU has not lost YET but is continually tied up in court by this woman. They probably just decided plenty of people have the stamparatus so they folded. I DO wonder when her patent runs out, though. Hopefully when that happens we will see the Stamparatus again.
I have a Misti that I bought before Stamparatus came out. It never gets used. The Stamparatus is so superior! After all this lawsuit drama, I will NEVER buy another product from My Sweet Petunia EVER AGAIN!

I have the WRMK stamping platform but never cared for the fact it didn't have magnets. I found a you tube video to buy the tiny magnets and tape or glue them into the back of it. Although it did help, I still wasn't happy. Then, I bought the Tim Holtz stamping platform when it went on clearance over the legal issues... I do use it fairly often. Shame these legal issues have become such a big problem.
Despite being a demo, I've never used the Stamparatus (I don't use stamp positioners). What is so wonderful about it? Not being snarky...it's a genuine question.

It's a great tool for people with fine motor struggles, to get a more even image (if for some reason an image doesn't stamp clearly you can restamp it). It's just a nice overall alternative to using blocks

I bought a Misti before anyone else made anything like it. I found it difficult to work with and rarely used it. Then Tim Holtz came out with his positioner and it was a game changer. Far more sturdy than the Misti and overall easier to use. Luckily I bought the large and small models before all this lawsuit garbage started. I don't use them often but they are great if you are making multiples of certain cards and want a clean sharp image everytime. Especially useful if you want super dark colors beccause you can stamp things multiple times. Miss part of a word...........no problem just reink and stamp again. I did not know the Misti person went after the Stamparatus too. The worst part is that it is the inferior product to many people.

Besides the ability to re-ink the stamp and improve the coverage on your image, I love that the plates (comes with 2) are removable and positionable so you can evenly stamp a sentiment or image on your paper multiple times, down or across. Like

Also, with two plates, you can stamp two different images on your paper without having to change the stamps out since each plate has a home along the top and side edges of the tool.
It’s just quite unfortunate SU had to retire this.
A number of demos and bloggers use the misti in their videos, I wonder what they will do.continuing to use this product seems like an endorsement for it.
I also have to wonder what Tim Holtz and SU are saying behind closed doors. These law suits cost a Lot of money so she must be loaded. Aside from that, other companies that are in this providing stampers with their products must have their opinions as well.
people started off stamping with acrylic blocks in the past so they have that option.
always something new comes along…..hence the “Stamp Wheel”.

my opinion: the Stamparatus is far superior to anything else on the market, including the Misti. You can stamp with cling or photopolymer again and again without moving your cardstock.
multiple stamping is an absolute DREAM with the ‘Ratus! Position once and make all the cards, tags, labels, whatever.
you can also stamp line after line!
always crisp and perfect. Always.

When the original MISTI lawsuit was won, and companies had to pull their inventory, I bought a Tim Holtz platform for about $20. I love it and use it a lot. I still like my wood mount stamps, but so often you waste paper & ink because of not getting a perfect image.
The WRMK also stamps cling and photopolymer stamps and no extra pad or magnets needed.
I always thought it was because of the hinges holding the top……because they move to accommodate the stamp . Never found d anything too thick or thin I could not stamp perfectly.
It also has grid lines so I can also stamp …..happy happy happy simply by shifting my paper down one grid line as I have seen JM do in her videos using a misti

Reason: Added another line
Several people have made videos showing how to make your own stamp positioning tool inexpensively. I have watched at least two in the past that use a stamp case. I wonder if these people who have created instructions for homemade stamping positioning tools are "next in line" for My Sweet Petunia woman to sue?

I was also remembering those videos and there were a number using different ways to make one.I wonder how they are standing up and if those that made them are still enjoying the results.
good question because she may not be just going after the big boys but looking to see who is next on her “hit list”. Suing big companies and winning is the bigger reward.
I am sure on the other hand she has many supporters who have their reasons for doing so.

She did go after a gentleman who gave instructions for a DIY version on another stamping discussion board. She demanded he remove all his posts from that board. He didn't.
I remember that Stampin Up delayed releasing their Stamparatus until they were satisfied that it would be “different enough” to meet requirements. They were doing their due diligence while people were buying other products. In the mean time, I bought the Tim Holtz, which I love. I bought the SAR as well, mostly for the moving hinge feature. I wonder if SU has filed for a patent on that.

Well, now I’m wondering if I did something wrong, but I can’t find a link. I went to “home” and about. Where would I find posting rules?
I don't think that was directed at you specifically, I think it's more directed at the comments about the creator of MISTI. It's the whole "be nice" thing, negative comments about a person are not allowed.
Guilty as charged - my apologies all around, and thank you Lydia for deleting the post. I should know better. That being said, I still think that the other platforms under discussion are different enough that they should have been safe from litigation, and I still think that there is "enough to go around" as far as customers to allow healthy competition over monopoly.

I will say I felt no need for your apology, but I do appreciate the rest of your comment.

Patent protections are not monopolies. There's a lot of education that should be done around this in our country and especially our industry, but my point is the rules. I appreciate your response.

Got it. I agree. I no longer think I did anything wrong, but it’s always good to know where the rules are. I’ve been on and off Splitcoast for probably 20 years now, and this is the first I’m finding out that the rules are linked at the bottom of every page.🤷🏻♀️. Unless I used to know it, and forgot I knew it.

The stamparatus or misti will allow you to restamp an image a second time exactly over the first image allowing it to be darker. I have thrown away images because my first stamp didn’t come out well. This will fix that

thats the beauty of all stamp positioners that have been on the market, prior to the suits that came out. Those of us that have any companies stamp positioners are fortunate as it may be a while before something equally helpful will come around.

Not to mention, you could use BOTH SIDES of the plates for stamping layers. Very handy when making multiple cards.
