Not to mention being difficult to read -- my eyes must be getting old already, LOL!
LOL! I didn't want to admit that.
Actually, it reminds me of the old Georgia Tech Cyber when they first had "terminals" across campus and the Cyber took up a whole room in the computer building, a huge room.
The terminals ran at 300 baud, which you could read while it scrolled, no page breaks needed. And there was only ALL CAPS. And if someone sent you a : D (I had to add a space or it turned it into a smilie) in a message or on a forum, it would log you off!!!!!
Yeah those were the old days.

If I recall correctly the SU gang brought his name into this thread. If I heard I was being talked about I would certainly be inclined to find out what is being said.

I'm thinking your use of the phrases SU gang and SU cheerleaders is what comes across as over the top.
But you seem to enjoy denigrating SU every chance you get, so don't let me get in your way.
You know what they say about opinions.

So are you saying there is not a gang of Cheerleaders here?
It is not SU that I am unhappy with... it is that particular group shoving their products down everyone's throats every chance they get to the point that it is getting old. None of the other companies here do that. For the record, I have no issues with SU products... love their cardstock and I own quite a few of their stamps. Yes, I dis say I find their artwork in the new cattys somewhat boring so I am not buying at this time... if they get something i like I will definitely buy again.
Yes, I know what they say about opinions. Funny thing is we all have them... you included!
surprised this thread is still active and only adding this because another post was freshly pressed- THERE IS A WAY to make the thread go away.... STOP POSTING TO IT!
(Yes, i did "yell" that! lol!).
Honestly- is the anger/fight/being right really that much fun?

I do not believe there is a "gang" of cheerleaders, no.
I think some demos are more eager to jump in to defend the company they demo for, but I don't see that equating to "shoving their products down everyone's throat."
I think one can like all kinds of products and say so without bashing another.
I spent some time looking at your past posts last night and you do like to get a little dig in at SU! whenever you get the chance. So that's kind of the opposite of a cheerleader, right?
And the world needs balance, so I'm okay with that.

No anger here, but yes, I was surprised it was resurrected again this morning.

OK, here we go again! Just because you say it is so, doesn't make it so. Show me the links! Give me the link. Give me the quote. NO ONE was able to provide one example of the shoving down the throat that you love to claim. Why? IT DOESN'T EXIST!!!
BTW, you don't happen to have more than one SCS id do you? This is sounding REALLY familar, as in exact wording as the last time this all started.
I do not believe there is a "gang" of cheerleaders, no.
Seriously? People have actually admitted they are part of the Cheerleaders.

Why do it here? They are Home Demos and they are not allowed to solicit here so it is not like they are going to make any money here. They should be doing this to their customers that they sell to at their "events".

Kinda makes you wonder why similar threads keep popping up here and they always involve SU.

ROFL... you have way too much spare time on your hands!

I agree... so stop complaining about negative posts about SU. The people that are negative are balancing out the MANY MANY posts by the Cheerleaders.

ROFL... back to the link request again, huh? Sorry but I am not going to go through thousands of threads to get you a link.
No, I don't have more than one user name. I am sure Admin can verify that for you by my IP. This is the one an only username I have had here. The wording sounds familiar because there are many members here that refer to this same issue and feel the same way that I do.
I am sure Kathy is smart enough to have taken very little time looking up that info.
It probably didn't take much time since I only have around 300 posts as opposed to both of your post counts being over 6000. I haven't posted much here but some of the things the Cheerleaders do here just finally irked me enough to speak up.
But why not just ignore it? Why let it bother you so much?
Ignore it? You are joking, right? How can one ignore something that is constantly happening. I am sick and tired of this group ganging up on these folks and shoving SU products down their throats. The product should sell itself... not have to be pushed so hard by the Demos here.
But why not just ignore it? Why let it bother you so much?
I really shouldn't wade into this but here goes nothing -
I think its the perceived sense of entitlement that many SU supporters (many representing themselves as demos) seem to exhibit. It really wasn't that long ago that there was a thread entitled something similar to Let's take back these boards for SU.
I could care less of whom is representative of what company. In this instance, we have a former SCS owner/SU demo that originally set up SCS and somehow some SU afficionados believe that that entitles them to more from SCS than others. I'm of the belief that SCS and SU have no legal overt agreement to allow overt promotion of SU, though continue to tacitly promote SU by providing a demo area specifically for SU demos.
From the presence on the boards, at times it does seem subversive in continuing to advertise the product and then guiding potential customers to their nearest demo - a one for all and all for one type concept to continue to generate free advertising for the company. Not a bad concept to garner as much free advertising as possible, but it is what it is and no need for anyone to say it isn't what is going on.
The entitled attitude just seems to be a bonus feature of the phenomenom.
ROFL... back to the link request again, huh? Sorry but I am not going to go through thousands of threads to get you a link.

