What is the MOST $ you have spent on one stamp set?
I realize I have an obsession with stamps (and designer papers) - and if there is a set I really really really want, I'll pay just about anything to get it. :o
So I'm curious if I'm really off the deep end now - no chance of escape from the clutches of stamp obsession  or if there are other people like me!
It would also be fun if you posted the name of the most expensive set that you bought!

I paid $30 something for my very first stamp set... don't know why I did it. Even though I had to have it, I never used the stamps. I made a great trade on the BST board however for an alpha set
Now, I don't think I'd go over $30. I have several sets on my wish list in the $28.95 range... I try to budget myself, so if I spend a lot on one set, there's less I can buy :???:

I am a paper fanatic too-good think you can buy a sheet for under $1 however
As a demonstrator, I was able to pre-order the headline alphabet. It is the most that I have paid for a stamp set. I do love it and think I will use it alot.

It's a double alphabet for me as well. I just can't get myself to buy EFP, I am afraid I will rock the images when I stamp them and then will be upset I spent all the money on the stamps! I am probably going to get one of the larger alphabets, though, very easy to stamp with!
I'm embarassed to admit it but I fell in love with Haute Couture and someone suggested E-bay. I went and took a look and most sets were going for around $35 (which is a pretty hefty price) but I got in to a competitive bidding war and totally lost my mind and kept bidding, bidding, bidding.....
I ended up paying$53 plus shipping for total of $58 and change...

I just realized that I answered wrong, I checked the 21-30 range, but I forgot that I bought Brushstroke Alphabet ($38.95?) Sorry to screw up the poll!
Headline Alphabet was worth every penny! although I was a little surprised that they have you mounting two letters on each block. I still love it and have used it a lot in the last week.
I had to have Natures Sketchbook when I found out it didn't make it into the catty from the hostess selections. I just loved that set and ended up buying it for close to $60 on Ebay just a few months ago.

I bought the Brushstroke alpha upper and lower 2 years ago when it was $61.95 Canadian. However, in my defense it was a month that we got the matching numbers for free when we ordered the alphabet. So really it was a great deal ! I am not sure what $61.95 works out to in US dollars so I was the one who picked that number in the poll.

One fo those "should have gotten it before it retired stories." I loved Fabric of Friendship. I finally got it for $45 on ebay after it retired. This was a great price since most of the time it was going for $75-$90. After I got it I shoped a friend and she wanted one too. By then I was a little more familiar with SCS and the SU board. I got a demo to trade me for a new $19.95 set. Great for her, sucked for me. Thanks you to that demo whoever you were. I'm sorry I don't remember.
My son is really into Thomas the Tank Engine. They don't make those anymore. I paid $26 PLUS shipping on e-bay for just the Thomas stamp only. I found some of the others on clearance for just $2 each!
So my 3 year old stamps his Thank you notes using our most expensive stamp! And it's not even SU! Go figure! I think he's got the bug at this young age...
The most expensive set I ever bought was SU's Summer Sunflower. It was $32, I think, because it's one of their Definitely Decorative sets, which is always a little pricier. I've been on the fence about Everyday Flexible Phrases. I don't know if I want to spend that much . . .

I paid $40 plus shipping for sunny seasons greetings but I felt like it was a great buy because it is so hard to find and it was going for well over $50 on ebay. I got an unmounted set also so I was very excited, it is actually still unmounted though because it is not the holidays yet. I have no idea what I am going to do with the set but I ahd to have it as soon as I saw it, I had never even heard of stampin up when the set was out or I would have bought it before.
