Hi everyone! Who is your favorite company? What company are you a demonstrator with? My daughter is a Stampin Up Demonstrator and I'm trying to decide if I should sign up for a company or just buy whatever I want. I really like TAC products, but then I see all these other companies that have great stuff too! I want to start having workshops and I think it would get to confusing for everyone if I had this from this company and that from that company. Any ideas? I may just buy whatever I want from whom ever and just have everything.
I love SU....but I also love Papertrey, Verve, Inkadinkado, Our Daily Bread..just to name my top 5...lol so many stamps so little time...
blessings.
I know, that's my problem, I want every stamp!! But I know it would be to many of them. I like the discounts and the specials you get from being a demonstrator. I love Papertrey's stamps too! Stampin up! The Angel Company! I just get finding more and more sites with stamps.
Penny Black stamps are my favorites. I really love a lot of "cute" images because I enjoy coloring them. I used to be a demonstrator for Stampin Up a few years ago and used to only buy SU stuff because I could not afford anything else. Now I love to go to my local stamp store, pick up a new stamp some gorgeous new designer paper or whatever catches my eye there.
I don't think it is neccessary to teach a class with using only one company's products. This way you can concentrate on "teaching" and less on "selling". You could have a sheet of the items you used and where you got them from and if anyone is interested in getting them then they will know where to find them.
Just be sure to charge enough for your classes to cover your material cost and time.

Great information. Thank you!! I will do that, I won't even worry about what I use. If I like it, I will use it.

Before you sign up with any company, check the fine print. I know that SU has some rules/conditions that you are supposed to agree to in terms of using/not using non-SU products and I'm willing to bet other companies have similar conditions.

Ok. I will. Thanks a bunch! I'm not sure at this point if I'm going to sign up with anyone, I love so many different stamps and paper that it's hard to choose.
I am a SU demo and have been one for about 5 years now. I really enjoy it. I signed up for the discount but ended up with a great group of girls that I look forward to our monthly club meetings and other events. While I love SU, I also love other companies things.(I am an equal opportunity stamper, lol). There are rules, one being that when demoing you have to use only SU. This isn't a problem for me at all, but I do use other things for my personnal use along with my SU. I am not a strictly business demo, I do it more as a hobby so that I think makes a difference in buying habits. Have fun in whatever you decide to do, whether becoming a demo for SU or another company or just continuing to be supportive of all the great companies out there!
Gina K (for her stamps, customer service and cardstock)
Stampin' Up (for the cardstock mostly)
Papertrey (the cardstock and stamps. Ohmyheck the stamps)
Cornish Heritage Farms (for the stamps)

I used to love SU, but I haven't really cared for there stamps lately and financially can't afford it. I love Papertrey and Hero arts probably the most! I usually stick with getting my colored cardstock thru SU.

LOL. I know, I love Papertrey's stamps!
LOL. I love your signature! I thought about smelling my dogs feet, but I decided not to.
Well, I have a lot of SU stamps but haven't really purchased any new ones since last year. Their stamps just don't appeal to me any more and seem very similar to a lot of the ones I already have. I still use them but my new favorites are the Amuse Art Stamps. They're very cute and versatile and I can whip up a really cute card quickly when I'm in a hurry. I've been taking classes from an Amuse designer at a LSS and have had a lot of fun with them.

Looked at their site, very nice stamps! Ok. so what is LSS?? I really need to get with the program huh? LOL
Oh, my favorite companies are (in no particulare order):
Papertrey Ink (Love their stamps and their cs)
Stamping Bella (Love my Bellas, Fellas, FellaBellas, Huggabuggs, Chichiboulies, etc. etc.)
The Greeting Farm (Love Anya, Ian and the WS lines)
They all get far too much of my money and I know my DH would prefer I stop visiting their websites on a regular basis! LOL! Ummm...that won't be happening anytime soon though! Hehe! ;)

If you absolutely love so many companies, then don't sign up to represent any one because you'll find your finances may not be able to support your addiction to maintaining a demonstratorship for whoever AND purchasing from other companies. As a representative if you're going to try and sell to other people, then you have all the expenses of catalogs, order forms, possible company website fees, etc. that drastically cut into your play money. If you don't plan on selling to others, then you have to come up with all the money to maintain your demonstratorship time and time again. You might be better off just shopping the sales for all the companies you like. By signing up with any one company, you'll get stuck with living by all their little rules on how you can represent yourself and your stamping and how you can talk about how much you love other companies and such. Not signing up means you only have to answer to yourself and you're free to buy as much or as little as you want at any given time.
P.S. I find I'm spending a lot of money on Tim Holtz's line of stamps, CHF, Eat Cake Graphics, Purple Onion Designs, and have an order going together for PTI. That doesn't mean I don't buy from others - I've recently found some really unique stamps that fit my stamping needs from some smaller companies that you don't hear a lot about. So, I spread my spending around.
I was an SU Demo until they came out with the "no other products" rule. Please beware that you cannot post cards using other stamps that are nonsu on your blog if you have one. When you are an SU demo you are one 24-7 as they say. You can only 'incidentely' say the name or maker of a non-SU product also.
Since I left SU I have dicovered a whole new world of stamping.
I still buy some SU but nothing like I used to.

Gosh, what are my favorite stamps? Where do I start? I don't think I've ever met a stamp I haven't liked; that's my problem!
1. Penny Black---That company has so very many awesome stamps! One of my favs is their "Penny Black Cute" line---love those hedgehogs!
2. Stampendous--The fluffles stamps are so cute. I love the "Bee Happy" collection too.
3. Inkadinkado---The "Kate Harper" Kid quote stamps make some perfect sentiments to use inside and on the card fronts.
I could go on and on, but those are my top three. Enjoy!
