What ink to use with watercolor paper???

Hey everyone,

I tried using my new watercolor paper this weekend. I used SU's Basic Black stamp pad, and proceeded to watercolor my stamped image using the watercolor crayons and an aquapainter. The black ink bleed a lot. Should I heat set it first?

I have to admit, I was impatient and immediately starting coloring my image, maybe I didn't let it dry?

Is stazon better for this paper?

Try heat setting, but it may buckle the paper as the moisture escapes. Stazon will work as will Brilliance black. HTH!

I use any and every type of ink on my watercolor papers and I never really have much of a problem. Just give things a chance to dry before you start coloring.

My demonstrater used the watercolor paper at the last party I hostessed, and she said to use the Staz-On pads instead of the regular stamp pads.

TAC offers the Palette Hybrid Ink Pads and they are awesome for watercoloring. They have the permanence of Staz-On, but they clean off your stamps really well. I always hated that Staz-On stayed on my stamps!

Spencer did a few demos on watercolor crayons at convention. He said to use Stazon ink.
