Default Why do you come to SCS??

I was just sitting here thinking about why I am on SCS and wondering what everyone else's reasons are. Is it purely social, do you come for ideas, are you here to hopefully get some business ideas?

I am on here to get ideas & interact with others who like to stamp and use the majority of the same products as I do. I also am in love with Stampin' Up! but still like to see the newest trends.

I am so happy that this site has not turned into a place where people come to get contacts for their business. This is obviously not the place nor is it appropriate. I've seen that happen on too many sites and I'm glad that most everyone here is respectful of the TOS.

Thanks SCS for making this such a fun place to come to.

Robyn

I just love this site.....I come here because I like to read what everyone is talking about.....stamping.....and I just love some of the comments....They make me laugh.....But it has cost me a lot of money....You all really have "talked" me into buying things......But I am a widow and live by myself and I get lonely too! This helps.....Thanks for having such a great site!

I'm so glad that SCS has given you something to do. I live about 1 1/2 hours from you so if you ever get too lonely you are welcome to come & stamp with me!! We could get a fun group going. (Another thing I love about SCS. The friends I've made!)

What a great question!! I come to SCS because I learn so many neat techniques and fun card ideas that I wouldn't come up with on my own. I need a lot of inspiration and this is definately the place to come.
I love all the creativity and that I can get ideas on different things other than just cards (tiles, glass etching, lunchbox tins, etc).
I can't believe all the supplies I have accrued all because I read about the newest thing on SCS. I remember just starting out with a limited supply and now I have tons of supplies.
I can see how other use certain stamps and embellishments that I might not have tried before.

I definitely come for ideas. I see things first one here. Most everyone is very friendly and helpful and I enjoy the social side of knowing we all love stamping.

I LOVE SCS - the atmosphere is *wonderful* (more than 95% of the time ;) ) and it's so much fun to be a part of such a great community. Sadly I don't have as much time as I used to to "hang out" here but I do check in every day to see what all is going on!!

I came to SCS because I wanted to learn more about making cards...and I have! Also, I have enjoyed doing Swaps, because I love to design and make cards, and to see what other make for cards. I love to look at the gallery, and see and comment on others' cards. I really appreciate how friendly, affirming, and helpful everyone is on the site. Thanks everyone! :-) LM

For me, it's all about the ideas and then building from there. I have difficulty starting something for scratch - if I see something I like, I can generally come up with something from there. Not to mention everyone on SCS is so nice!

Oh ya another reason why I love it here - it's so easy to find what I'm looking for and there's hardly any distractions - whether they be ads, siggy's etc. Daven has things set up SO well on here that the main focus is the conversations and not all the other "stuff".

I've been to other forums and while the ppl seemed really nice it was SO hard to see what was going on w/ all the blinking and flashing ads and ppl's sig lines!! Some took up a whole page!! It took forever to read threads that were mostly 3 or 4 word comments b/c I had to keep scrolling past all the pictures/blinkies/flashing sig lines - total *headache*.

So ya THAT alone makes it so much nicer to be here!!

I first came here because I was new to SU and found that I had a lot of support here. Still do. But I also like coming here to see all of the beautiful cards and other paper projects that everyone here has made. Last but not least the women here are very nice and always eager to help one another. This forum is awesome. Thanks for starting this thread.

Why not??? Originally I came only for the ideas. But once I got brave enough to start posting comments to cards and then ventured into the forums........I'm addicted now. I so love the community here and all of the wonderful people I've met and talked with, not to mention the friends I've made here. Everyone, and everything, here has truely made me a better stamper and person. Now my wallet might not think so...but that's another story.

I first started coming to SCS back when I was a demo for ideas and business tips. And the gallery of course. Well now over a year and a half later I am still here. I have made some amazing friends that I never would have known had I not come to SCS. My Chatter girls are top notch and the RULDS ladies are amazing! Hi Robyn by the way! And of course I keep coming back for all the awesome techniques and resources and the gallery! My stamping has come leaps and bounds since finding SCS. I agree Robyn, thank you SCS for all you do for us!

