Default What's your favorite craft tote?

I'm looking for the "perfect" tote to take to scrapbooking & stamping workshops.

Any suggestions?

I live in Canada.

Oh, thats a GREAT question. My sister got one for me at Sam's or Costco its the large suede type that has a scrapbooking album and all the embellishments included. I took it recently to a shoexbox swap and its was great. Space is limited at the facility we gather at, but I put it beside me under the table and asked to person next to me and she said she had enough room.

Love to hear what others are using!!!!

When I find it, I will be screaming from the rooftops. In the meantime, I really like a medium size JoAnn's brand scrapbook tote for albums, paper, pens, scissors, etc. I also like my new Creative Memories 12x12 tote in fashionable teal and brown that holds page planners, craft keepers with chipboard, etc. For cutting tools, I use a regular tote and for all the boxes of embellishments, stamps, inks and loose cs, I have a wheel crate (teacher thing) from Office Depot. Sounds like a lot to haul and it is but I like having stuff with me. One word of caution -- the big wheeled scrapbook totes can really hold a ton of stuff but they get too heavy to get in and out of the car.
Good luck with this search!

I really want to hear the answers to this one! I currently use a small jewelry rolling tote that I got on sale. But then I have to lug my stamps in a big 20 gallon rubbermaid tub, and my paper in an over-stuffed expandable file folder AND then my punches and envelopes in a small tote bag (free casino give away) AND! then my embellishments in a repurposed ice cream tub. I obviously need to find the perfect tote also.

I am thinking of getting this one.

To Jent: is this the one your sister has?

I like it, but I don't know if that is the right way to go.

I second this one. I have a lavender one the Large Mimi. I put my fiskars paper trimmer on the side pocket. What I like from it it is light weight when empty. AND the most important is that the two handles are stitched on the walls and not on the top. It is important if you carry heavy stuff otherwise it forces the zipper if the handle is on the top like the Crop in style and other brand name (they are black) I used to have one and sold it to someone as I was affrayed that the top cover would open suddenly and everything would fall appart.

I have a rolling tote from Joann's. it has plenty of pockets on the outside to tuck things away. Tons of pen holder loops... The main cavity has 2 dividers that can be moved around or taken out. It also has pockets on those dividers. I like it cuz I can fit so much into one thing and like someone else said, with the handles on the sides I feel like it I can lift it around and not worry about things falling apart.

The tote in the Cosco link looks really nice. It looks like it would hold quite a bit of stuff but still be manageable. Seems rather pricey, though.

I used to have that one from Costco only mine was blue and not micro suede. That thing holds A LOT. All the pockets open up and have dividers, elastics for pens, etc. Here's a good pic of it opened up: http://www.storage4crafts.com/shopx/...ails/d_189.gif

It was nice quality and was awesome for organization - I knew exactly where everything was. I even bought the matching tote. I only sold them because I stopped going to crops and such. But, if I were going to start traveling with my supplies more, I would totally re-buy it!

I also use the MiMi tote and agree, it holds everything you want to take for some serious crafting. My daughter gave me the MiMi Traveltote for christmas a while back and I love that for packing only the things I want to work on in the session instead of the whole caboodle. Having said that, you can still get heaps in that too. Both are extremely sturdy and still look like new after about 3 years. I've been really happy with them!

I've done price comparison, that is the cheapest for that exact tote as the shipping and handling is included in a price (which is in Canadian dollars). They also have some other Mimi ones that are smaller and cheaper.

Pricewise, that is a very good deal. I have one of the black ones with the handle sewn in the top and I have not been using it as I am afraid it will get ripped so I have been looking for a new one. I paid much more than that for mine and it isn't nearly that nice. I am seriously thinking about one of those totes, and it's so pretty too.

I got one of these at Mennards for $47.00. They make an official scrapbook version that is a teal and yellow color for $119.00. This is the exact same thing.

I have a Crop in Style Stamp Store and love it. It has drawers. I plan my projects and put each project in a drawer. The items that don't fit in the drawers are put in either the top section or one of the pockets. It does have a pocket for 12X12 stuff but it doesn't hold a lot. It's more for stamping. If I have something too big for it, I use a heavy duty tote bag that I bought at Archiver's.

http://www.1stopsquare.com/cropinstyle.html

I couldn't find it on the Crop in Style site though. They must have stopped making them. Looks like they can be found though through other vendors. I have had mine about six years now. I think I got it at Michaels with a 50% coupon.

I've had a couple of different wheeled totes but have sold all but this one. I really love it.

I just got a scrapbug butterfly rolling tote - I love it! I purchased some of their other storage containers as well and love them all. I really love the built in paper file on the front because finding the paper I want when at a crop has always been a problem for me.
