My michaels has a whole row just for Martha stewart. Most of it you can't even use a coupon on it. I don't get why her supplies are so special I have looked at it many items, I rarely see anything that's "really different" from any other company. In fact a lot of it seems more plain and more expensive.
I will say though I have seen some punches from her that are really cool but the rest, I often don't get. Am I missing something? what is it that you love in her collection?
I am a huge fan of the edge punchers. I also am loving the bigger punches...the eyelet heart, butterfly, etc. I also love the glitter. I haven't bought any of her papers, albums, etc. though. That's pretty much what I love! Oh yes...I only use coupons when buying Martha stuff!
I do love her punches- especially the border punches. The only other item I have purchased from her line is some adhesive because I needed some in a pinch- and I didn't really care for it.
I love her punches and glitter. I don't buy much of anything else, although I do think some of her embellishments are really cute. I bought a MS paper pack recently and was really disappointed in the quality and will not be buying any more paper from her ever again.
The majority of her line is designed and made by EK Success - they partnered with her on the line and put her name on it - there is nothing that spectacular about it - Mike's subcontracted with her to sell the items - as far as I am aware they lifted the no coupon ban on the items because they were not selling. I recently bought the scoring board and I have to say I really like it - I also have the score pal and love that too! I did notice that they did cut the paper out of the line and lots of the stamps have been on clearance of late.......I refuse to buy any item unless I am able to use a coupon whether it is MS or not - some call me cheap but I like to get more for my money and why pay retail!!!
Our Mike's just had a huge clearance area of hers (mainly Christmas, but some others). Stuff was about 60-75% off. Bought a bunch of punches, paper, etc. That's more my price!!
MS seems to be being heavily promoted over here in the UK but like the OP I can't see what the fuss is about. Yes some of the punches are lovely but sooo expensive so I'll wait for someone else to come along with something similar and more affordable
Michaels is supposed to allow coupons on the MS stuff. If they aren't they're going by old rules. If you really want something and they won't let you use a coupon (and it's not on sale otherwise) I would call the corporate office and see if they can help.
As for the products-I love a lot of the punches. I've heard the flock is very nice. I haven't bought anything else from that line though.
===============
I agree. They'll allowed the coupons at our stores (Minneapolis, MN) for quite awhile now----a few months.
I would call corporate Mike's and get some action. You should be able to use your Mike's coupons.
I really like the punches, but only get them with coupon. Well, actually I got a couple from walmart too without coupon. I haven't bought anything else from her line.
It was only during the first year her products were released that you couldn't use a coupon. Her products are now available at Michael's, A.C. Moore, and Wal-Mart. I like her glitter and paper, and I have had good luck with all the MS punches I've bought - except one. The Valentine Lace border punch that I bought last year will punch through only light-weight paper. I think her products, manufactured by E.K. Success, are over-priced. That's why I use coupons if her products aren't already on sale.

I thought I heard that a while ago, but all of the coupons I've seen in the last couple of months (mostly the cash register printed ones) still said MS stuff was excluded. No big deal for me though because I haven't found anything I have to have.

