i was trying this afternoon to work with kurtis tutorial. it seamed so easy. so i made a little watermark and now that i want to add it to my cards my photoshop adobe 5.0 is not responding anymore as soon i drag the mark onto my picture-card.
what am i doing wrong? i also couldnt see an option to have my layer transparent. i have everything in blue like kurtis and than the fonts in different opacity shades.
you open both images watermark and card picture in the photoediting program, card is the main big image and than you drag the watermark into the picture, right? what about the blue background?
were did you get all the cute swirls in the watermarks? did you have to purchase them?

Okay, I am subscribing so I can go through and use all these wonderful tutorials when I have time to mess with it. I have created a watermark, but I have to figure out how to get it on my picture in a quick and easy way! Thanks ladies for all your help!

(okay, I know I made up that word...but it fits so nice in the song lyrics...teehee!)
I can make watermarks for those of you who want one (free), just PM me and try to tell me in as much detail what it is you want (Can't promise I can make exactly what you want, but will do my best).
I will make .png files, so you will have to have a program what will support that type of file. Here is a list of programs that do:
Stampinkub has a great tutorial for making a watermark. (stampinkub.com) Look in his tutorial section and you'll find it. I had to watch it several times, and then when I actually did make my own, I had to watch 5 seconds or so and then pause, do that step, watch then next step, pause, do the next step.... well you get the idea! One thing it took me several tries to figure out is that when you link your layers you do NOT link the background layer or you'll create a block on your card, not a watermark.
Oh, and it helps to save a version that is unlinked so that you can play with the opacity or color of each layer for when you are putting it over a dark vs light card. White watermarks don't really show up well on white cards!

don't mean to hijack, but i can make them too. i save them as .png files, so all you have to do is copy and paste them.
i recommend gimp as well. free, and easy to use for editing photos for your gallery.
but yeah. if anyone needs a watermark, please feel free to pm me.

But, just incase there is anyone out there that doesn't have the programs to make their own watermark (or just getting too frustrated trying), I thought I would just mention that Beth at http://freckledandfun.blogspot.com/ does a wonderful job of watermarks and banners. Her info is at the bottom of her blog.
I'm subscribing too. This is way beyond my capabilities!
