Default Why, oh why, would it take 1/2 hour to make this?

Seriously, look how simple this card is!!! Am I the only one who takes this long to make/plan/design a card? None of the stuff I make is over what I consider difficultly level of "1" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's that whole "making a decision" thing. I obsess too!
Sometimes, I have to walk away for a few hours and come back to it with fresh eyes. There are so many choices - ribbon, no ribbon, tag, no tag, brad or eyelet . . . .
So, no, you are not the only one!

The design process is what takes so long. You did a great job! Now, it would probably take you 5min to duplicate it!! That's why I'm a CASE'r. Designing a card from scratch takes me forever!

I don't think good simple designs are easy. To me they require more decisions and thought than designs where you just keep adding layer after layer of stuff.

Good work. I think it's an excellent card.

It's not a race, is it? Quality takes time and this is beautiful and well matched.
Besides, I know I do stamping to relax after work and sometimes I only do 2-3 cards in an evening, but if I'm doing an invite or multiples I can get 20 done in a couple of hours. Diane

Wow, half an hour, that was quick! Seriously though, it takes me a good hour to make a card. I don't have a stamp room, I stamp at the dining table, so I have to take everything out and put everything away at every step of making the card. I also have so many storage shelves that it is now impossible to walk around my dining table, so I am forever picking up things that I knocked over trying to sidle my big butt around the table!
I actually find it relaxing to go at the speed I do, I don't enjoy rushing a card, I find the quality suffers.
So, if you enjoy the cardmaking, don't watch the clock!

I know exactly why it would take 1/2 hour. It is because we have all these accessories, paper and the ideas here on SCS and it is overwhelming to sit and see a blank piece of paper in front of you. Once my idea is hatched in my mind I am good to go. Your card came out great though, I love the little martini glass.

I think it's that whole "hindsight is 20/20" thing. Looking at the card it seems simple, but just think...you started with nothing! It takes a lot of thought and consideration to get to a great end product, even if it's a simple-looking design. It's a wonderful card!

Unless I have a preconceived idea of what the card should be, it always takes me a while to create...
Except during the Virtual Stamp Nights here on SCS...(the next one is this weekend..I can't wait).
It is far easier for me to come up with a card when someone tells me what to do and puts a time limit on it!

By the way, really nice card... It was worth the time! I would make 3 more just like it to have on hand.

I love your card and it would have taken me longer than 1/2 an hour to make that! I cannot create anything in half an hour, no way. Sometimes I wish I could make cards a little faster, but it never happens.

Well, the first one might have taken a 1/2 hour but if you were to go back and recreate this, it would be a lot faster!

It usually takes me a least an hour to do one card, simple or not!! Now that I have found this wonderful site with so many ideas, maybe it won't take as long for me now. Your card is perfect, and you can't rush perfection!!!

Hey, I'd love it if it only took me half an hour! lol The hardest part for me is choosing the colors, even if I'm CASE'ing something. Great job!!! I love the card.
