[QUOTE=andrew overton;16275879]Good Evening Everyone, well the weekend is finished and the weather glad to say was much better sun but still bitter cold. This evening frost on the car so its still not spring yet.
On a brighter note nice to see some new names welcome Fan not sure of your name hope now you have found us you will visit us when you can. welcome too katie hope you too will post again and jenn glad to see you are back in the swing of things with CTMH. we sometimes make decisions to stop doing what we love but eventually we realise we have misssed something in our lifes, you really have missed CTMH i can tell, glad you are posting with us.
I've posted a new card on my blog tonight...with the exception of the ribbon on it, everything is CTMH. I tried the faux silk technique and really had fun making a card just because and not because I was hired to.
Pretty card, Jenn. I really like your random stamped background. I'll have to go check out the faux silk technique you used.
Hi Barbra. I follow your blog, so it's fun to see you on SCS. Maybe you could post a link to your blog or put it in your siggy so others could see your great tutorials.
I've started a card, using the TREASURE LIFE stamp set. I have not finished it though, I had to work today. I'm tired now, so may not get to it tonite either. this thread is really growing!!
Well, I finally did it. Just signed up with CTMH. Can't wait until my kit comes. I splurged and got both add on kits. I wanted pretty much everything in the add on kits and it was a really good deal. Can already log in to the consultant site, immediately after I signed up. Could not believe that. I heard someone raving about the consultant site where you could see all of the fabulous things that other consultants have made. I could not find it anywhere. Will have to look some more. Would love it if someone could head me in the right direction.
thanks,
Sandy

Look under ArtWork. You have to open the posts. They put their artwork in their posts.
Wow Terri!! YOu have alot of will power, not to open that wonderful package!! I'd be digging into it, with paper flying everywhere!! LOL
I want to enjoy it. I'm too tired tonight to enjoy the fun stuff in the box. Tomorrow night is American Idol night so Wednesday during the day is the only time I'll have free.
How can you stand it Terri???? I would have that box torn open the second it got in the door! LOL
For those of you that recently signed up and got the additional Card and/or Scrapbooking kit - was it worth it? I am debating on adding one or both on or not.

Well I did it...I signed up this morning! I already have a shipping notice that my kit will arrive tomorrow. I plan on tearing into mine the minute it comes because I won't be able to stand waiting. LOL Patience may be a virtue, but not one of mine! I added both add on packs to my kit. Having been a consultant previously I can tell you that they are worth every penny. I currently own all of the how to books except Wishes and they are just fabulous! I don't think you'll regret it if you buy both add on packs.
You new consultants are making me jealous! I have one more TAC order to place for a customer before I can sign up with CTMH.... Hopefully she will get it to me soon.

I did not get the add ons. I already own the Wishes book. I'm planning to buy the originals book also. If anyone wants the idea books, just let me know. You'd have to pay shipping, but I'd give you the books.
Sally, are you just going to call TAC and tell them you resign, or can we go ahead and order the CTMH kit, and then sign out from TAC with a written letter or something?
I ordered the add on kits because many of the items in them were on my wish list and when you added up the cost it would be crazy not to get them. I wanted all of the paper in the add on kits, the blocks, ink pads in colors I don't have and the two big books, pretty much everything. I had nothing in those kits except for the Topstitch paper which I am obsessed with and wanted more anyway.hth
Sandy

Karen - I was just going to email them. Guess I should check to see if they have to have it in writing.

I wish they offered the spots like SU and TAC... Think I will concentrate on the ink pads and then the markers later. Do any of you consultants use Copics instead of the CTMH markers?

To be honest, the markers are the one product that I really don't care for at all. For a water based marker I prefer SU's markers. *gasp* I know...just personal preference. Besides, I use mostly prismacolor, bic, or copic markers and only use water based markers when I absolutely have to.
As far as inks are concerned, yes you need them all! Seriously though, the best suggestion that I can give when it comes to purchasing inks is to purchaser the reinker at the same time. For example I might buy the cardstock, inkpad, reinker, and marker(if you want it) all at the same time. You collect the ink colors more slowly, but then you have the entire coordinating set.
When I was a consultant the first time around, I thought I just had to have all 60 ink colors and was bent on collecting them all. Well now I'm in a position of needing reinkers and I'm having to collect them one or two at a time even though I need quite a few. Yet I have other inkpads that I've used maybe once or twice in the 2+ years I've had them.
I don't suppose anyone has a Breeze reinker they'd be willing to part with??? It's a retired color and I absolutely love it. Another good reason to buy the reinker at the same time. LOL

i have the spots, and dont like it.
I have used them for projects that I have done with teens at church and somehow the lids disappear.

great tip, love it. have all the color family together. I think I will stick with one color family and once I have everything, continue with the next.

