I need to make an umbrella handle for a card...what do you think would work best? Cord? Microbeads? Just draw it with a marker (eek, I can't draw)? I have a stamp with an umbrella on it, will be paper piecing the umbrella, cutting it out and glueing it to another image...but it will be impossible to cut out the handle as it is just a line drawing! Any suggestions, or links with ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Can you stamp just the umbrella handle by using a marker on just the handle and stamping it where you want it using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig? Then paper piece the rest of the umbrella?
I think for dimension you could use something like cord or floss and use craft glue on it to stiffen it. Make longer than you need, and tie it ot a pencil or something. Then, coat it with craft glue that will dry clear. Twist it so it doesn't look like thread or whatever. Then, when it's almost dry, bend it to make the handle. That sounds like it might work in my head. Whether it will actually, who knows. But, it might look cool.

Things I have use to make a handle out of is Wire. and Pipe cleaner.
You could also use Puffy Paint liquid applique Cardstock cut out and layered.
The current issue of Paper Crafts had an "it's a shower" card, and they punched out 1/2" circle, then punched a smaller hole thru the center, then cut in half for the curve. To make the stem (long part) cut a strip of paper the same width as the circle....theirs looks really nice on pg. 82 if you have the mag. Good luck!
If you have a CrackerBarrell store/restaurant near you, they carry toothpicks that have carved ends. Very cute! I use them for "knitting needles" with tiny thread and then glue them to cards and nametags! I think that might be cute as an umbrella handle, too!