LOL, so you are familiar with that thread and are answering the previous request the same! Fishy! And as you answered before in the previous thread, if it takes you looking through 1000s of threads to find a link to any SU demo EVER having shoved product down anyone's throat, what does that say?
So there you go, you're not willing to spend the time to search for the "proof" of your claims but then again, you will keep on chanting that mantra!
Ignore it? You are joking, right? How can one ignore something that is constantly happening. I am sick and tired of this group ganging up on these folks and shoving SU products down their throats. The product should sell itself... not have to be pushed so hard by the Demos here.
CONSTANTLY happening, yet too time consuming to find a link to even one instance. Strange!
Seriously, that is what you consider shoving SU down the throats of others?
Not necessarily myself - but sometimes its beneficial to walk a mile in someone else's shoes and try to see what they see without being judgemental.
When I think SU I think of a successful company with a pyramid scheme structure but based on a good, solid product. However, I also see the push, push, push about catalogs, new products, in-colors etc that doesn't seem to go with any other product on these boards except for member companies. I also see the "exclusivity" push which just personally grates me; I understand it on an advertising level but I just don't feel the need to make any one think they are any less of a crafter if they use different product. I think this focus of their business has backfired... I have seen other companies have exclusives for different shops representing them and I didn't feel as excluded as the SU seems to push. Maybe it is the difference between home direct sales and shop sales but I don't think that area is really working for SU when it turns people off their product.
I do however agree that you can't please everyone. I just think this could be handled better. And that SU could play nicely with all the other manufacturers in the playground.
No I'm not joking. lol. It's easy to just close the thread and move on (for me). I would go crazy if I let every bashing thread here get to me.
You know me too well.
I must babble a lot with my post count huh.
By the way, posters who think someone has a second ID, seriously, you should just report the post, and there's a space for a message and you can ask the mods to check into that. It's much nicer than calling someone out on the boards.
Geez, I must have learned that from CE. ;)
Oh yeah, and "gang" of cheerleaders implies some kind of organized group with some fancy initiation rite.... So while some demos may indeed be cheerleaders, doesn't mean there's a "gang."

Are you calling SU demos un-organized? :p
Are you calling SU demos un-organized? :p
If you could see my stamping room you would think I am one of the most unorganized demos on earth! But somehow I am able to find what I need for my workshops and club meetings. Not sure how someimes...
I have to disagree with you. While initially I thought this was a valid thread and wanted to allow people to vent their discontent about SU - I now see this just as an SU bashing thread by a very few people.
I'm not an SU demo - but I think this is simply an ugly thread started and kept going by a very few.
My initial plan was just to allow people to vent about SU without being fearful of doing so. It was incorrect of me to do so because
it's clear to me that this thread is just an ugly bashing thread of SU amd demo's by a very few people.
Personally - all of the SU demo's that I know are the best and most generous people. I love the new punches, some of the new sets in the saleabration catty.
To all of you SU demo's - GREAT JOB! Love the job you do- and the stamps! My next order is going in Jan 5th 2010 - the day the Salebration Catty goes into effect, as well as the new mini!!
It is a tempting Mini and Sale-a-bration ! I had thought I was going to be able to redirect my funds to organization this spring but SU has come up with some great punches.

I can tell that you have carefully thought this out, but there are some parts that I don't understand. Can you explain the red part above? I understand that you are saying that SU doesn't try to get along with other companies, but I don't think that that is their mission. Maybe you are referring to demonstrators not playing well with others. To that, I feel like it is individual peronalities coming out, not necesarily the comments of the company. In fact, demonstrtors are independent demonstrators. While I don't see SU making any contracts with other stamp companies, they do have contracts of some sort with Fiskars, Sizzix, and EK Success, so it's not like they are ignoring the rest of the industry.
I also think that it is our era of litigation that has prompted some of the recent controversy. I think that SU is trying to avoid conflicts of interest, and litigation. In doing so, perhaps some have taken an elitist attitude. I haven't seen this, but I haven't been on SCS too much lately.
So are you saying there is not a gang of Cheerleaders here?

Isn't that what salespeople do? The Ford dealer isn't going to try to sell me a Chevy.
If it the same group of posters every time you feel are "over-the-top" with pushing SU, you can always put them on ignore.

If you can find the floor, you're having a better week than I am. My goal is to finally get my stamps indexed and the room in order.

That is not what I am talking about here and you know it. It is like you open a box of cookies and decide that this is the best cookie you have ever eaten and you must stop anyone looking at any other brand of cookie... stopping someone on a park and telling them you cookie is better than theirs, or in the lunchroom, or the cookie isle in the grocery store. I may actually be willing to try your cookies if you would just back off a bit on the subject.
I don't ignore this group because I enjoy reading their posts when they are not ganging up on people.

There have been many threads disagreeing about this subject. You already tried this tactic on other threads and no one paid any attention to you then so why try again? Yes, I am familiar with the threads about the Cheerleaders, etc.... I have been a member here for a few years now and they keep coming up. If all this was not happening why do threads like this keep popping up?
As for finding you threads... it is not going to happen because I don't have the time or inclination to do so. I would recommend for you to find them but apparently you have your very own pair of "rose colored glasses" on so I doubt if you did find one you would not see it.

I included the entire sentence. In colors are part of the push the sales psychology. If you don't have new in colors people can't just get them at any time but if they are an "exclusive, limited time only" situation then it is pushing for sales. All companies do it but not to "have/have not level" that SU does in this type of supply.
I personally feel that SU doesn't play well with others as has been testified to by many who attend stamping groups where they aren't allowed to chat freely about their hobby for fear of Big Brother snuffing out their demo. Personalities are personalities there are all types. However SU own behaviour toward its competitors sets the bar at how they expect their demos to behave. Basically to the outsider that bar is to shout loudly about SU products and ignore the existance of other products in the marketplace. I don't personally think that necessarily makes SU look good. I'm not too bother about the recent IDA (or whatever it is called). I understand the need for it and thought that SU actually let things go too far before reigning it in which is probably one of the reasons it came off as so harsh to so many affected by it. Truthfully from a business perspective it was long overdue. I do think they could have structured it differently and had the best of both worlds.

Nope, wrong again! This is dj vu all over again. In the last thread, none of the SU Bashers could give links when asked to back their claims as there are NONE to be found! The Bashers are the ones doing the claiming of the CONSTANT shoving down the throats of others, so show it! No one can take seriously outlandish claims without being shown anything to back the claims up.
And that is basically how the other thread finally came to an end - when the actual proof of the outlandish claims could not be given, it finally died!
So finally we come full circle and to the same conclusion.