Hello Everyone, with all this talk on CTMH consultants dont forget me i wish i could share the joys in reality but i keep tellling myself im ok be grateful to get the products Andrew thats the main thing. I am really so glad for everyone who has joined while this thread has been running ,and the ones just about to start their CTMH journey soon and leaving a DSA for another CTMH, i sincerely hope everyone will be very happy.
Another subject inkpads or markers, if my opinion is worth anything concentrate on INKPADS before any companies markers i dont have the CTMH ones so i cannot commment on quality,i cannot wait to bin the markers from the company i dont like to SPEAK about, i have never ever liked these compared to others on the market, im not advertising that COMPANY on this thread, think about that when posting i know its difficult but this thread is about CTMH .
I was told the CTMH ones were stronger on the fibre tips, When you start to build up a colour family, the basics palette is a must have, Chocolate and Cocoa are two colours which will get used a lot, compared to a paler colour. if you wish to name the DSA in question i wont talk about just mention the other DSDA competitor. please dont take offense by me saying this but my personal feelings are strong on this issue.
The best way is to take your time when purchasing inkpads, and slowly bulid them up maybe getting say a green a blue a red and a brown and black these are basics , then build up on the other colours at your leisure.
Well i must dash the dinner is cooked dont want burnt offerings .
Take Care
regards Andrew

Hi to the new consultants, and welcome to CTMH! I hope you love working for this company as much as I do. A great way to get ideas for artwork is to look on the consultant bulletin boards. There are some fabulous creations posted there that I wish everyone had access to! The Business forum is also great if you have any questions about just about anything. Other consultants are always willing to help, especially if you preface your "dumb" question with "Hi, I'm new and was wondering . . . " (I put dumb in quotes because there are no dumb questions, just unanswered ones.)
My 2 cents on the inks: I have them all except the pigment ones (White Daisy, Colonial White, and Vanilla Cream). I didn't order the pigment pads because I hate waiting for them to dry. I'd rather use Versamark ink and embossing powder if I want white on my projects. All the pads I bought are pretty juicy, so I am just now getting re-inkers after being a consultant for 2 years. I order them as I need them, but ordering them with your pads is a great idea too. I also have almost all the markers. They are great when you want to bump up your order just a tiny bit to reach the next sales level.
I like the "other" markers better for the fine tip on the one end. I love the colors of the CTMH markers, my main reason for decidding to switch over to CTMH paper. However, the finer tip (or smaller one) is too large too color smaller spaces. The "other" marker has a better tip, for me, on that end.
Just wondering now that we're talking about markers...are they refillable?

I have had many of my ink pads for 7 years. While they have not all seen trememndous love and use, they are still nice and fresh...go figure! In fact, on my list for my order next Quarter is a bunch of refills I don't have. I kinda like filling my quota myself, lol!! ;)
The CTMH markers are not refillable. I guess I should clarify my preference for the "other" markers is because of the tips they use. It is definitely NOT a lack of quality for the CTMH markers. So for those of you who haven't tried the CTMH markers, please do so. Like I said, it is just personal preference.
Sally, are you just going to call TAC and tell them you resign, or can we go ahead and order the CTMH kit, and then sign out from TAC with a written letter or something?
Karen,
You'll need to resign from TAC before you can sign up with CTMH. On the CTMH application, it will ask if you're currently a consultant for another company.
Also, somebody asked about the add on kits....well worth the money! The stamping kit is worth $150 and you'll get it for $50 and the scrapping kit is worth $180 and you'll get it for $60.
I can only speak from that other DSA point of view but I've used reinkers for other things beyond a stamp pad. I've hand dyed ribbon on numerous occasions, which is great to color coordinate with a project. I did a card with that embossed reinker spread and I'm sure there are tons of other uses to be found on this site in the resources. The water based markers are another issue completely. I have never been able to get a good color that didn't show tons of lines. I've even tried the aqua painters and blender pens. Yet after all the money I've spent on them I hang on hoping that I'll get "it" at some point. By the way, if our thread leader will indulge me, I found a website that has the equivalent CTMH to that other DSA's colors. Which is a little bit of financial help when switching over to CTMH.

Thanks so much for the info, I didn;t think they were. The conversation just sparked my memory, lol!
I have been meanign to type "Congrats on resigning" everytime I am on the PC. Something always comes up to lead my focus astray. :(
I liek the markers very much, just wish that one tip was a little smaller/finer.

I know that thread! It's a great resource if you are switching from the "other" company and have a lot of their stuff still left to use up...or even just to incorporate it into what you're doing.
Thank you Suz!! I appreciate your info on resigning!Sally, You have been with TAC much longer than I have! I think they have lost alot of their demos recently!! The company is just so uncertain now, I wonder if it will even be in business in another yr or so!! I'm definately ready to move on!! LOL