That's odd. None of the coupons I've seen in the last few years have excluded Martha's stuff. Maybe it's a regional thing. I live in New York.
I just got a really cool MS city skyline border punch for $2. It was holiday clearance and I had no idea! It will work great with my robot stamps and I plan to work it in with some Valentines.
I think, as with anything, there are great parts of lines and not so great ones. I don't feel pressured to love every SU set that's out there, kwim?
Oh, and count me as another lover of her superfine glitter. The color range is great, and her big bottles are a great value.
I even have my M's accept JoAnne's Coupons, in fact I have TEN coupons in my hand to be used from this weekends paper!!!! small town love I tell ya!
I really like her border punches and glitter as well. While some of the embellishments are cute they are really overpriced especially here in Canada, most are over $8/pkg.
I'm surprised you can't use your Michael's coupons for MS supplies. The only time I haven't been able to use a coupon was when they were already on sale - which seems to be frequently.
I really only like the MS border punches. The rest of the stuff (paper/pens/glitter/etc) I don't think is special enough to spend the money on.
I love the punches as well; and a few years ago I bought a set (on clearance) of glitter pens that were in test tubes? It was a grey, black, green and orange one but I love them and use them all the time. Nothing else of her line does anything for me.
I really love the MS flock and glitters, particularly the variety of beautiful colors. And the little bead things are intriguing and pretty although I haven't bought any yet. I also have and use daily the MS circle cutter, one of my favorite tools ever. I don't care for the paper, but I do like the edge punchers. I definitely consider two or three of my MS items to be regular items in my "pantry."
Like the other comments, I don't understand why your coupons aren't being allowed at your store.
I like the punches...I have all the punches up to this year's Valentines ones...I think the LOVE is the way the punches coordinate with each other...I also like the glitter. However, I have NEVER paid full price for a MS punch, and NEVER will. I wait and use coupons, or just don't get them...Oh, I was wrong...there is one punch I didn't get...that cute chick from last Easter...I really wanted it, but refused to pay full price...
I'll agree with almost everyone else - I only buy the tools (mostly border punches), and only with a coupon or great clearance. Even with the occasional problem with the border punches, they're so gorgeous I can't help myself ... but then again, I'm a lace kind of gal!
A couple of years ago, I bought the MS glitter-stamping starter kit (a bunch of stamps, glue pad and three tubes of glitter). Glue pad was completely ineffective, and the stamps were of such poor quality that I immediately put them away and didn't get them out until just last week, when I thought I'd try them again. Yep, still the same poor quality. Now the stamps are in the trash.
I've only ever used the glitter. It's very fine, which is nice. I used it to make Christmas ornaments. Apart from that, MS is one line of product I don't really go for. The colour palate is too limited (and not my style).
I gotta say I'm a MS punch junkie!! Everytime she come out with new ones I gotta have 'em! I'm particurlaly fond of the Around the Page punches. I always buy them at Michaels with a coupon or when they are on sale. Just got a bunch last week for 30% off. A few the week before with coupons.

I don't think there is anything "special" about the MS line. It just has her NAME attached. And I figured when Michael's ( originally ) were the only store to carry her craft stuff it was their attempt to compete with other craft stores around like Hobby Lobby and A.C. Moore. I have all three in my town and all very close together. The Michael's is the smallest and oldest off the three; I thought maybe they were in danger of being forced out of business by the "bigger and better" stores so they were trying to pull in that "name brand" power that is all things Martha Stewart.
I went back to my Michael's for the first time in a few years when her line debuted. I was disappointed. Her color palette isn't at all to my liking. And as others have said if was all expensive and not available with a coupon.
Since then, I have found a few other things worth going to Michael's for. They are the one who carry the most Tim Holtz stuff and now they do accept coupons for MS products. I bought her scoring board with a coupon and I'm happy with the product and the price I paid for it. The other things I've bought were some clear liquid glue and a jack-o-lantern punch. The punch is cool. It not only gives you a pumpkin with the eyes, nose and mouth punched out but it also gives you embossed lines running top to bottom like on a real pumpkin.
The punch does have a hard time going through my SU card stock and leaves a fuzzy edge all around which I have to sand off with an emory board but overall I am pleased.
Never been tempted by much else; but her line continues to put out cute punches.
Another person that loves her punches and glitter. I have also started using her glitter glue for my Flower Soft and really like it. It comes in a bottle with a brush (similar to a rubber cement bottle) and is to easy to get it where I want it and the Flower Soft really stays put. I also have a set of her glitter pens and they are about average for me.
The quality of her stamps is TERRIBLE! Very disappointing.
Yep, punches and glitter--with a coupon. Oh, and actually, I have bought some of her stamps and have not had a problem with any of them.
I'm not wild about her DP. I've used her markers and they're not the greatest.
I rarely buy anything over $5 without a coupon, as I always keep numerous current coupons from Mike's, ACM, or Joann's in my purse, and, as long as they come from the newspaper or a printed flyer, they're interchangeable.

This is an interesting thread; there is one chain here in NZ which stocks MS craft stuff and wedding stationery and my initial impression was, a very few nice things but all way too expensive. Now I see that impression confirmed from other parts of the world.
I have only ever bought 1 bottle of glitter and the circle cutter. I later checked my circle cutter blades against a friend's SU circle scissor blades, they look like the same thing and SU is way cheaper (must admit though I haven't used an SU blade in the MS cutter yet so experiment at your own risk )
I sort of assumed that the MS 'thing' was all about good marketing, not standout products or exceptional value.
I am a MS fan. Like any of the craft product line I love some items and others I don't care about. I really love Martha's tools. I love the Xacto knife, drill punch, and her cutting mats. I like some of her border punches but always wait for them on clearance. I love her color scheme.
