I usually do a sentiment related to the "subject" - sometimes do a computer-generated one or just hand-write it. I've been trying to remember to stamp a small coordinating accent on the inside too, but I usually forget!
My cards don't feel finished to me unless I stamp a coordinating image on the inside and on the envelope. I seldom include a sentiment inside, because I prefer to write my message. Also, for the cards I sell, I never include a sentiment inside, because I try to make them fit various occasions.

99% of the time, so far, I've stamped a sentiment, and usually decorate it in some way with stamps that coordinate with the front and sometimes embellishments.
Usually there is at least a white/ivory cardstock layer on the inside, especially if the front is layered or else it feels off-balance with too much weight on the front and just the base for the inside.
I leave them blank on the inside but will do a coordinating envelope. I feel that way my cards can be more personalized for different reasons/occasions as the need arises. When I find one, then I'll go back and personalize the inside with coordinating materials and stamps.
For the troops I leave the insides blank most of the time. For the swim teams I support and my hubbys desk and the church bookstore, I always put a sentiment on the inside. I guess it just depends on what I am working on that day.
blessings.
I love to stamp an appropriate sentiment when I can because it sometimes too difficult to think of lengthy things to say for some occastion (like a co-worker's bday). In fact I tend to buy lots of 'inside' sentiments because just the right one makes all the difference.
My new thing is to decorate the inside a bit aka beate style, although mine are way more simple. I am currently using a neutral CC with a strip of the DP from the front and then a small image with my sentiment. HERE is a recent card of mine that you can peek at the inside. It's simple and I usually have the scrap sitting on my pile anyway.
I also always try to remember to stamp the back with a small coordinating image and sign my name like a Hallmark;)

I have to share my signage with you.In the past when I have made the odd card, what I put at the back of the card was BTAH .......Better Than A Hallmark.....
They say you choose a Hallmark card when you care enough to send the very best``. I think that when you take the time to make a card yourself, instead of getting one off the store shelf....that is the `very best card``.
I leave my cards blank inside until its time to give it to someone. Then I will personalize it for the occasion and person. You know, its always in the back of my mind, whether the person I am giving the card to will throw it away or not.:cool:
