Okay, so first thank you to all who have answered our questions. I have a very detailed question and I hope someone can answer it as I have not actually seen this question,
Here is the "story problem" I am a demo, I have a hostess that has a $300 order, what exactly do I get in $$, rebate items, free items and etc.

(Note: These are US numbers)
As a demonstrator, you would get $60 (20%). Your hostess would receive a Level 2 stamp set plus $35 in free merchandise.
Now if you had another workshop in the same month, and can put in over $400 in sales in one calendar month, that's when you start earning more.
over $400 in one month gives you 5% back in volume rebate
over $700 in one month gives you 7% back in volume rebate
over $1000 in one month gives you 10% back in volume rebate
and it keeps going up!
There are also Great Rewards points, if you sell more than $1000 in a quarter. Whomever you choose as your upline should be able to explain all of this to you in more detail.

Thank you Yapha. You wrote the answer very clearly.
What exactly is a volume rebate and how do I use it? Is it $$ I get or more like credit that I can use to purchase supplies with?

Volume rebate is deposited directly into your bank account around the 15th of the next month. For example, if you had $1000 in sales in October, you would get $100 deposited into your bank account around November 15th.

45 days from the day you sign up HOWEVER, if you need a few things before that, you are permitted to submit orders and not forfeit this great deal, as long as your order is less than $150. The 30% only qualifies for an order over $150.
Hope that helps.

Ok I've decided that I'm signing up! Now can I do it online or do I have to mail in or fax in the agreements? I'm from Canada if that makes a difference.
Ohmigosh! I signed up last night, and placed my first demo order this morning. For whatever reason, I didn't really "get" that in addition to the 30% off and the free hostess sets, you also get the free merchandise!! Hello - what a bargain!! And a few of the items I wanted were part of the "online spectacular" so I got 30% off the sale price of those. Squeeeee - I am doing the happy dance over here!!
Of course, this order blows my "for me" Christmas budget, but that makes it easier on my DH - I just make him wrap the box and he's done! Not that I'm really going to wait until Christmas to play with my new toys... ;-)

am thinking about getting them and have it to be my Xmas presents, but to myself! (not so sure if I can wait that long to open those...)

I'm not sure what you mean by the free hostess sets and merchandise.
Signed up last night, does anyone know if or how I can place an order before I get my kit in the mail? I want to take advantage of the MDS 50% off (so glad that I saw that leaked on a US blog and assumed it would be the same in Canada, I had been planning to get it in my starter kit, but it is a much better deal both ways to get the standard kit and order MDS at 50% off)

I'm pretty sure that she will have to print off the paper application and stuff from the demo website (which all demos have access to) and fill them out and send them in. The only way to do it online that I know of is the DWBS. Congrats and welcome when you do though!!!!
I just signed up!! I am totally excited and I can't wait to get my hand on those. Hopefully I can be a good demo... or at least use those items on my girl's night in....
I still think it's hard to be a demo.... :( cuz I am so not a sale type of person
This is an awesome deal..... I was hoping my customers would "bite" at it but nobody wants to... :( Oh well.... Wish they had a deal like this when I signed up almost 6 years ago..... lol
For those signing up online, you will see your demo ID number before you leave the page where you've registered. Right after you sign up, you will receive a series of e-mails, one of which will have your password. With your ID# and password, you can go immediately to the demo side of SU! and place your order or get one started and save it.
I know this because someone signed up here with me yesterday.
i'm considering signing up cause i have few items that i want to buy, but i'm thinking i may just buy the few items since there isn't much else in the catty that interest me. I only want clear mount and that seriously limits my stamp selection. In the end, I think all i really want are a couple stamp sets and the blocks. I've been in Excel doing the math. I think i just talked myself out of joining and will just order the blocks since of all the things i could buy, the blocks are really all i want.

If you know other stampers and you happen to exchange gifts with them, you'd be getting some great buys on those "gifts" from the starter kit that you don't want. Once you're signed up, you could buy the clear blocks for yourself at a discount. Remember, too, that you can substitute all the stamp sets on the list and I suspect we will continue to see new clear mount stamp options in the future.
NOTE: This is "demo logic"; kinda like "demo math".;)
just a quick question-----can i substitute clear mount stamp sets for the wood block ones suggested, as long as the price is the same or cheaper? or does it have to be 3 wood block and 1 clear mount?

My demo sent my order out through the mail yesterday and she sent it priority so it would get there in three days. She said with Thanksgiving and all she didn't want it to be delayed. She said it HAS to be there by the
30th.

Yes, your stamps can be clear mount instead of wood. You just need to be at the same price or lower to substitute.

I signed up on Friday and am impatiently awaiting my stuff. No shipping notice yet! :(
Did I say I'm impatient? It doesn't help that it ships from Utah (right?) and I'm on the East Coast. My goodies have SO FAR to travel. :-)
Aww! I hear ya! I ordered on Thursday and my kit's not here (PA) yet. But, I got my shipping notice. Keep your fingers crossed that you'll get a shipping notice sooooon! And, try to be patient (cause I'm not!) :-D
For those Cherry Cobbler lovers, I ordered a stamp pad in this color. Now I'm really anxious to get this!

Me too Me too, I esp. requested cherry cobbler just because of this forum, otherwise, I was going to pick Real Red...I wished I joined earlier then I would had gotten my kit by now and can play around it this long weekend!
I'm soooooo glad I signed up on the 15th! I received my kit on the 18th! Now to find time to use it! I have placed a small order, and have not gotten shipping confirmation. I would imagine that they are swamped with new demo kits! It's so exciting!

I with you! I was going to do it on the 15th, but I still wasn't sure. That's what happens when you wait! Lol!!
Oh no! I got the real red and I see now that everyone LOVES the cherry cobbler. Are there drawbacks to the real red? If so, can I exchange it for cherry cobbler?
no worries! I love Real Red. Cherry Cobbler is SUCH a great color but you will want to have real red too. Real Red has more of a pink undertone, where cherry cobbler is like a dark blood red. Hope I explained that well Anyhoo, you can exchange if you absolutely want to, but trust me, you won't want to. And, you will probably end up getting cherry cobbler soon enough. Have fun with your starter kit!!
