I've been making most of my envelopes lately, using papers from my stash that I don't care for anymore. I started out using my ATG to adhere the sides, but am wondering what others use? I tried using liquid glue today and not happy with the results as there are areas that didn't adhere. Now I need to go back and try to glue the spots that didn't take the first time, argh.

I also use my ATG for securing my handmade envelopes which I've been making for 20+ years. I feel confident that they'll hold up to postal handling and the occasional damp deliveries.
Looks like a lot of you use your ATG as well, so I'll just continue doing that. I agree that it holds up through the mail, and I've had no problem at all doing assembly line envelope making. I try to make no fewer than 20 at a time, so the glue method wasn't working well. Thanks!

I haven't made an envelope in a while, but it seems like I either used a glue stick or double sided tape. Somehow, I think it must have been double sided tape, as I don't know if a glue stick would be strong enough. Anyone know if it is strong enough?
If I'm making cards to mail, I use scor-tape to hold the envelopes together and also to seal it. If I'm making multiple cards & envelopes as gifts or for sale, I apply red-backed tape to the final flap, leaving the red backing intact. That way the recipient or buyer can choose when to seal it by just peeling off the red backing. BTW glue sticks too messy.

I use double sided tape (ScorTape) and then I apply Lick'n'Stick to the flap and then it will be like a regular envelope with the part you lick to seal the envelope:
I've found that glue sticks, even up-market ones, are useless. So I secure my envelope folds with a small tape runner and since we don't have a lot of fancy supplies here, I make my own envelope glue. I have a sm jar that sits in the fridge and I just microwave it momentarily when I need to brush some on a flap. The recipe is here: https://thepostmansknock.com/diy-env...ade-envelopes/
I am new to and totally hooked on Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. You need very little and it sticks fast! I found teeny pointed bottles in Michaels and filled them. They are great for placing tiny bling amd sequins and it really holds. I use it for envelopes too. It is thicker than others I have used. Really love it.
I also make my own envelopes....(no need to explain about all the excess paper I have!! LOL). I use a liquid glue to seal the envys but don't put them together until the card is ready to mail. I don't trust two-way tape for this job.
