You know, if you're only looking to make envelopes with a square/rectangle flap, then it's not to hard to come up with your own measurements. I do that quite a bit. For example for a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card, here are measurements.
Size paper
Width + 1/4 inch buffer plus 1/2 inch for each edge. That's 5.5 + .25 + (2 x .5) = 6.75
((Height + 1/4 inch buffer) x 2) + 1/2 inch for adhesive. That's ((4.25 + .25) + .5) = 9.5
Scoring
Width: Score 1/2 inch on each side
Length: This is trickier since you need to account for the height of the card which would be 4.25 inches in this example. I like a 2 inch flap so I score 2 inches for flap and then for the next score I need to add 2 inches + the height of the card + buffer. For this envelope, you score at 2 inches and at (2 inches + 4.25 +.25 = 6.5). Again, the first score line is at 2 inches for the flap and the second will be at 6.5 inches for the fold that makes the bottom of the envelope.
Trimming
Cut away pieces at each corner that are not needed for adhesion. You end up with kind of a plus or cross shape. Take an envelope apard it you need a visual image. Be sure it's an envelope with a square/rectangular flap.
Construction
Fold over the two 1/2 inch wide flaps left at the center body of the envelope on each side. Fold up the base of the envelope. Make a visual note as to where adhesive is required. Apply adhesive and adhere envelope together.
If you're able to follow those instructions, then that's a formula you can use for making just about any size envelope.