What a great question. My demo told me about this site and I now practically live here...lol. People are so nice, so talented and so fun.

Quite awhile back people were talking about the M's $1 stamps and my M's didn't have any. I had happened to leave a comment on a card that cardsbycarla had made using a m's stamp and guess what she did?
Yup, went to her M's, bought me the stamp and mailed it to me free of charge and also included one of "gorgeous" cards (all just for me). I was so flattered by her kindness to someone she didn't even know. I really felt welcome here.

What could you not love about this place

Yep, that's me but I am so not gorgeous! I just take really good pictures when I am at SU events and that was taken on our cruise to Alaska a few years ago. It's funny how in real life I don't look that good. Especially when I am 4 1/2 weeks away from delivering this baby!!!

BTW-I will PM you my blog address!!

I came to SCS a little over a year ago about to give up because I was a fairly new demo who was also new to stamping. I was running out of ideas on how to use my stamps and about to give up. After being on here for that Year I have become very addicted to stamps and have yet to run out of ideas to play with my stamps.... find out about new products.... and see all the wonderful artist that post here and inspire me to become better at the craft.

I joined SCS back in '04 and was mainly a lurker. I'd just go into the gallery and look at cards and then read the messages in the forums. I finally took the "plunge" to post and realized that was okay. We all share the love of stamping and it has become sort of a sisterhood. I find myself spending more time on here than I should ~ I could be stamping or scrapping. But this place is so much fun and addictive. And a valuable resource as well. Like for instance, I began to see in the gallery and on the forums that people were using Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol for watercoloring. I'm asking myself, what is this? The effects are so wonderful and I wanted to try them. I found out where and about how much I should spend on these and viola....I'm awaiting the arrival of the pencils I won on eBay last week. Being stationed overseas, I don't get to see all the newest trends and supplies in my LSS, because there isn't one. SCS is the only thing I have to find out about the great stuff out there for stampers.

Kudos to you, SCS! You are the best!!!

I come here for the inspiration - the gallery, the resources, the challenges, and VSBN. And I stay here for the friends.

I just love this site. First it was about the gallery and inspirations/ideas then I started lurking in the forums and posted a few times, people are so good about being responsive here. People here are just the nicest! Not to mention all the ideas we can get here. I've seen firsthand how generous people can be here. Social interaction is part of the reason also. There are sooo many talented people here!

I am very new to this site, but I keep coming back because of all of you awesome people and ideas! I just love it here. I have learned so much since I started coming here, and when I visit the gallery, I am usually sitting here with my mouth hung open at all of the talented people here, and all of the wonderful ideas you come up with. If I ever get stuck for ideas or have a question all I need to do is come to this site!

When my friend sent me the link to SCS, I think that I downloaded and printed off every single technique and project idea in the resources section....then I saw the link to the forums....

And then I was in trouble cause I was on all the time seeing what people were up to.

Then I discovered the gallery....

And then I decided to stay forever. I get more inspiration here than anywhere else. Even when I am in a horrible and nearly never ending stamping slump! Still come here for the ideas!

I love this sight and check it out every day unless I am out of town away from the computer. My demo sister lives 5 hours away, and I never get to go to any classes or stamp camps. SCS - You are my teachers. Thanks to you all I am learning to stamp a little bit. Also learn a lot on the forums and spend more than necessary ---well maybe it is necessary!

I come here for all the already mentioned reasons - the site is SO easy to navigate, the people are so generous, kind, talented and friendly, the gallery is AWESOME, people are so quick to offer you help & instruction. I just love it... but no one else has mentioned this reason:

TO AVOID HOUSEWORK!

This is my favorite place to spend my procrastination time ;-)

I think this site is the best thing ever. I like checking the gallery for new cards and projects. I have bought so many accesories after seeing things done with them here. The tutorials are wonderful as are the people. And as AmyR mentioned the lack of distractions and ease of navigation keep me coming back again and again. Thanks to Daven and his crew for all they do to keep this such a great site.

I come for the good ideas, both card and otherwise (ways to use stamps/products, products to buy to organized, NEW products I might "need"!)
