Oh Lord! THank you for this! lol I even wrote to Michaels and asked them to please indicate on their store locator part of the website which stores are "revamped" and which ones are the "original style".
I'll start: The new, revamped Michaels I recently had the great pleasure of shopping in was in West Palm Beach, FL. It was easily found on Okeechobee Blvd just one block west of I-95. Ya can't miss it!
If anyone knows of one in Broward County, FL, please post!!
We have a BRAND SPANKING new Michaels fixin to open in Homestead February 1st!!! right off the Turnpike and Campbell drive exit.. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO I cant wait!
I have one near me in Smithfield, Rhode Island - from what I was told this store is a test run to see how it works out.... was also told that they would be stocking 20,000 NEW products in the store - which it has been 6 months and have not seen too many new items - they took all the old product and distributed it to the other old store in Warwick, RI and some of the nearby MA stores!
There is one in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I haven't been there yet, but my friend has raved about it! The address is: 10240 Maysville Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
None in Ohio that I know of!! When I read some of the great things a lot of you write about finding at your Michaels I wonder what our stores really are...maybe outlets for out-dated leftovers. I never find good things like all of you talk about.
In my opinion - it does look good - they are keeping it neat and clean - I just don't like the set up of the scrap booking/stamping area - I prefer to be able to look at all the same product at once not have to go into ta "rat" maze with the little aisles - and I would like to see more of the "20,000 newproducts" they were saying the store would be getting - for instance they are 3 sets behind on the cuttlebug stuff - they have been getting all the new cricut items in - now I realize that the new products are not only going to be papercrafts but come on - they haven't even updated the rubber stamps with new ones in months!!! I prefer to still go to the older Mike's but the new one is less than 3 miles from home so I do go there often as well!
If you're on the middle eastern edge of Ohio, there is a brand spankin' new Michaels in Monaca, PA. Just down from the Beaver Valley Mall, in the same plaza as Target. It is awesome.
There's a new-styled Michael's in the new shopping center at 1604 and Culebra in San Antonio. Doesn't seem much better/different than the regular Michael's...
There is a "new generation" store in Riverside, CA off the 60/215 interchange in the Canyon Springs area.
There is also a "new generation" store in Las Vegas. It's off the 95 near Centennial Hills shopping center. I forget the name of the off-ramp but it's between Ann and Durango in the Wal-mart shopping center.

Ooh, thanks for the info! I drive through Ft. Wayne a lot on my way to visit family in Michigan. I'll have to make this a stop one day.

So - are the ones in PA, VA and NJ really good - as far as stamping supplies? Our local one doesn't really have much in that line - same old, same old stamps, paper etc. I don't think they've gotten a new CB folder in YEARS! Thanks for any info!
I used their store locator. Is this the one on Mount Hope Ave.? If it is, then it's less than an hour away from me. It's actually closer to me than the one in Riverhead, NY, which is an hour and a half. I'll be taking a little road trip soon. Thanks for the info.

I'm in southeastern PA near Philly, and none of the local Michaels have anything thrilling in the stamping areas. The stamps aren't anything great, although they recently revamped the selection. Next to nothing in clear stamps. They discontinued all of the rollagraph stuff. In inkpads, just a smattering of several lines, some ColorBox, a few Ranger Distress Inks, etc. Never a complete line of anything. In our area, I think ACMoore has the better stamp department.
There is one in Mchenry, Illinois. It is a far north suburb of Chicago, not too far from the Wis. border. They redid the whole store and the scrapbooking-rubberstamping-cardmaking section is the entire center of the store.
There is a revamped store in Silverdale, WA. On Silverdale Way. What a change from the old store. There scrapbook and stamp section is awesome. As well as great storage and organization item, and the Martha Stewart section is to die for. I love the new Michaels.

Wow- I didn't realize Michaels was revamping and opening new stores since they just closed the one close to me in Illinois. Maybe they will open somewhere else close by.
