Not even sure if I can do it in time. My BFF is turning 50 in Jan. I was thinking of making 50 cards for her, a variety of card for her to use. I know she likes my cards, and sends them out to people.
What do you think?
Great idea - especially if the postage is included (use Forever stamps so it won't matter if postage rates go up before she uses all the cards). I think a pen and/or address book are other nice additions (if they fit in your budget).
Please post a link to the photo when it's finished - I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to see it!

I think its a great idea,i once gave a shoebox full of handmade cards to my therapist when my sessions came to an end he loved them so did his wife xx jo xx
That is a really sweet and thoughtful idea! If you didn't want to create 50 unique designs, you could choose a few designs and change out the sentiment (bday, thank you, etc.). I'm sure she will love it!
I really love that idea. I don't think you need to include postage, that is alot of money but a cheap address book and pen would be a great addition. You should get started, this will probably be one of the most personable gifts she has ever been given and will always be a special gift from you. What a wonderful idea!

That's an awesome idea, and one I think I'll keep in mind! When my hubby turned 40 (and my best friend also within days of each other) I threw a surprise party for them. Everyone was asked to bring 40 of something as a gift. Didn't have to be anything big... one person brought 40 mini post-its, there were 40 golf tees, 40 q-tips, 40 pencils. I LOVE doing that and secretly hoped my hubby would do the same on my 40th, but he never gets the hints! Your friend will always remember what a special gift this will be on such a momentous occasion.
All my friends will be 40 in a few years so I will be making tons of these in the future. But until then, I am making one for my mom when she turns 60 in April!
Mebbe just a little book of "forever" stamps? She may hand deliver some of the cards. ;)
I second it. It would not have to be a stamp for each card. One book of stamps is great. A nice pen and you're set. Even if you don't get a total of 50 cards made, it would be a lovely gift.

I think it would be a super idea!! How about doing groups of 5 cards using basically the same layout and stamps and then varying the sentiments or colors? That way you would be able to finish them more quickly.

Great idea. Use the One Sheet Wonder technique and that will help you make more cards in a short length of time. You'll reach 50 cards for sure!
One of the SU! Simply Scrappin' kits would be great for this, too -- using the I Wish one last year made it easy for me to crank out a bunch of different designs in a short period of time for my Holiday Stamp-a-Stack, and I've used others to quickly create dozens of cards for my craft sale inventory.
Have fun creating your gift, and I'm sure your friend will be thrilled!

I think its a great idea and very special because you know that she appreciates your cards. I agree that only a book of stamps is needed not postage for all.
I did this very thing for my friend when she turned 50. I tried to use colours she liked and I used the One Sheet Wonder templates. I also tried to use a variety of sayings that she would use. I didn't include the stamps or pen but I did give her envelopes with the cards. I actually gave her the cards and I still had to finish about 10 of them. I didn't start in time and she didn't mind that they weren't done. She loved the gift.
I did this for my BFF a few years ago, not for her birthday, but for Christmas. I took a cheap video storage box and painted flowers and her first initial on the top of the box and put a dozen cards and envies inside. Now when I make cards for swaps, I also make a couple extra so when Christmas rolls around I have a couple dozen cards to give her every year. She isn't bashful about telling me when her box is running low.
This is what I'm doing for my colleagues for Christmas actually (although 4 each, not 50!)
