What are your favorite colors of Stickles and why?
Hi,
I am getting ready to put in an order for Stickles and just wondered what your favorite/can't live without colors are and why/what you use them on. For example: someone might say, "I like gold because I use it for the crown on Cool Cat." Does that make sense? It's hard to tell what the colors look like on the web, so any suggestions are welcome.
p.s. For anyone who may be wondering, Stickles is a brand of glitter glue by Ranger.
I like to use a dot of green stickles in the middle of a flower ... I'm new to Stickles and I love them ... have yet to try out some of the other colours I bought.
You could use red on hearts for Valentines. Also for holly berries at Christmas time.
I have turquoise, green, purple, pink and clear. I've used them ALL for the center of flowers - it depends what color I've colored the flower.
Any of them would work for a "dot" necklace on a girl, or on her hair bow.
Maybe the clear for a "twinkle" in someone's eye.
Any colors would work for polka-dots on any image, or a girl's dress, etc.
I'll shut up now. LOL .......off to do more lurking.
Oh, and this one's probably my favorite one I made with a flower. (for now! LOL)
I constantly use the yellow for my flower centers. I also use the white and light blue for the bubbles when I use the set Bubble Queen. I use it for the jewelry on "Going Out In Style". Yes - I am hooked on stickles!!!
Oooh, I am a big Stickles fan! I love the Stardust, Crystal and Waterfall ones. I love to use them to add a touch on dragonfly wings, centers of flowers and flower petals, the wings on fairies, and sometimes just a dot here and there on the card to make the final touch.

Thanks to everyone who replied! This has been very helpful!
I forgot to say the first time that I think I have already decided on Christmas Red, Yellow, Gold, Waterfall, and maybe Diamond. I already have a purple, green and blue.
This is the description out of our TAC catalog:
"Let your art sparkle with acid free, non-setting Stickles glitter glue. .5-oz bottle with fine tip applicator."
I know Hobby Lobby has them but only in 3-packs (at least at our local store). So if you're looking for specific colors, that could be a disadvantage that you have to buy a 3-pack. I'm thinking they were around $6, not for sure though. We also sell them individually in our TAC catalog, $2.25 each, 16 colors to choose from.
They are addicting to work with! You can really add a touch of glimmer to pretty much anything. Just make sure you do it LAST when making your card. It does require plenty of drying time.
How does the stickles lay on paper? Is it *flat* like using glue pen & glitter or *thick* like crystal effects & glitter?
I searched for stickles in Michael's but cudn't find it. Do they carry it & if yes, in which aisle?
I'm in Canada, so we don't have TAC here...
Is it *flat* like using glue pen & glitter or *thick* like crystal effects & glitter?
It really could end up either way. You use the fine-tip applicator to spread it around if you want it all thinned out and flat. Or just leave it in a "blob" for a raised effect.

I like the yellow to colour the light part of a lighthouse. Yellow is also great for the center of flowers. Purple is just plain pretty! They just seem like an easy way to give a card that finishing touch.
First of all, thanks again to everyone who has responded. This has really been a huge help! For those of you who have been wondering where to buy them, I was going to order mine from franticstamper.com. She has a huge selection of just about everything, so I was going to order some other stuff with my Stickles. I have ordered from there before was pleased with the transaction.
Can anyone tell me whether the clear stickles are different than Crystal Effects, and which is better for what?
I haven't seen Stickles here in Canada yet, and I am hoping someone can comparison shop for me before I do an online order.
TIA
Many Local Scrapbook Stores (even here in Canada) carry them.
They are very different from Crystal Effects. Crystal Effects gives more of a 3-D shine to whatever it's applied to. Stickles glitter (sometimes colored, sometimes irridescent) in clear or colored glue.
HTH! You can look in my gallery, I use Stickles on about every card.
I use the Crystal most, though do like the Holly Berry (green and red) for Christmas, and Icicle for snow. I have about 10 colors I think, and love them all!

I just checked out a few websites I got directly from Ranger, the manufacturer. I found that by far, franticstamper.com has the biggest selection. I didn't check all of the sites they list, just a few. You can buy all 31 colors from franticstamper.com for $58.99, that's a great price!
There are some TAC reps here at SCS. I ordered from Glitter_girl. She was very helpful. I expecially like the 2 clear ones. As someone already mentioned, you put them over any color you currently have. It adds just enough sparkle. I also like the turquoise. It coordinates well with Tempting Turquoise. They are easier to use then our dazzling diamonds because there is no mess to clean up. JMHO.
Honestly the stickles reminds me of the puff paint glitter glue stuff. I've got quite a few brands of glitter glue myself. Crayola even offers quite a bit. http://www.dickblick.com/zz238/38/
After reading this thread I picked up stickles from LSS on friday. They only had crystal though. Guess what, I used it on every card I've made since then!! Oh, why didn't I discover it before I bought gazillion different glitter & glue pen that is just so messy to use!!
