I would be in the less than 1% range. I'm always so excited to ink up my stamps and make something with them the second I get them home. I have maybe a few (out of hundreds) that have never been used. These are usually odd images or sentiments that came in a set.
Well, I can honestly say that every stamp that is in my collection has been used ONE time! I stamp an index card - whether it is a set or single stamps and they go into photo albums by companies( TAC, SU, Just Rite, everyday, and Studio G Clear stamps) for easy viewing when I am looking for something! Now, that is not saying that once they have been used to stamp the index card that everyone of them have been used again!
Great poll! In Jan 2009, I resolved to use every image stamp I own--a Herculean task! The sentiments that come in sets are often, in my opinion, unusable. How many "Cherish" or "Embrace Happiness" cards am I going to make? Um, not many. So I've stuck with using all the images and in the last 20 months have made a huge dent in my collection. Along the way, I've learned a lot about what not to buy for myself and what to get rid of. It's been a really good lesson.
I found myself buying sets because they were just toooo cute...then never using them:( so now I am attempting to resolve this by not putting away a new set until I have made at least one card with them (only two sets in my stack at the moment lol). I also set up a personal challenge to use every stamp in a set on a card, really makes you think especially with some of the sentiment stamps. I was just thinking maybe if I stamp off and use the faded ink I might get an interesting background effect over top of a more traditional background? Going to give it a try as many of the sentiments are just something I don't use.
I don't put my stamps away, until I've used them once. Sometimes I end up with a large pile on my desk, but right now there are no uninked stamps there! My aunt taught me that, and it was hard at first, but not now.
What an interesting discussion! I voted 25-50% unused, and that's the sets! I have indexed them all in my image book. I buy stamps I love, then continue to re-use the ones I really love.

I need to do this also. I have tons of sets but I also have lots of individual stamps. Honestly, other than having to buy CS and adhesive, I could stamps for years with just what I have.

Having more than once bought a stamp I already had, I decided I would buy an A5 art book, and stamp each of my stamps into it, so I could take it with me to craft shows etc. I also put all my unmounted stamps onto acetate and into ring binders, and stamped a record of each stamp on sheets to go in the front of each binder, so on a technicality, I'm going to say I've used 100% of my stamps, lol. To be serious, a lot of sets have one or two stamps I know I'm not likely to use, but the main image(s) are so unbelievably gorgeous that I can convince myself I'll find a use for the others.I still have a lot of wood-mounted that I haven't really used- but they had to be bought. I definitely heard them calling me,I really did!
Hee, hee... if you drooled over the stamp set and it left a watermark I'll give you credit. Your too funny!
hahahahahahahahahahaha!!! THAT's funny!

More stamps for more people!
sadly I would have to say about 80%, as my craft room was used for many things this year (only started in December stamping), but not so much a craft room. This should change in the next 2 months. (Cats's gone, bed is back in master bedroom) Painting and flooring should be done by the end of Sept. Then I am going to resolve to make at least one card from every stamp I own. I am trying not to buy any more, but I think I bought four sets at Micheals yesterday :(
