Default What SU Retiring Stamps to Order

Now that the SU retiring list is out here comes the fun of deciding what to get. Whenever the new catalog comes out I make a list of the stamps I love (yes I have OCD ) so if it was not on the list before no need to fall in love with it now. Since I am trying to be more purposeful in craft spending there are a few factors to consider:

1. I must love it not just like it.
2. It must be versitile.
3. Make sure that it is different from stamps I already own.
4. Is there something that is not retiring that I love just as much.

Here is my list of possibilities:

Grateful Greetings - Likely a pass because I would rather have God's Blessings & eventually Teeny Tiny Wishes

Serene Snowflakes - Likely a pass since I already own the retired Lace Snowflakes

Scenic Season - Likely a pass because Lovely as a Tree is similar/more versitile and not retiring

Barouqe Motifs - I will definitely order this one.

Christmas Collage - This is a possibility. I do love it for its elegance, but not too sure about versitility.

Medallion - Likely a pass since I like it, but would rather have Hello Doily which is not retiring

God's Blessings -Definitely getting this one. I don't have anything similar and I could print sentiments on the computer, but I like to stamp them.

Varsity Alphabet/Numbers - Really on the fence with this one. It would be great for scrapbooking, but it is a bit expensive.

So what are you ordering and how did you narrow it down?

Guess I don't get the "gotta order stuff" because it is retiring. Most sets are in the cattie a minimum of two years and if I haven't ordered by now must not really want or need it. There is one set that's retiring that I have taken on and off my order list for three years. Thought about ordering for like a minute. I did order a pack of Blushing Bride card stock that will be retiring. I am so going to miss that color, use a lot of it. That's the first time I have ordered extra of anything that I knew would be on the accessories list. So far I have never regretted not ordering something that retired. For all those that are excited about the list and ordering what they want, Happy Shopping!

Mine are the cute little princess and that pony that looks like a Pretty Pony. I don't have my catalog right here...it's in the van, so I don't have the names. I cart my catty back and forth to work. I don't have anything like them and we have lots of little girls in the family!

I'm getting two in-color variety packs, 2 packs of Blushing Bride...I like it so much better than Pretty in Pink now, and some re-inkers.

I am a another one who doesn't buy retiring stamps. There may be some I like and have even considered ordering but as mentioned above, I would have already. And I wait excitedly for the new ones! That's where my budget is focused. The new stamps coming out in June.

I really want to purchase Fifth Avenue Floral, Flower Fancy, Inspired by Nature, and Pocket Silhouettes. I am new to Stampin Up, so they are new to me. I was hoping to find them half off on demo blog sites, but it is hard to know if they would be available or not. Decisions, decisions! Good luck deciding!

I too am torn about ordering Party Pony. I have my group order due this week. It's either that or Aviary which is not retiring. This is my last group order, so I plan to take a break for a while. We'll see.

Be sure to check out the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here at Splitcoast after June 1st, when demo's will be posting retired sets. I've gotten some great finds there. I have P. Silhouettes and still love it...that and Insp. by Nature! You can't go wrong with those!

I would really like Elizabeth but just can't see spending the shipping and all for just one stamp :( My demo told me that the accessories that are retiring will come out on the 24th (I think that's the date she gave) and to see if there is anything there that might make it more worth it for shipping. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!
