Love the SU dye inks too...mostly because I love perfect color co-ordination and how they stamp...and I also love my Stazon Black & Brown pads because they give such crisp images for watercoloring...
Palettes are by far my favourite. They work for almost anything (except embossing) and that way I don't have to remember what ink to use for what job as they will work on paper, fabric, wood, etc.
versafine black or brown. They're waterproof, so I can stamp now, and marker, paint, or whatever later.
i also like Colorbox in the Chianti.... its a nice, deep, rich red... i use this pad more than i do my true red-colored inkpads
For stamping images I use Memento Tuxedo Black because I can use it with most of the coloring mediums that I have and I never have to guess as to which ink I used before I start coloring, (I do up several images at a time then go back later and color them). For other stamping I like using my SU ink because it coordinates with my cardstock and ribbon.
For stamping I mostly use Versafine Onyx Black.
For using with photos and alcohol inks I use Rangers Archival Black.
Apart from that, I love Tim Holtz's distress inks for stamping, sponging and colouring, Colorbox Pigment for sponging and Brilliance pearlescents for a bit of shimmer. But I think when those DewDrops go dry I probably won't replace them, whereas I will - already have with some - replace the ColorBox Cats Eyes.
I only bought one SU ink, the cool caribbean, and a reinker, no matter what it always stamps all washed out and lame. I don't know why that is but I never bought another. I hear people LOVE SU ink though and I'm bummed because I want a million inks and would happily order all of them if I thought they'd work for me.
So. My favorite inks I can get in a bunch of colors is Vivid Dye Inks. I think I have all of them. Colorbox's Fluid Chalk ink in chestnut roan (brown) I have is the most consistant ink I've ever used. I don't know how many colors it comes in, but the brown is totally consistant even with solid images, which give me trouble to get great coverage.
I like the papertrey inks that are the new pigment formula pretty well too. I don't like Palette, so I never liked the old formula.
i'm CRAZY picky about inks.

1. Archival Jet Black dye ink by Ranger - this one stays on my work area all the time.
2. Versacolor cubes (pigment inks by Tsukineko).
3. Memento Dew Drops (dye inks by Tsukineko).
4. Versamagic Dew Drops (chalk inks by Tsukineko).
5. Tim Holtz distress inks by Ranger.

Dangit, I JUST read that they are discontinuing the inks I like ENTIRELY. I can't decide if I want to try to stock up on what they may still have or just move on. I respect the reason for the decision, just errrrg!

My very fav black is Versafine. Without a doubt, that is the BEST ink for me. Once hubby is back to work (soon, PLEASE!!!), I'd like to get a few more of the Versafine inkpads.
I also love my S/U, but their black is awful - always has been, which is probably why I'm sooooo in love with the Versafine!

I'm a fan of Versafine too - I use Vintage Sepia a fair bit, along with Oynx Black. My current go-to inks are Distress Inks - you can do just about anything with them! I particularly love the way they both interact with water and keep true to their colours at the same time.

They are discontinuing the inks made by their current manufacture and will be coming out with new ones hopefully in Oct. so if you can wait til then you won't need to worry about stocking up!
Mostly it depends on what color I need. I adore my Distress Ink and Brilliance Pearlescent Ink, and also love and use Adirondack Dye, Memento, Staz-On, Colorbox Chalk, Nick Bantock, Marvy Dye, and I use mainly India Ink and Alextamping for black. Deep, rich blacks. I love SU and CTMH's colors, but I hate the pads so don't have as many of those. Aackkkk! I have way too many ink pads, but I love em all.

I use SU! inks for all my colors, I like Memento for coloring with Copics and I like Palette Noir for my black. I don't like the SU! black, it always looks purple to me! But, the rest of the SU! ink family is totally a true color match to the cardstock. Love that matchy matchy thing!
I Love Colorbox chalk and VersaMagic for my clear stamps (I Love that I can emboss with these also if I want too). Staz-On Brown and Black stays on my work surface at all times, great for watercoloring or Prisma with OMS. TH Distress inks are awsome also but I need some of the new colors still.
My ink selection depends on the project I'm doing. If I'm coloring with Copics, I use Memento. I love Stazon for coloring with dye based markers and home decor projects. For general stamping, I like using CTMH inks. I have a lot of their colors. I also like the (now retired) pigment based Papertrey inks when they want to cooperate with me (which is not always the case).
ALL tsukineko inks - memento, brilliance & versamagic i use CONSTANTLY for EVERYTHING and the best part is i can get them in dew drop sizes - cheap to get them all and easier to store.
also love tim holtz distress inks when i am doing that sort of thing.
nick bantock are gorgeous but have been discontinued :(
I have about 20 different SU! pads and about 10 reinkers, I mostly use my 70+ versa colours, stazon in about four colours and I have a set of 30 Inque Boutique inks. I use Brilliance black and white when doing back grounds, as the versacolours are only the inch cubes. I totally love all the effects I get from all these inks. I have some colourbox petal inks as well. I haven't used them for a while.
I have fiinally sourced Ranger inks in Australia, and will be getting a whole load of them very soon.
