Default Where are the great stamp stores in VA?

Hi!

I'm going to Virgina next month to visit my daughter as she's stationed at Portsmouth/Norfolk.

Well, no trip would be complete without a quick stop at the local stamp stores, right? Please help me out here and tell me what's around there. I'm sure there's Michael's, but I'm wanting to visit something more unique.:p

Thanks much for your help! I sure am looking forward to this VA trip as my daughter will be shipping out for Japan shortly after...and then, it'll be (hopefully) Japan and Copics here I come!!!!!

Here is a copy and paste from the Web I just did. I would call before I go to any of these stores. I dont' know how often the site is updated.

The ones I have been to that I like are Angela's Happy Stamper, Memories Galore-this one is more scrapbooking, Hand Craft House and the one I want to go to is Blue Ridge Impressions. Enjoy your time in VA and I wish you daughter luck.

Color Wheel, Total Crafts and Cami's Paperie no longer exist....(sigh)

I am almost certain that there is a very nice store in Williamsburg, which is not that far from where you will be.

Best of luck with your daughter.

I live across the water in Yorktown & I don't recognize any of those stores as being close by ~ and I only know of two on the Peninsula that are within a reasonable driving distance from Norfolk ~ one is in Yorktown ~ but it is a very small mostly scrapping store (very few 'stamping' supplies) & the other is in Williamsburg ~ has lots & lots of stamping stuff ~ Stamp N Memories ~ 4640-9A Monticello Ave Williamsburg VA 23188 ph. 757 565 7323 (I believe she is closed on Sun).

This is probably too far west for your trip, but the Craft House in Harrisonburg is also out of business.

Annondale, Leesburg, McLean & Reston are all in the DC metro area, 3-4 hrs from Norfolk. The store in Williamsburg is wonderful, a real stamping store, and it is closed on Sunday. There are a couple stores in Chesapeake and Va Beach, but I haven't been to those yet.

StampNMemories in Williamsburg is a wonderful store. Recommend it! Store is closed on Sunday but now open till 7pm during the week. Sandy and Kevin have lots of stamping and scrapbook items.

FYI...Craft House in Harrisonburg has closed. Handcraft House in Madison is a wonderful store with LOTS of stamping and scrapbooking supplies!! Check their hours online...I think they are closed on Mondays.

I live in Virginia Beach, just down the road from where your daughter is stationed. Other than Michaels and AC Moore, there isn't much here. The scrapbook store (Beach Scrapbook) carries a few stamps but nothing worth the drive. The store in Williamsburg is your best bet for a fun trip. Plus you can go outlet shopping!
